So, I had a bit of an a-ha moment fairly early in to this week's conversation, and it's something that I've been wrestling with and trying to reconcile ever since. For most of my childhood I had to just suck it up and accept that things were a bit shitty, because in the back of my mind I told myself that one day it would all be better. And, so, I ended up tolerating a lot of bad behaviour directed towards me. And, I've started to realise recently that I've brought that mindset in to my adult life, and have continued to tolerate shitty things far beyond what is reasonable. Anyway, that is all to say that I got a lot out of this conversation... And who helped provide that a-ha moment? Why, it's none other than comedian Jeena Bloom. Now, Jeena wanted to talk about queer spaces that she'd never even been to, but which existed in her small-town Florida 90s childhood as these almost fabled places that everyone in town knew as the gay and lesbian bar. She shares why those places were special to her even though she never set foot in them. We also talk all about mid-life crises, sugar daddies, and being meant for the big city. Do you have any memories of Dockside, or clubbing from your own scene that you want to share? Well, if you have please get in touch - I want to create the biggest online record of people's memories and stories - go to www.lostspacespodcast.com and find the section 'Share a Lost Space' and tell me what you got up to! There is so much happening with comedians that are trans that has nothing to do with Dave Chappelle. This week's guest, the splendid Jeena Bloom, is proof positive that there is much to be celebrated and enjoyed with the comedic stylings of many trans men and women just like comedians of any other background. That includes stand-up, TV, movies, podcasts, etc. as well as thorough discussion of local neighborhoods in LA and NYC (neighborhood maps per the podcast conversation linked below). Also, "hot" takes on Mel Brooks' History of the World Part 2, Tarantino thinking about doing a comedy, and, oh yeah, that Chappelle mess over at Netflix (NOTE: this podcast was recorded on 10/19/21, the day before the #NetflixWalkout).Follow Jeena @jeenabloom on Twitter and IGFor reference, as promised, here are neighborhood maps of LA (Frogtown is denoted as Elysian Valley for some reason) and NYCThe Comedy Bureau @thecomedybureau across platforms and please, please support TCB via GoFundMe, Patreon, or on Venmo (@jakekroeger).Produced by Jake KroegerMusic by Brian GranilloArtwork by Andrew Delman and KTSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In 1980s Miami, nothing was out of reach to those with money and the right connections. Guns, Drugs, Girls, anything you wanted could be yours for the right price if you spoke to a Ukrainian mobster by the name of Tarzan. So when the Soviet Union fell and drug cartels wanted to buy helicopters and submarines, they knew who to call. This is the story of how the Russian mob and Colombian cartels tried to do the impossible and we are joined this week by the fantastic Jeena Bloom! Music provided by Paper Yellow Music.

Today I had the please of speaking with Jeena Bloom. Jeena is an up and coming comic in NYC who also happens to be a transgender lady. Her comedy is mostly about what it's like to be a woman in NYC, dating, working and having sex.
Jeena Bloom, transgender comedian and engineer, found her sluttiness once she transitioned 3 years ago. She schools Nicoletta and Simone about what sex was like for her pre-transition and how glorious it is for her now, reaffirms that there are many different ways to be trans and is unabashed about being a "motherslut" and the inability to bone to the sweet, sweet tunes of the Eagles. We talk about passing privilege, avoiding misgendering and the surprise at being way more a Phoebe than a Monica. PS: If you're an MM couple, make sure to slide into her DMs. FOLLOW US Twitter Instagram Facebook Send questions, comments, stories, rants to: SlutsAndScholars@gmail.com Sluts And Scholars is a production of sluts and scholars media.
NYC comedians Pauline Murphy and Jeena Bloom stop by and we have a heated debate regarding dick preference; to circumcise or not to circumcise? That is the question. We also discuss what it is like to live as a trans woman and be able to have EVERY type of orgasm. We also talk about Pauline's predicament - she's only cum four times. Ever. How Cum? Let's find out.
