A growing body of research reveals the link between STIs andthe pathogens that cause most cases of vaginitis. Over 90% of vaginitis cases result from BV, yeast, or trich- alone or in combination. But, a recent 2024 study from Schwebke et al., in the J Clinical Microbiology, found that about 1 in 5 women who presented with symptoms of vaginitis also had at least one STI…a good reminder to not just stop at a VP3 or wet mount. Additionally, women who tested positive for BV had an STI infection rate double the rate found in womenwho tested negative for BV. In fact, T. vaginalis (TV) and Mycoplasma genitalium (M. gen) infections were significantly associated with BV. We generally trust our tests- don't we? Negative VP3 for trich- all clear right? Not quite. In this episode, we will highlight our real case where the VP3 testconfirmed BV as the only issue in our symptomatic pregnant patient, yet the cervical NAAT collected at the same time returned positive for Trichomoniasis. VOV1 - Ngày hội Văn hóa dân tộc Mông lần thứ Tư, năm 2026 được Bộ Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch lựa chọn tổ chức tại tỉnh Điện Biên. Tối 9/10, Ngày hội sẽ chính thức khai mạc với rất nhiều hoạt động đề cao tính trải nghiệm dành cho người dân và du khách. # Theo thông tin được công bố tại buổi Họp báo do Bộ Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch và UBND tỉnh Điện Biên phối hợp tổ chức chiều ngày 24/9, tại Hà Nội, Ngày hội Văn hóa dân tộc Mông lần thứ IV tại tỉnh Điện Biên sẽ diễn ra từ ngày 9 đến 11/10, có sự tham gia của nghệ nhân, diễn viên, vận động viên và quần chúng đến từ 11 tỉnh, thành, với nhiều hoạt động trình diễn: khèn Mông, trang phục, nghề truyền thống, ẩm thực, thể thao và trò chơi dân gian. Trong đó, Carnaval đường phố sẽ là một điểm nhấn đáng chú ý. Các đoàn sẽ trình diễn những giá trị văn hóa đặc sắc của dân tộc Mông, kết thúc bằng màn đồng diễn nghệ thuật Khèn Mông với chủ đề “Vũ điệu kết đoàn” tại Quảng trường 7/5.Không chỉ diễn ra trong không gian sân khấu, nhiều hoạt động trải nghiệm cũng đang được tỉnh Điện Biên xúc tiến thực hiện nhằm đưa văn hóa Mông đến gần du khách. Trong đó điểm nhấn là không gian trải nghiệm tại Làng du lịch văn hóa dân tộc Mông ở bản Lồng, xã Quài Tở. Đây cũng là hướng gắn bảo tồn văn hóa với phát triển du lịch cộng đồng mà Ban Tổ chức hướng tới.  Ông Nguyễn Văn Đoạt, Phó Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Điện Biên nhấn mạnh: "Đây không chỉ là sự kiện văn hóa quy mô toàn quốc, mà còn là dịp để tôn vinh, bảo tồn và phát huy những giá trị văn hóa truyền thống đặc sắc của đồng bào dân tộc Mông; tăng cường khối đại đoàn kết toàn dân tộc; đồng thời quảng bá hình ảnh đất và người Điện Biên, tiềm năng văn hóa, du lịch và các sản phẩm đặc trưng của tỉnh. Tinh thần chung của tỉnh là tổ chức Ngày hội trang trọng nhưng không phô trương; giàu bản sắc nhưng không hình thức; an toàn, tiết kiệm, hiệu quả và đặc biệt phải tạo được trải nghiệm thực sự cho Nhân dân, đại biểu và du khách. Đến nay, công tác chuẩn bị đang được triển khai đồng bộ".Đến thời điểm này, công tác chuẩn bị đã cơ bản hoàn thành, từ nội dung chương trình, cơ sở vật chất, hậu cần, lưu trú đến các phương án bảo đảm an ninh, trật tự, an toàn cho đại biểu, nghệ nhân và du khách. VOV1 - Ngày 22/09, tại Hà Nội, Báo Văn hóa (Bộ Văn hóa- Thể thao và Du lịch) phối hợp với Quỹ Phòng bệnh (Bộ Y tế) tổ chức Lễ phát động Bảng xếp hạng “Khách sạn tiêu biểu không thuốc lá” lần thứ 2, với chủ đề “Khách sạn xanh - không thuốc lá”Sử dụng thuốc lá đã và đang gây ra gánh nặng lớn về bệnh tật và tử vong sớm tại Việt Nam. Ước tính, mỗi năm thuốc lá gây ra hơn 100.000 ca tử vong; Đồng thời, thiệt hại kinh tế do sử dụng thuốc lá ước tính khoảng 108.000 tỷ đồng mỗi năm, tương đương khoảng 1,1% GDP, bao gồm các tổn thất về năng suất và lao động.Những năm qua, nhờ triển khai đồng bộ nhiều giải pháp, tỉ lệ phơi nhiễm với khói thuốc thụ động tại khách sạn năm 2024 giảm 14,6% so với năm 2020. Mặc dù có những kết quả tích cực, nhưng khách sạn, nhà hàng vẫn là những địa điểm có tỷ lệ phơi nhiễm với khói thuốc lá cao hơn so với các địa điểm cấm hút thuốc lá khác. Do đó, từ năm 2025, Chương trình Bảng xếp hạng “Khách sạn tiêu biểu không thuốc lá” được triển khai trên phạm vi toàn quốc, với kết quả 44 khách sạn được xếp hạng.Năm nay, nội dung chương trình bảng xếp hạng tập trung đánh giá bao quát việc tuân thủ quy định về phòng, chống tác hại của thuốc lá; Việc tổ chức thực hiện tại cơ sở; Hệ thống biển báo và thông tin dành cho khách; Việc bố trí khu vực hút thuốc theo quy định; Đào tạo, hướng dẫn nhân viên, cùng việc không kinh doanh, quảng cáo, khuyến mại, tiếp thị và tài trợ thuốc lá. Ông Trần Thanh Tùng, Phó Giám đốc Quỹ Phòng bệnh (Bộ Y tế) cho biết: Ban Tổ chức tiếp nhận hồ sơ đăng ký “Khách sạn tiêu biểu không thuốc lá” đến ngày 30/10 tới. Lễ trao giải dự kiến tổ chức trong tháng 12/2026.“Theo quy định của Luật Phòng, chống tác hại của thuốc lá, khách sạn và cơ sở lưu trú du lịch là những địa điểm cấm hút thuốc lá trong nhà nhưng được phép bố trí nơi dành riêng cho người hút thuốc. Khu vực dành riêng phải bảo đảm các điều kiện về phòng và hệ thống thông khí tách biệt, có dụng cụ chứa tàn thuốc, biển báo và thiết bị phòng cháy, chữa cháy. Đặc biệt, Luật khuyến khích người đứng đầu khách sạn, cơ sở lưu trú tổ chức thực hiện không hút thuốc lá hoàn toàn trong nhà.
