Two women in their 60s and a man aged about 40 were murdered and 10 people were wounded in a shooting attack near the West Bank settlement of Kedumim, west of Nablus. The terror attack was committed in the village Funduk, on Route 55 in Samaria. Two terrorists armed with rifles shot at two private Israeli vehicles and a bus. The 2 women fatalities were traveling in one private vehicle, and the third is a man who was on board the bus. KAN's Mark Weiss spoke with local resident Yigal Dilmoni, founder of American Friends of Judea and Samaria, who says the IDF should act in West Bank Palestinian villages, such as Funduk, like it acts in Gaza. Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with one of America's top economists ⏤ former US Congressman Dave Brat, vice-president for business engagement at Liberty University. America's Roundtable conversation with Congressman Dave Brat covers the following key topics: Wealth creation | The growing disparity between America's top 1% and the vanishing middle-class. The persistent inflationary prices adversely impacting America's families. Crisis on America's southern border. | The death of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student at the University of Georgia and the arrest of Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old Venezuelan citizen who immigration officials said entered the U.S. illegally. The policy of peace through strength versus appeasement. The Biden administration's foreign policy placed under the spotlight. Serious concerns are raised about President Biden's Executive Order (EO) which unfairly targets Israeli Jews in Judea and Samaria ⏤ the Biblical heartland of Israel, also known as the West Bank. Biden's EO clearly undermines Israel as a strong rule of law nation. Is this EO a departure of US support for the Jewish state? Is the Abraham Accords ⏤ the promise of peace and prosperity in the Middle East, and beyond? Further reading: Fox Business | Why are groceries still so expensive? Quote from Megan Henney, Fox Business : "While inflation has fallen considerably from a peak of 9.1% notched during June 2022, it remains above the Federal Reserve's 2% goal. And when compared with January 2021, shortly before the inflation crisis began, prices are up a stunning 17.6%. The typical U.S. household needed to pay $211 more a month in December to purchase the same goods and services it did one year ago because of still-high inflation, according to new calculations from Moody's Analytics. Americans are paying on average $1,020 more each month compared with the same time two years ago." americasrt.com (https://americasrt.com/) https://ileaderssummit.org/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 Twitter: @DaveBratVA7th @ileaderssummit @AmericasRT @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. The conversation with this seasoned and principled leader will provide engaged listeners with timely insights, in-depth analysis, and clarity on the pressing issues impacting Israel, America and its allies. Key topics covered include: —Governor Israel Ganz condemns June 20th abhorrent terrorist attack in Eli, Binyamin, Judea and Samaria, Israel, whereby two Palestinian terrorists murdered four innocent Israelis at a restaurant and gas station. —The conversation with Governor Israel Ganz was recorded before Shabbat from the very site where Palestinian terrorists killed Israelis. —Since the start of 2023 in Israel, there have been 152 terrorist shooting attacks resulting in the death of 22 individuals and 43 wounded. The Jewish community is being targeted within Israel. —The discussion will also highlight concerns of how the Biden administration is undermining Israel's duly elected government. "In recent months, terror activities in the northern part of the West Bank have escalated as the Palestinian Authority has lost effective security control. Jenin, where the IDF recently operated, has become an Iranian terror stronghold, located just minutes away from Israeli population centers. Replete with hundreds of armed terrorists and laboratories working to produce lethal explosive devices and rockets, this “capital” of terror has become the main springboard of terror attacks against Israelis. Israel will do whatever it takes to protect Israeli citizens and stop this wave of terror." — Ambassador Michael Herzog, Israel's top diplomat to the United States. This special feature will lead up to Israel's 75th anniversary to be celebrated from the evening of Tuesday, April 25 to the evening of Wednesday, April 26, 2023. In our conversation we discussed the challenges and opportunities that Israel — America's strongest ally in the Middle East faces as we reflect on its 75 years as a sovereign nation: — An entrepreneurial success story | The Psagot Winery in Judea and Samaria—the heartland of Israel. — How the Arab population gains economic opportunities, employment, and higher salaries in Jewish communities within Judea and Samaria when compared to working in the Palestinian Authority's territory. — Transforming the desert and the barren land into a land of promise through the exports of agricultural products, innovation and technology. — U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Ambassador David Friedman's visit to Psagot Winery in Judea and Samaria and the Trump administration's leadership in reversing the Obama administration's approach towards Israeli settlements. The Psagot Winery | Psagotwines.com (https://psagotwines.com/en/home-page/) From the Psagot Winery (https://psagotwines.com/en/home-page/)| Located in the Jerusalem mountains, overlooking the primordial landscape of Israel. It all began in a 2,500 year old cave, where a message from the past was revealed to us in the form of an ancient coin where history and legacy come together. Psagot Winery and its vineyards planted deep in the rocky soil of Benjamin in Israel, is a continuation of wine production dating back thousands of years in an optimal area for its quality grapes. The winery was established in 2003 and has been growing steadily ever since. Today the winery produces over 750,000 bottles that include 15 different types of quality wines. Over 70% of these wines are exported to over 27 countries and duty-free locations around the world. The wines have entered prestigious competitions and have won awards and medals of distinction from the international community. In June 2020, Psagot Winery moved to its new location at Sha'ar Binyamin. In a beautiful stone structure built in the shape of an ancient inn the winery overlooks Wadi Kelt and the Edom Mountains. The winery is divided into two sections; the wine production plant and the impressive visiting center that includes a barrel room below where over 1,000 barrels are aged each year. He views himself as a direct descendant of the biblical Jews who once toiled the same land. “Wine is an industry most identified with its geography,” Berg said. For this reason, he used a print of an actual ancient coin he discovered in a cave near the Psagot settlement where he lives as a symbol that he stamps on all his winery's bottles. The coin, which dates back to the Bar Kochva revolt, has the words “Freedom of Zion” written on it. He has battled for this freedom on the international stage over the issue of product labeling. He wants the words “Made in Israel,” which he prints on the labels his winery produces, to be a recognized international fact." Just last month, Friedman took steps against settlement boycotts and UN Security Council Resolution 2334 condemning settlements. Before visiting the winery, Mr. Pompeo announced that the U.S. would consider the Palestinian-led boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, known as BDS, to be anti-Semitic and would cut U.S. support to any groups or organizations participating in it. Episode 20 of the Israel Defense and Diplomacy Forum (IDDF) – with Prof. Chuck Freilich, former Israeli Deputy National Security Advisor, and Danny Ayalon, former Deputy Foreign Minister and Ambassador to Washington.  In this episode, Chuck and Danny begin with a discussion of their shared horror over the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria and deepest sympathy for the people affected. They further discuss the IDF emergency search and rescue team dispatched to Turkey, whether it is likely to have an impact on Israeli-Turkish relations, and the fact that Israel itself, which is geologically “overdue” to be hit by a major earthquake, is woefully unprepared. Sharp differences emerge as they turn to recent events in the Palestinian arena, the reasons for the ongoing conflict and potential resolutions. Although Chuck agrees with Danny that Palestinian rejectionism and terrorism have had a devastating impact on Israeli attitudes towards the peace process, he notes that one cannot ignore the similar impact that Israel's settlement activities have had on the Palestinian side. Both agree that Sec. Blinken's recent visit to Israel was highly unusual, with the US expressing strong criticism of Israel in a number of crucial areas, including the planned judicial changes and impact on Israeli democracy. Whereas Danny is more confident, Chuck believes that Israel's policies, both in regard to the Palestinians and now the planned judicial changes, threaten Israel's fundamental character as a state and pose a threat to the future of the “special relationship”.They also disagree over the ramifications of the new government's policies on ties with Arab states, especially the Gulf states. Although Danny acknowledges problems with Jordan, he believes that the damage with the rest will not be significant. Chuck is far more concerned and believes that the relationship will likely be impaired significantly.  Join us as Chuck and Danny agree and disagree, in detail and in-depth, always respectfully, on the critical issues Israel faces. The MirYam Institute. Episode 15 of the Israel Defense and Diplomacy Forum (IDDF) – with Prof. Chuck Freilich, former Israeli Deputy National Security Advisor, and Danny Ayalon, former Deputy Foreign Minister and Ambassador to Washington. In this special episode, Chuck interviews Danny about his experiences as Israel's ambassador to the United States and what it was like when he first arrived in Washington. Danny served as ambassador under three different premiers, Benjamin Netanyahu, Ehud Barack and Ariel Sharon, during the presidency of George Bush. He describes his sense of awe when first arriving in Washington and his experiences meeting with the president, Secretaries of State Powell and Rice, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld and others. A number of particularly important issues arose during his time in Washington, including the second intifada, Gulf War and war in Lebanon, as well as Israel's decision to attack the Syrian nuclear reactor. Danny also shared some of the fascinating personal and professional insights he derived from this period. The podcast begins with a discussion of some of the major developments in recent weeks. Chuck expresses his deep concern over the already rising violence in the West Bank, even before the new government has taken over, including the appointment of radical new ministers who will intentionally fan the flames. He also foresees that their actions will spark the next conflict with Hamas, in a matter of weeks or months, and that this conflict may spread to Hezbollah and endanger the future of the Palestinian Authority. Danny shares some of Chuck's concerns, but believes that we can count on the experience and wisdom of Prime Minister Netanyahu to counterbalance the dangers. Chuck likens Danny's optimism to that of the Titanic's captain. Chuck and Danny then engage in a discussion of the latest developments in regard to Iran, including its decision to enrich uranium at the 60% level and spar once again over the options available to Israel and the US. Chuck believes that the approach adopted by Netanyahu and Trump was a typical example of right-wing overreach and utter failure. They correctly identified the problem, but set unrealistic goals, without a serious attempt to think things through and weigh the different options, and we are now paying the price in the form of Iran's enrichment and more. Both agree that Iran will be a primary focus of Netanyahu's new term as premier and that possible strains to the US-Israeli relationship will affect this. Join us as they agree and disagree, in detail and in-depth, always respectfully, on the critical issues Israel faces. The MirYam Institute. Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a recent conversation with Arizona's State Treasurer Kimberly Yee focusing on her leadership role in countering the dangerous anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Sanctions, and Divestment) movement. The conversation highlights the rise of anti-Semitism and how principled leaders across America are calling for principled actions against the BDS movement—a hateful campaign designed to delegitimize Israel and Jewish communities in America and around the world. Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee put investment firm Morningstar on notice and stated that it violated the state's anti-BDS law. The Jewish Insider | Morningstar ESG rating system violates Arizona anti-BDS law, treasurer says (https://jewishinsider.com/2022/08/arizona-kimberly-lee-morningstar-esg-sustainalytics/) “As Treasurer, it is my duty to ensure that Arizona does not do business with companies that are attempting to undermine Israel's economy and violate Arizona's anti-BDS law,” said Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee. “Morningstar's ESG rating subsidiary, Sustainalytics, appears to violate Arizona law by negatively impacting ratings of companies doing business in Israel. I continue to strongly oppose the use of woke ESG ratings in order to keep politics out of Arizonan's livelihoods and retirement accounts.” In Treasurer Yee's letter to Kunal Kapoor, CEO of Morningstar Inc., she informed Kapoor that the company had 30 days within receipt of her letter sent on August 18, 2022, to provide written certification explaining how Morningstar's usage of ESG ratings does not violate Arizona's anti-BDS law. Further, Treasurer Yee required that Morningstar must provide a written averment that they will not engage in any future boycott activities against Israel. “As Arizona's Chief Banking and Investment Officer, I stand with Israel, and I will not allow taxpayer dollars to become victim to the woke political gamesmanship of ESG ratings. ESG ratings are a political scorecard, not a financial scorecard,” said Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee. “I will not allow companies to promote policies that are antisemitic and discriminatory efforts against Israel, which is America's longtime friend and ally, and a significant trade partner with Arizona.” Treasurer Kimberly and Arizona's state government have stood in support of Israel's sovereignty and thwarted efforts of American companies working to boycott Israel. Last year in September 2021, Treasurer Yee withdrew $143 million of Arizona's public funds from Unilever, the parent company of Ben and Jerry's over the ice cream firm's decision to cease sales in Judea and Samaria also known as the West Bank, and east Jerusalem. A published report stated (https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/arizonas-state-treasurer-divests-funds-ben-jerrys-anti-semitic-boycott-israel) — "Arizona will not do business with companies that are attempting to undermine Israel's economy and blatantly disregarding Arizona's law," said Treasurer Kimberly Yee. She is Arizona's chief banking and investment officer and oversees the cash management of Arizona's $53 billion state budget and payments to agencies, local governments and schools. Upon taking office in January 2019, assets under management were at $15.4 billion. Today, assets under management stand at over $30.2 billion, an increase of 96 percent in 42 months. The Arizona Permanent Land Endowment Trust Fund has also hit historic record highs increasing by $1.9 billion in value under Treasurer Yee's administration as of June 30, 2022. Voluntary deposits into the Local Government Investment Pool have also increased by 75.4 percent under Treasurer Yee's leadership, reaching a balance of $5.54 billion in total assets as of June 30, 2022. Treasurer Yee led the effort to pass a state law requiring students to have financial education in high school before graduation, and was the first State Treasurer to have visited all 15 counties in Arizona during the first year of her administration. Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Kimberly Yee, State Treasurer of Arizona (https://www.aztreasury.gov/treasurer-kimberly-yee)and former Arizona Senate Majority Leader. Arizona and the Arizona Treasurer's Office was the first state to divest state funds from Ben & Jerry's due to their Israeli settlement boycott in Judea and Samaria last September. On September 7, 2021, Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee's divested $143 million of public funds from Unilever PLC, Ben and Jerry's parent company. Treasurer Kimberly Yee provides the latest update on Ben & Jerry's and the actions taken by its parent company Unilever. "As Arizona Treasurer, I've divested all state funds from Ben & Jerry's for boycotting Israel," Yee tweeted (https://twitter.com/KimberlyYeeAZ/status/1435279685399678982?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw). "Israel is and will continue to be a major trade partner of AZ. #IStandWithIsrael and I will not allow taxpayer dollars to go towards anti-Semitic, discriminatory efforts against Israel." The discussion with Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee also focuses on America's inflation surge and the solutions presented to address the nation's energy crisis and the national security at the southern border. Arizona spans more than 370 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is on pace to make more than 2 million arrests along the Mexico border during the 2022 fiscal year. On the energy front, Kimberly Yee has been a leading voice to hold to account the U.S. banking industry and the world's largest asset managers when it comes to efforts to boycott energy companies. In November 2021, Treasurer Yee joined a coalition of 15 Republican Treasurers, Auditors, and Comptrollers of states representing over $600 billion in public assets with a warning that it could potentially reduce future business with banks that cut off financing for oil, gas, and coal. The letter reads: "We have a compelling government interest, when acting as participants in the financial services market on behalf of our respective states, to select financial institutions that are not engaged in tactics to harm the very people whose money they are handling. Further, we have the responsibility, as fiduciaries and stewards of more than $600 billion (https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Republican-States-Could-Pull-600B-From-Anti-Fossil-Fuel-Banks.html), to ensure that our financial service providers are free from harmful conflicts of interest that could jeopardize state funds. Any financial institution that has adopted policies aimed at diminishing a large portion of our states' revenue has a major conflict of interest against holding, maintaining, or managing those funds." 11-23-2021 Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee Takes Action to Combat Biden Administration Efforts to De-Bank Reliable Energy Firms (https://www.aztreasury.gov/_files/ugd/8bb536_af14647f8e5d490cbc1783deb42c31f2.pdf) 11-22-2021 Letter from U.S. State Treasurers to the United States Banks to end boycott of reliable energy companies (https://www.aztreasury.gov/_files/ugd/8bb536_f9575958fcdb45f6a6b7d5d4cff8fea3.pdf) Bio | Kimberly Yee (https://www.aztreasury.gov/treasurer-kimberly-yee) Kimberly Yee is the State Treasurer of Arizona. Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Oded Revivi, mayor of Efrat, in the Gush Etzion region of Judea and Samaria, Israel. The conversation will review Israel's leadership role in strengthening the Abraham Accords, how the rule of law foundation fuels the Israeli market economy and trade, and with an update from Judea and Samaria. With U.S. President Joe Biden heading to the Middle East (July 13-16) with stops in Israel and Saudi Arabia, the discussion on America's Roundtable will also draw greater attention to the growing concern of the Iran nuclear threat. “Now Tehran is much closer to having enough fissile material for a nuclear bomb, though they do not appear to have resumed their weaponization program. But we are of course alarmed, as are our partners, about the progress they've made in the enrichment field. Iran has enough highly enriched uranium on hand to make a bomb and could do so in a matter of weeks." — Robert Malley, U.S. Special Envoy for Iran. Revivi served as Chief Foreign Envoy of the YESHA Council, heading the newly reinstated Foreign Affairs Department of the YESHA Council and acting as the official political representative of the Israeli settlement movement to the international community.
