This episode is all about my experience playing the Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap (Not For Me) Championship. I talk through the process of getting back into competitive golf, the nerves, the breathing, the whole process. I recap some of the highs and lows from four competitive rounds in the Grand Stand, including a massive downpour, a super round at Grande Dunes, getting my game back and meeting 12 really fun playing partners over four rounds. Grand Strand native Mitch Laurance joins me in the second half of the show to talk about his experience finishing fifth in his flight at the World Am. He also digs into the pride of the region in hosting this event, as well what he took away from playing three of four rounds with new Ben Hogan Golf irons and Knuth Golf woods.

Sunday's final round with Stenson pitted against Phil Mickelson was one for the ages. Stenson carded an 8-under 63 to tie Johnnie Miller's lowest final round score by a major champion. His 20-under 264 was the lowest 72-hole score ever in a major championship. Phil shot a final round 65 and finished with a 267. Mike Kern, Philadelphia Daily News, calls in to talk with Holly G and Kevin about the Open Championship. Mike said that it was the second time in four years that someone shot 20-under-par in a major. Mike mentions that Phil started the championship just missing out on a record 62 after his ball lipped out on the 18th hole and then shoots a bogey-free round Sunday but still loses by two strokes. Holly talks about the slump Stenson was in for a couple of years and how he has come back. Mike mentions that Tiger went through two different slumps during his career and was able to come back and play at a high level. Jordan Spieth is in a little bit of a slump and so is McIlroy. Mike said that's what makes Tiger's feat of a 10-year stretch playing at such an unbelievable level so phenomenal.  Long time sports writer and bestselling author Steve Eubanks, currently with Global Golf Post, calls in from the UL International Crown in Chicago to share his thoughts about the Open Championship.  Steve talks with Holly about LPGA Tour and Lydia Ko's fourth win of the season at the Marathon Classic in Ohio. Kevin, Steve and Holly talk about the team competitions on the LPGA Tour. The teams in the UL Crown is based on the World Rankings of the four team members. Lydia Ko and Brooke Henderson are the #1 and #2 players in the world will not be competing in the competition with not many other players for their country ranked high enough to qualify a team for the country. Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in to talk about the U.S. Open in Chambers Bay, Wash., talks about Tiger and his play of late. Bob said that Tiger's results were maybe a wake up call for Tiger and some of us with the way he played at The Masters. Bob and Jeff talk about the swing changes and how they take time. Tiger went through that before. Can't be talking and acting as if everything is okay when he shot his highest round of 85.  Bob and Jeff talk about Tiger and coming back too soon after his injuries and how much he may have set himself back doing that. Now he has a new swing coach. Jeff said he's been asking a question about how long can he put up with this and the second is he ready to retire. Bob says that he feels that there's  too much out there for him to retire and he feels like there's another run in him. Really nobody retires, they play on majors on both tours. Jeff asks about others like Phil Mickelson headed into the U.S. Open and what can we take away from some of their play of late and how that affects their outlook for the next Major. Bob said the golf course is so different. A good attitude is paramount and doing your homework. Bob said not to put too much stock in Rory's last two European events and his poor performance.  The Golf Insiders welcomes back Steve Eubanks, Global Golf Post, after being off for heart surgery. Steve calls in from the Women's PGA Championship in Westchester Country Club in Harrison, N.Y. in the first time with the PGA moniker. The talk about the new venue is outstanding. Last week Suzann Pettersen won the Manuflife LPGA Classic. Suzann lives in the Dr. Phillips area here in Central Florida. Jeff and Steve talk about Lydia Ko's chances as well as others. Mike Jamison, Executive Director of International Network of Golf, calls in to talk about the recent 25th Annual Spring Conference that was held at Mission Inn at Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla. About 160 people attended the conference including business and industry leaders in the golf world as well as many members of the golf media. Lance believes that the women's tournament overshadowed the men's this year for the first time in a while and both were played at The Concession Golf Club. It was a great two weeks of golf in Bradenton, Fla. The number one men's seed has never won the tournament and Lance feels that it is due to the match play format. Jeff and Lance talk about the collegiate players who then turn pro and how they have been successful whether they stay for four years or not.
