This week Dan and Joe are 'Live From LIV' with a bit of a different, but nonetheless jam-packed, episode of Kick Point. The lads were on site at JCB Golf & Country Club for the LIV UK event back in July and have lined up six WITB specials with some of the game's biggest names. This week, they're joined by Henrik Stenson who talks through his eclectic and somewhat aging bag of equipment. Yes, that iconic 3-wood is still in the bag but there's also some new nuggets and equipment tweaks the Ice Man is still making. Before they chat to Henrik, Joe wanted to sit back and take stock of the year in equipment so far. Seeing as it was the summer holidays when they recorded this, Dan and Joe spend some time grading each of the major equipment manufacturers year so far. Who goes home to happy parents with their A grade and who has plenty to work on going into next year?
Henrik Stenson joins and shares his thoughts on Ryder Cup Europe's new rankings. He also shares whether he thinks Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton will be on the team. Henrik also gets into the strengths of his game and gives helpful tips to improve our swing and short game.
Ahead of the year's final men's major, Garrett Morrison and Joseph LaMagna wrap up preparations for the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon. The two discuss early insights from player press conferences and potential weather in the area overnight on Wednesday before diving into a re-watch of the 2016 Open's final round. With notes on Henrik Stenson, Phil Mickelson, a baby-faced Tyrrell Hatton and more, Garrett and Joseph use the footage to break down how the golf course may play this week with how the game has changed. To wrap things up, it's a segment of picks and predictions for what will hopefully be another excellent weekend of golf.
Travis breaks down some swings from last week's winners on Tour & the 2016 Open Championship winner - Henrik Stenson.
Paul and Andy bring you another stonking H&J pod. They were joined by Open Winner 2016 Henrik Stenson, Comedian Garret Millerick and Squad Number 9 Martin Kelner. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
He was part of one of the most epic duels in Open history, when he and Phil Mickelson went head to head for the Claret Jug last time golf's most prestigious tournament was held at Troon in 2016 ... and he is also John Huggan's latest interview guest. There is so much more to Henrik Stenson than a brilliant golf game … he also has a sense of humour and a perspective on the world a bit broader than many of his professional brethren.Stenson sat down with our very own John Huggan recently to reflect on a career which has produced some remarkable highs, but also some equally intense lows.
After a sweet homecoming win at The Renaissance Club for Robert MacIntyre in dramatic fashion draining a 22ft birdie put on the 72nd to win his home Open and jump to a career high of 16th in the OWGR! It was a truly monumental day for Scotland! We are at the final Major Championship of the year on the men's side for the most prestigious Championship in all of Golf for the right to be called 'The Champion Golfer of The Year' its the 152nd edition of The Open Championship at Royal Troon as we return to the Ayrshire Links for the first time in 8 years after the historic dual of 2016 between Henrik Stenson & Phil Mickelson who completed lapped the field that week as the Swede became a Major Champion for the first time! This pristine links has added an extra 190+ yards since 2016 and will play as 7,350 yards Par 71. You will need to have everything working as you navigate this testing golf course! I was joined by Joe Idone (@TourPicks) on X as we breakdown Royal Troon and who the contenders this week might be after Brian Harman's rout of Royal Liverpool last July! We have a strong hand of selections this week. Scottie Scheffler returns having missed Scottish Open last week while we all have out say on Rory, Xander, Bryson, Morikawa & Ludvig! Joe is one of the most respected names in the Golf Content Industry and done a really good job here of providing good information! Could we see an 11th different name in a row on the Claret Jug in what has definitely been the most unpredictable Major of the 4! Listen & Download on Podbean, Spotify & Apple Podcast! Thanks
Send us a Text Message. With the final Major of the year upon us, golf fans around the world get to see what they love the most: the drama and excitement of the greatest players in the world competing head-to-head. This year, the Open Championship goes to Troon in Scotland, which last hosted the event in 2016, which saw the great head-to-head duel between Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson.Scottish Links golf epitomises the open championship, with pot bunkers and penal rough and uneven surfaces both in the fairway and on the green. Nowhere in tournament golf does the expression "luck of the bounce" appear more relevant. Hoping to continue on the hot streak of Golfing Mind podcasts success in picking both winners and top-five finishes this week, Robin and guest cohost Matt 'Lucky' Barr (who picked Bryson DeChambeau to win the US Open last month) discuss the players in form the players to look out for and who they separately believe will hold the Claret jug on Saturday evening. There is no such thing as a sure thing, but our predictions I have been on a very hot streak, as can be shown by listening to past broadcasts, so perhaps this may be an opportunity to put a few bets on a few players and sit on the edge of your seat for four days.https://www.siegergolf.com/offers/BaAEYBog/checkoutA Birkhall Media Production

The CEO of International Sports Management told The Mirror(opens in new tab) that for the likes of Westwood, the move to the big-money venture came as no surprise. He said: “Not at all. And not at all for anybody over 40. For Sergio [Garcia], [Ian] Poulter it was obvious, [Henrik] Stenson, Richard Bland, all these guys there was no doubt that this was a wonderful carrot for them and to get in at the beginning.” Between starting his career in golf and meeting great people along the way Chubby was meant to be negotiating contracts for other golfers as he did his entire life for himself. At this weekend's Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit, Tony Finau shocked the world and claimed the title of the World's Hottest Golfer, claiming his second consecutive victory. Hosts Alex Lauzon and Michael Russell ate their words and ponder Finau's future chances of winning the FedEx Cup and a major (1:39). Meanwhile at Trump Bedminster, LIV Golf made waves once again as Henrik Stenson proved why he jumped from Ryder Cup Captaincy to the Saudi backed tour, claiming victory in his first event against, as is now usual, poor performing field. Alex and Michael also share thoughts on David Feherty's new gig in the tower, and the heartbreaking announcement from Bubba Watson (5:56). The PGA Tour announced the new 2022-2023 season schedule and purse sizes, showing that LIV is making changes on the legacy tour as payouts increase by some $5-$8 million, or more, for many events in what will be the final wrap-around golf season (11:31). The newly minted CoL TopGolf Tour kicked off this weekend as Alex began a season of visiting different Top Golfs across the country with a trip to his local Austin driving range and watering hole (13:27). This week's guest is Gianna Gravalese, a TV, radio, and internet host from NESN, Dirty Water Media, and KISS108 in Boston. Gianna chats with Alex about her journey into Dirty Water Media, life eating and driving her way through the Boston food scene, and rubbing elbows with music's biggest stars at the annual Kiss Concert (20:43). Alex and Michael are perplexed at the name change of the former Robby Anderson, who is stealing headlines for his new and not that different legal name (47:41). As the guys #AlwaysEndWithFood, Alex is gearing up for a trip back up to Boston and all the food fun that comes with a trip home, while Michael is hoping Alex enjoys some of his home state's 42 ice cream shops on the New Hampshire Ice Cream Trail (49:42).

A magical week for Andy and Brendan at The Open comes to a close with this recap episode after the final round at The Old Course. After walking with Cam, Rory, and the rest, they relay what they saw and why it shook out the way it did. Cam's legendary final round is dissected, with a few key spots and shots picked out that seemed to turn the tide in the final hours. The Rory heartbreak is reviewed, with debate on whether he played it too safe or just got beat by the hot talent. There's one more occasion to reflect on and praise The Old Course, which had both feeling grateful to be present for this particular major. They discuss how it played and why it separated again on Sunday. Cam Young gets his due, as does a certain housecat. Then they wrangle with LIV returning to our lives promptly, with the new Champion Golfer of the Year not exactly shooting down questions about rampant LIV rumors surrounding him, Jon Rahm suggesting the tours negotiate with some strong words for the Euro Tour, and Henrik Stenson apparently jumping ship and losing his Ryder Cup captaincy.
If you need gambling advice for the Valspar Championship, this is the show for you. Andy and Brendan spend one whole minute offering their one and done picks for Tampa. Around that, however, is chatter about brackets, generally, the sponsor exemptions in Tampa, the story of Luke Guthrie, proud Illinois product, and the whether the designer of Copperhead, Larry Packard, is related to Hewlett Packard. This devolves into a discussion on printers and the scam of ink replacement. Also included in this episode is the Elijah Craig Masters Fact of the Day, which leads to a chat on the rental car situation for the upcoming Masters trip. News closes with Henrik Stenson as the new Euro skipper for the Ryder Cup and what that means, if anything, for the Saudi league.
