I'm a practising cardiologist, best-selling author, keynote speaker, and the creator of The Healthy Heart Network. I have over 20 years as a specialist cardiologist and a private practice of over 10,000 patients. Australia, like the rest of the western world, has a heart problem. Over 9 million people around the world die from heart disease every year. Every 10 minutes, someone in Australia suffers a heart attack. And 21 lives are lost daily because of it. The devastating fact in all of this is… Every one of those cases could have been prevented.

There's a popular Chinese proverb that says: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” This saying couldn't be more true when deciding when to turn your idea into a profitable business. Most people sit on the sideline, mostly out of fear, to start a business, relationship, or anything, because they make excuses in their heads to convince themselves that it just isn't the right time. Don't be this person! Be the person that makes goals, goes all in on those goals, smashes them, and never looks back. Ask any business owner or entrepreneur what they would change about when they started their business and I can guarantee you they would say they wish they started earlier. If you are still on the fence about when to turn your idea or skill into a money-making business, get started by watching this show!

Undoubtedly, in our lives as business owners, we will reach a point where we find ourselves considering selling our businesses. Some owners may feel like they've already achieved a certain goal while others may want to sell their business to raise funds for a new venture. Whatever the reason is, we business owners need to be prepared, and we need to take a step back and evaluate whether it's really time to exit our businesses. In this episode, I outline the factors that determine whether a business owner is ready to sell their company. I explain why many business owners feel regretful within a year of selling their businesses and discuss how you can avoid experiencing an identity crisis after exiting your business. I also describe the "trigger" events that make owners want to transition their companies and underscore why an exit plan is essential to a successful business sale. “With real estate, it's ‘location, location, location.' With business exits, it's timing, timing, timing.” - Justin Goodbread This week on the Financially Simple Experience: The factors that determine you're ready to sell your business Thinking about the goals and life you want to have after business Evaluating your personal finances How to avoid regret and identity crisis after selling your business Putting together a transition team before selling your company Building a solid contingency plan Understanding your "trigger" events and defining the "win" for your business The contents of an exit plan Resources Mentioned: Book: Walking to Destiny: 11 Actions An Owner MUST Take to Rapidly Grow Value & Unlock Wealth by Christopher Snider Our Favorite Quotes: “Without an exit plan, you could put yourself in a position where you'd regret selling your company within a year.” - Justin Goodbread “We want to build the business—and you—in a way that whenever opportunities and wins cross paths, you are completely prepared.” - Justin Goodbread “It was because of exit planning that I was able to accomplish an unbelievable dream of mine: to reach a certain number, and to position employees and clients to where they can win.” - Justin Goodbread About The Financially Simple Podcast If you are looking for a podcast that speaks directly to the challenges and puzzles of running a business, you've come to the right place. To be honest, I think that small business is taking over the world like even GEN Zers as it turns out in the statistics say over 62% of them already plan to be entrepreneurs so the entrepreneur lifestyle is not going anywhere anytime soon which means that it's time to start now
Are you sitting on the fence about buying your next home? Maybe you were not on the fence at all, but the rising mortgage interest rates, and inflation has given you pause. You are not alone on this. The real estate market has shifted rapidly over the last couple of months, and it has left a lot of people trying to figure out what the best move is. Maybe you wanted to sell and move to a new location, or you need more space, or maybe you're ready to downsize, but you've got an awesome interest rate on your current mortgage, and you don't want to go buy another home at the current rate. These are all things we have been hearing all over the place. A lot of people are thinking of just sitting things out for now and hoping the interest rates, and home prices fall. The risk we see with this plan is that we are not seeing an increase in housing inventory and we are not hearing any predictions that prices are going to fall considerably. With the impact of inflation it is still very possible we will see prices continue to rise. And if you are renting, rents are on the rise as well, and while you are renting your interest is 100%. As we like to say, the best time to buy a home was 5 years ago, but the next best time is now. This week we are digging into all the reasons that this is still a good time to buy, and you've still got options to get yourself into a house that you love. Let's dive in!

In this episode, I talk about the value of discipline in today's world and why this year is the best time to work hard. Throughout the episode, I touch on the difference in generations in relation to working hard. During the Great Depression era, hard work was the standard to survive. There was no laziness because the circumstances didn't permit it. Over time, those hard workers created a better life for future generations. Now, we're living in a generation that resulted from the hard-working generation. Unfortunately, the current generation seems too accustomed to this easy standard of living that it shies away from hard work. We're so used to automation and technology that being lazy becomes the default. As humans, we are capable of so much more, yet, we never unlock our true potential because we're not working hard enough. We have access to more information and opportunities than ever but use them as distractions instead of tools for success, such as social media and the internet. So, my challenge to you is to stand out and create the life you were meant to live by becoming disciplined and persistent. Use the luxuries we have as tools for success rather than immediate gratification. Enduring pain now will produce easier times later. Now is the best time to stand out because society has gone soft. It's easier to win a race when everyone else is standing still. I hope you enjoyed this episode, and let me know in the comments if you want to see more content like this.
