Former McKeesport, Penn State and NFL LB Brandon Short joined the show. Brandon endured a personal tragedy that resulted in the death of his daughter and her unborn child 5 years ago. With that, he setup the Karli Short Better Tomorrow Foundation. He told Chris about what the foundation means to him and his family, and the rest of the community. Growing up in McKeesport, Brandon talked about his own experience with government funding and getting helped with meals, and how he may not have ended up reaching the career heights without that. 75-year-old Ronald Racki faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of Laikyn Marie West, 24. Laikyn's roommate reported her missing in September 2024 when she left their home in Bradenton, Florida, and never returned. Police said they discovered Racki had been talking with Laikyn West for months before her disappearance, and a digital trail led them to believe he murdered her. Laikyn's body has never been found. Jason said Johnson is only 21 and will likely start in Triple A, so he's not behind schedule. Jason believes the plan is for Nick Gonzales to play SS to begin the season, assuming Konnor Griffin isn't here yet. What kind of options do the Pirates have to improve their defense? Jason doesn't have a ton of concerns with the Pirates outfield, including Oneil Cruz and Bryan Reynolds. Both pitchers put up a solid performance to build on this spring. The offense was pretty light but some players to highlight were Ryan O'Hearn, Jake Mangum, Jared Triolo, and Duce Gourson. The bullpen let down both teams, but it was mostly by pitchers who are much further away from making the big league roster.
