Cordial saludo, les presentamos en Biografía y Vidas a la Bandas Train Train es una banda rock pop estadounidense nacida en el año de 1994 en San Francisco, California. Los inicios de Train tuvieron lugar hace casi 26 años cuando Pat Monahan conoció a Rob Hotchkiss, el anterior cantante de una banda llamada Apostles, cuando ambos vivían en Los Ángeles. Ambos artistas se trasladaron a San Francisco y empezaron a actuar en un café con escenario. Al poco Pat y Rob redondearon su sonido acústico con la incorporación de Jimmy Stafford (guitarra principal) y Charlie Colin (bajo), anteriores compañeros de Hotchkiss en la banda llamada Apostles y poco después Scott Underwood se unió a Train como baterista. Esto ocurría en 1994 y desde entonces han estado de gira, pasando por cafés, pequeñas actuaciones, de teloneros en giras y como artistas principales en sus propios conciertos. Todo parece haber empezado para Train en verano de 1999. Gracias en parte al posicionamiento estratégico de Aware 5, el quinto álbum de recopilación del sello que lanzaba a grupos como Better Than Ezra y Matchbox Twenty. Pues bien... "Meet Virginia" canción de Train, rozó los primeros puestos de las listas, pero quedándose tímidamente detrás del número uno. El momento cumbre para Train fue cuando la banda se presentó en un concierto para la radio de Philadelphia aquel verano de 1999, relata Pat Monahan que “justo cuando estábamos en el backstage esperando para salir, oímos a miles de personas coreando el nombre de nuestra banda. En cierto modo sabíamos que teníamos nuestros fans por el país, pero hasta que no tuvimos el éxito en la radio, no habíamos sido capaces de comprobarlo de un modo tan verídico. Y eso fue todo un subidón" describe Pat Monahan. Alcanzó su fama con su álbum debut, Train, el cual fue lanzado en 1998 con el hit "Meet Virginia". Su segundo álbum, Drops of Jupiter (2001), trajo a la banda una masiva popularidad. El primer sencillo del álbum, "Drops of Jupiter fue la canción (Tell Me)", fue un éxito internacional y ganó dos Premios Grammy en el año 2002. El álbum fue certificado doble platino en los Estados Unidos y Canadá y sigue siendo el álbum más vendido de la banda hasta la fecha. Su tercer álbum de estudio, fue My Private Nation, publicado en 2003. Continuó el éxito de la banda, y fue certificada platino en los Estados Unidos con el éxito "Calling All Angels". Tras la partida de Hotchkiss y Colin, la banda lanzó su cuarto álbum, For Me, It's You en 2006, con Johnny Colt en el bajo y Brandon Bush en el teclado. A pesar de ser bien recibido por las críticas, el álbum no fue un éxito comercial. Train entonces cesó su actividad por tres años. A finales de 2009 y volviendo a sus raíces, graban Save Me, San Francisco, Train recuperó y acrecentó su antiguo éxito con dos de sus singles: Save Me, San Francisco y "Hey, Soul Sister", ocupando y manteniendo altas posiciones en el Billboard Hot 100, nº3 y nº34, respectivamente. El álbum ha sido certificado Oro, tanto por RIAA como por ARIA y actualmente está acercando su posición a platino. – Tambien cabe anotar que la RIAA certificó x6 multi-platino al hit internacional "Hey, Soul Sister".
