For over 50 years, For the Strength of Youth has been a guide for generations of Latter-day Saint youth. I always keep a copy in my pocket, and I share it with people who are curious about our standards. It has been updated and refreshed to better cope with the challenges and temptations of our day. The new version of For the Strength of Youth is available online in 50 different languages and will also be available in print. It will be a significant help for making choices in your life. Please embrace it as your own and share it with your friends. This new version of For the Strength of Youth is subtitled A Guide for Making Choices. To be very clear, the best guide you can possibly have for making choices is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the strength of youth. So the purpose of For the Strength of Youth is to point you to Him. It teaches you eternal truths of His restored gospel—truths about who you are, who He is, and what you can accomplish with His strength. It teaches you how to make righteous choices based on those eternal truths.13 It's also important to know what For the Strength of Youth does not do. It doesn't make decisions for you. It doesn't give you a “yes” or “no” about every choice you might ever face. For the Strength of Youth focuses on the foundation for your choices. It focuses on values, principles, and doctrine instead of every specific behavior. The Lord, through His prophets, has always been guiding us in that direction. He is pleading with us to “increase [our] spiritual capacity to receive revelation.”14 He is inviting us to “hear Him.”15 He is calling us to follow Him in higher and holier ways.16 And we are learning in a similar way every week in Come, Follow Me. Today, our interdenominational Christian ministry serves the poor in primarily 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Thanks to our faithful donors, we are able to provide food, housing, healthcare, education, fresh water, emergency relief, micro-enterprise solutions and much more. We are proud to have fed millions of people and provided more than 15.7 billion dollars in aid. Our faith inspires us to be an organization built on compassion, and motivated by love. Our mission is to bring relief to the poorest of the poor in the countries where we serve. We strive to reflect God's unconditional love. It's a sacrificial love that embraces all people regardless of race or religion. We believe that we can show His love by serving the “least of these” on this earth as Christ challenged us to do in Matthew 25. We pray that by God's grace, and with your support, we can continue to bring relief to the suffering and hope to the hopeless. --------------------------------------------------------

Bill Gallentine shares today about how we can apply God's peace in our daily lives to help us make peace with others around us. We then broke into small discussion groups to dive deeper into the teaching. Then we came together to share our discussions with the larger group. What if you could learn the secrets of fatherhood straight from the Bible's most famous parable? Today, we bring you a heartfelt exploration of fatherhood through the story of the prodigal son, starting with a humorous checklist to determine if you're truly a dad. We then dive into the Gospel of Luke to understand how the father's compassion and forgiveness provide a timeless example for every father. We reflect on the short time we have to shape our children's lives with love, discipline, and guidance.Fatherhood is no easy journey, filled with complexities and challenges that we navigate together through personal anecdotes and reflections. Children mirror not just our physical traits but our attitudes and behaviors as well. We touch on the importance of adapting to each child's unique personality and love language, emphasizing positive reinforcement. As our children grow, letting go becomes a crucial yet challenging part of fatherhood, and we explore the power of persistent prayer and trusting in God's plan for their futures.Do you ever wonder about the steadfast love that should define fatherhood? We draw powerful parallels to God's unconditional love, illustrated in the parable of the prodigal son. This episode also addresses the misconceptions that come from negative earthly father experiences, revealing the true nature of our Heavenly Father as loving and merciful. Concluding with a heartfelt prayer for all fathers, we seek God's guidance to love their children as He loves us. Join us for a spiritually enriching discussion that helps fathers everywhere navigate their vital roles with grace and wisdom.Video available at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_cbpGOf6wg

Mary Mwiche Zulu, a seasoned advocate for social justice hailing from Zambia, finds in the Joint Learning Initiative (JLI) a resonant platform that bridges her fervent beliefs in education, gender equality, and faith-driven community enhancement. As an ordained minister and educator within the United Church of Zambia, her engagement with JLI is not merely professional but deeply personal. Mary sees JLI as an essential nexus where faith intersects with sustainable development, offering both a reflective and action-oriented space. Her commitment to using education as a lever for equality and her active role in combating gender-based violence through faith communities epitomize the synergetic potential she identifies in JLI. It is a conduit for harnessing the underappreciated power of faith in cultivating a more just and equitable world. Finding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will help us have the power to endure and overcome challenges in life. ""Many of you are now passing through physical, mental, and emotional trials that could cause you to cry out, 'When I've tried all my life to be good, why has this happened to me?' Now I wish to encourage those who in the midst of hard trials who feel their faith may be fading under the onslaught of troubles. There seems to me no better answer to the question of why trials come, and what we are to do, than the words of the Lord Himself, who passed through trials for us more terrible than we can imagine. You may have seen the need for that foundation as I have, at the bedside of someone ready to give up the fight to endure to the end. If the foundation of faith is not embedded in our hearts, the power to endure will crumble. [Mother yelling to her son] Moroni, the son of Mormon in the Book of Mormon told us how. He teaches the simple and sweet truth that acting on even a twig of faith allows God to grow it. That particle of faith -most precious- which you should protect, and use to whatever extent you can, is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. You and I have faith, that the way to rise through and above trials, is to believe that there is a Balm in Gilead, and that the Lord has promised, 'I will not forsake thee. 'Curing does not come automatically through the passage of time, but it does take time. Getting older does not do it alone, it is serving God and others persistently with full heart and soul that turns testimony of truth into unbreakable spiritual strength. If we have faith in Jesus Christ, the hardest, as well as the easiest of times in life can be a blessing. In all conditions all we can choose the right with the guidance of the spirit. We have the gospel of Jesus Christ shape and guide our lives if we choose it. We never need to feel that we are alone or unloved in the Lord's service because we never are. We can feel the love of God. The Savior has promised angels are on our left and on our right to bear us up, and He always keeps His word. His love is unfailing I so testify, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. This is an edited version of this selection. Nate Moore is a writer and artist with Housefires, plus he's a worship leader, a songwriter, and a pastor and today he's talking with Sadie about making music and making moments with people that you love, why doing a FEW things well is one of the best pieces of advice he's ever received, and how to turn "have-to" into "get-to" in your faith walk. Nate admits his early years as a Christian were a "check-the-box" version: read your Bible - check, go to church - check, pray - check — but an experience in college changed all that and his outlook transformed to a "get-to" attitude in his walk with God. Sadie and Nate share different ways they experienced the call of God on their lives and reiterate that when God's calling you, it doesn't have to make sense to anyone else! Nate remembers the early days in Atlanta where Housefires began and the moment he says was "the most special moment in worship he's ever seen" when "Good Good Father" was first spoken — and he has Sadie saying, "That's SO good" many times when he explains the origin of his first tattoo and how a two-degree shift can change EVERYTHING for you in your life! https://www.trymiracle.com/whoa — Get 40% off + 3 FREE towels with code WHOA at checkout! https://athleticgreens.com/whoa — Get a FREE 1-year supply of Vitamin D & 5 FREE travel packs with your first purchase! https://www.auraframes.com — Get up to $30 off on Aura's best-selling frames when you use code WHOA at checkout! - Learn more about your ad choices.
