"Wo kommen die ganzen guten Anime auf einmal her, ich dachte die Season wäre nichts." - Lukas, einige Tage vor der Aufnahme. Julian erging es ähnlich und endete aufgrund seiner Experimentierfreudigkeit (und zu viel Freizeit) mit ganzen 27 Titeln diese Anime-Season. Die klaren Highlights sind wahrscheinlich die Sequels. Dazu gehören die 3. Staffel von "Fire Force", wo die Erinnerungslücken doch größer waren als gedacht, "Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary" Staffel 2 und wenn es dazuzählen darf "Lycoris Recoil: Friends Are Thieves of Time". Die 2 Minuten des Spin-Offs haben Julian Energie für die gesamte Woche verliehen. Genauso sehr freut ihn, dass einer seiner liebsten Themenkomplexe "Hexen" diese Season auf so vielfältige Weise bedient wird: Ein wenig Yuri in "Killing Slimes", nette Comedy in "Witch Watch" und "Once Upon a Witch's Death", was eine interessante Mischung aus all dem und ein wenig Melancholie verbindet. Ein neuer "Gundam" und "Sword of the Demon Hunter" sorgen für ein wenig mehr Action. Und letzteres greift auch einen weiteren roten Faden auf, der sich durch die Season zieht: die Male Fantasy, die Männer wirklich wollen. Der Titel, der diese Season aber wahrscheinlich am besten verkörpert, ist "Apocalypse Hotel": Unkonventionell, zeigt sein Potential erst in der 2. Episode und wird wahrscheinlich unter dem Radar laufen.

Comprised of friends Arc and Eris, Set The Sun is a modern metal outfit whose sound blends elements of electronic, metalcore, progressive rock, numetal, and industrial for a cinematic and emotive listening experience. The duo collaborates with other talented musicians they reference as "The Collective," which includes the likes of Ryan Clark (Demon Hunter), Clint Lowery (Sevendust), DJ Lethal (Limp Bizkit), Michael Lessard (The Contortionist), and producer Forrester Savell, among others. In July 2022, Set The Sun dropped their debut EP entitled In Absentia, Vol. 1. That initial release resonated with heavy music fans, and included songs like "The Way Back" (featuring DJ Lethal & TELLE) and "Invisible" (featuring Ryan Clark). In November 2023, Set The Sun released their debut LP entitled At War. Featuring everything from the emotional tribute track to Chester Bennington in "A Better Way To Bleed," to the thunderous chorus in "The Truth" with Clint Lowery, and the introspective "The Impossible," the debut record was a hit with modern rock fans. On this episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Lane Steele of Worldwide Panic! Based in Los Angeles, Worldwide Panic is a hard rock/alternative metal band that formed in 2016. Over the years, the band has put the work in and built their audience through touring with the likes of Flaw, Smile Empty Soul, Mushroomhead, and The Convalescence. In 2023, Worldwide Panic dropped their self-title debut LP. Mastered by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Hatebreed, Rob Zombie, Shadows Fall, Demon Hunter), the album produced heavy hitters like "Burn Letter" and "Another Side of Me," as well as the Active Rock Radio charting singles "I Tried" and "Falling Apart." On November 1st, 2024, Worldwide Panic released "Break Me Down," the first single off their forthcoming album The Greatest Villain The World Has Even Seen. In a short period of time, "Break Me Down" is already resonating with hard rock and metal fans. The music video for the single is nearing 100k YouTube views, with the song itself reaching No. 9 on the Top 50 Mainstream/Active Rock Chart for SMR. In this episode, Lane chats with Mike about his childhood and how he got into heavy music, navigating the music industry over two-plus decades, the formation and evolution of sound for Worldwide Panic, working with the aforementioned "Zeuss" and Bob Marlette, the early success of "Break Me Down," making cool covers like Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time," and more. In addition to Zao, Demon Hunter, and other well known Christian bands, you hear from Pansy Division, Steve Albini, and a host of lapsed as well as true believers. We even hear from son of disgraced televangelist Jim Bakker. Hot damn! Can't stress it enough: this movie is actually good and actually worth your time if you have any interest in 2000s evangelical youth culture, the pairing of Christianity and right wing politics, and the business of Christian music.
