Obama Care Distortions to ring in the New Year – before you want to ring someone’s neck. You could lose your health care policy because it is sub-par even though it’s a good policy. And you could have signed up – but those first few days of January you might not be able to go to the doctor.Or you could get hit with a 55-thousand dollar hospital bill for appendicitis. You will have to hear this to believe it. But you will understand the screwed medical delivery system in our country – the same one our esteemed and paid off speaker of the house calls the greatest. It is Tuesday, December 31, 2013 – coming to you from Sunset Beach, NC.Our Informed Not Inflamed Health Care expert is Michelle Katz. She is a nurse, patient advocate, and a blogger. You can catch Michelle on ABC News as a health contributor. Her website is health care hacker dot-org. She comes to us from Southern California.
We’re talking Obamacare Distortions again. The web page screw ups have led to more political wrangling that only helps politicians on both sides of the aisle raise money, while leaving many Americans scratching their heads.Michelle Katz is our health expert. She is a nurse, blogger, and patient advocate among other things. Her website is health care hacker dot-org. She comes to us from Southern California. We will avoid the politics of this and get to – what people need to know and what to do.First, cancellations went out because current or old policies did not meet the requirements of the new Affordable Care Act. People could still get a policy – on the exchanges -- that will be better but not necessarily cheaper or more expensive. The problem is getting on the website to get to those newer policies.
Today we’re going to talk about these 3 things. First, we’re going to break the story about Obamacare is now sending money to foreign governments. Second, what to do since it’s apparent that you can lose your health insurance or you might not be able to sign up for health insurance with the computer disaster. We’ll get that from our health care expert. And third, we’re lucky to have Michelle. She was in a dangerous accident and then had to deal with our health care industry.
Health Care Expert Michelle Katz discusses two more distortions about ObamaCare. The first is the postponement of the out of pocket money we have to pay. It has been moved to 2015. The second is another Republican distortion saying the IRS can get to your medical records.
More from Michelle Katz, our health care expert. This time we look at the role of the health insurance industry in making costs go up. We also talk about the fall-out of my book review of Catastrophic Care.
