We're back with part two of our Age of Imprisonment / Switch 2 / life as a Nintendo fan lately Q&A, and we have a ton of fun questions and theories to get through, including: Andy's insistence that we see Din, Nayru, and Farore in the new Hyrule Warriors game; how will the Tingle Tuner work in The Wind Waker on NSO? How could the Zelda series best utilize the mouse controls on the Switch 2? Which Zelda characters have a shot to be added to Mario Kart World? Is it possible we already know the identities of the ancient sages in the Imprisoning War? Is the Ancient Hero's Aspect somehow related to Rauru and Sonia? fWotD Episode 2479: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages Welcome to featured Wiki of the Day where we read the summary of the featured Wikipedia article every day.The featured article for Saturday, 17 February 2024 is The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages are two 2001 action-adventure games in the The Legend of Zelda series. They were developed by Flagship (a subsidiary of Capcom) and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color. The player controls Link from an overhead perspective. In Seasons, the Triforce transports Link to the land of Holodrum, where he sees Onox kidnap Din, the Oracle of Seasons. In Ages, the Triforce transports Link to Labrynna, where Veran possesses Nayru. The main plot is revealed once the player finishes both games. Link is armed with a sword and shield as well as a variety of secondary weapons and items for battling enemies and solving puzzles. The central items are the Rod of Seasons, which controls the seasons in Holodrum, and the Harp of Ages, which lets Link travel through time in Labrynna. Before he can infiltrate Onox's castle and Veran's tower, Link must collect the eight Essences of Nature and the eight Essences of Time, which are hidden in dungeons and guarded by bosses. After experimenting with porting the original Legend of Zelda to the Game Boy Color, the Flagship team, supervised by Yoshiki Okamoto, began developing three interconnected Zelda games that could be played in any order. The complexity of this system led the team to cancel one game. Both Seasons and Ages were a critical success, and sold 3.96 million units each. Critics complimented the gameplay, colorful designs and graphic quality, but criticized the inconsistent sound quality. Both games were re-released on the Virtual Console of Nintendo 3DS in May 2013, and on the Nintendo Switch Online service in July 2023.This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 01:34 UTC on Saturday, 17 February 2024.For the full current version of the article, see The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm Justin Standard.

Br Lawrence MGL and Fr Dave Tremble MGL have tag teamed once more to write The Lonely Little Cave, an original story written during and for the Easter Triduum. Enter into the story of the Little Cave, whose emptiness, loneliness and uselessness becomes the very means of encountering our Lord! May it inspire you to enter deeper into the mystery and drama of Easter! Excerpt: "There was once a lonely little cave in a hillside. The cave was unhappy because it always felt empty. Nearby, a majestic Gum Tree taunted it day and night saying “Look at my branches, they house many pretty birds. But you Cave, are a useless hole!” And so, the cave believed it was a useless hole. The presence of a nearby River also taunted the cave. She seemed to gloat “I am always moving and changing, and see how many fish swim in my waters! But you Cave, cannot change. Nobody wants to be with you!” And so the cave believed that it couldn't change, and that nobody wanted to be with it..." Music credits:The beautiful dove's song is actually a cover of Nayru's theme from the Legend of Zelda. Used with permission from the artists. We just barely manage to pass Nayru’s Silent Realm and finally receive the Clawshots as reward. Able to access new areas, we explore the Lanayru Desert, meeting two new Gorons named Golo and Gortram along the way. Finding ourselves facing an ancient sea now turned to a sandy wasteland, we meet an Ancient Robot named Skipper once charged with captaining the ship that protected the Sacred Flame. With his help we find the elusive vessel and board, ready to find the next flame. Sit down with your hosts, Shannon and Joe, as they play, discuss and theorize their way through Nintendo's Legend of Zelda video games in the timeline order noted in the Hyrule Historia. This week Shannon and Joe venture into the Ancient Cistern and meet a few old frenemies, including Froaks and creeping Skulltulas, and cross blades with the most imposing Stalfos yet. Deep below the pristine water in the Ancient Cistern we stumble into an episode of Walking Dead: Bokoblins. Once the secrets of the Ancient Cistern are revealed Link checks-in with a fussy Ghirahim and then deftly defeats the Ancient Automaton, Koloktos, using the mysteriously useful Whip to tear apart its mechanical limbs. Fi obtains the first sacred flame which holds the power of Farore and uses it to strengthen the Goddess Sword. Link also obtains the Triforce of Courage! Back above the cloud barrier Link travels back to the Isle of Songs and learns Nayru’s Wisdom which will be the key for accessing Nayru’s Trial - an adventure for next week!
