We've all heard the phrase “listen to your gut”. We may not fully realize it, but our gut plays a pivotal role in our overall physical and mental health. While proper nutrition, supplementation, and mindful lifestyle habits play a large role on our gut health, there are also deeper psychological factors that we need to be mindful of as well. In this episode, our hosts sit down with acclaimed integrative health physician and author of Happy Gut, Dr. Vincent Pedre. Dr. Pedre is the President of Dr. Pedre Wellness and is a Board-Certified Internist in a private practice in New York City since 2004. His philosophy and practices are a blend of both Western and Eastern medical traditions. He is also certified in yoga and Medical Acupuncture. Dr. Pedre is also a sought-after speaker and writer on sustainable health, prevention, and integrative and functional medicine. This episode shares a lot of valuable information on how we can all strive to better our health. Cheers!

When we worry we are actually setting ourselves a goal to fail. The future belongs to the risk takers not the security seekers.
The Word of God has a lot to say about how to conquer fear. "I sought the Lord and he heard me and delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4
You were not made for the safety of the sanctuary; you were created by God to boldly carry the good news to the world. It takes courage.
The fear of failure and the fear of rejection are two major hindrances to moving forward in faith to accomplish great things for God and His Kingdom. You can overcome both - give a listen.
You can prepare to be courageous. The trial or testing of your faith today is preparation for the greater challenge of tomorrow.
Some examples of courage that overcomes fear. You may be surprised to learn that God uses average people to do extraordinary things.
What is courage? "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed" Joshua 1:9 KJV
Here are some practical ideas on overcoming fear. You can do this.
There may be a scientific name for what you fear but do not worry - Jesus has overcome that fear and He will give you the victory over it as well.
Understanding our fears is a good starting place. The Bible speaks of at least 3 types of fear. Let's take a closer look.
"Courage is not the absence of fear but the mastery of it." -Mark Twain
Who among us has not been paralyzed by fear? In this episode, award-winning journalist Jaimal Yogis explains why fear so often dominates our lives, what makes it tick, and how we can use fear to our advantage. He shares with us his experiences living in a monastery, overcoming heartbreak, and how we all can emerge triumphant from even the most paralyzing of fear, sadness and loss. Learn how fear evolved in the human brain, how to use the latest neuroscience to transform fear memories. Discover why fear spreads between us and how to counteract fearful "group think," and how to turn fear into a performance enhancer - athletically and at work. A graduate of the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, Jaimal Yogis is the author of the best-sellers Saltwater Buddha, a coming-of-age memoir about how surfing and the sea helped him transition back to the world after a year in a Zen monastery (now also a documentary film); and The Fear Project, which looks at the neuroscience of fear and courage, using science, mindfulness, and sports to reveal ways in which humans can live more fully. His new book, All Our Waves Are Water: stumbling toward enlightenment and the perfect ride, uses the sea as a metaphor to explore the true self. Jaimal's writing has appeared in ESPN Magazine, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, and many others. He teaches meditation and creative writing at places like Spirit Rock, Kripalu, 1440 Multiversity, and the Writing Pad.
