It's not been my own strength that's gotten me through. It's because of him.”Kelly studied Elementary Education and now works as a dyslexia tutor. She enjoys being a mother to her three children and working as the baptism coordinator in church. Her parents divorced when she was a child. Her father struggled with alcoholism and her mother's role as a single parent had a big impact on Kelly's upbringing.Alcoholism is a generational curse her family has struggled with. However, Kelly is determined to end the cycle of divorce and alcoholism in her own family. From a young age, her mother brought her to Church and taught her about belief in Jesus. She fondly recalls her own baptism when she was just 5 years old. While Kelly has always believed in Jesus, there were times when she rebelled as a young adult.[07:02] Finding God and Grace Amidst IllnessKendall, one of Kelly's children, has a heart defect and lung issues since birth. She has undergone extensive testing, multiple surgeries, and procedures to treat her condition.During this time, Kelly felt emotionally and spiritually exhausted, finding it hard to pray and find God during the worst of Kendall's illness. The turning point came when she heard the Holy Spirit's call to find grace even amidst her child's suffering. [17:08] Kelly: “I realized fully that our children are not our own. They're loaned to us. They're God's children and He is her Father, and He knows what's best for her.”She drew strength from 2 Corinthians 12:9 and found herself trusting God more. She found comfort in surrendering to God's plan.As her family faced these challenges, Kelly and Kyle struggled with the strain it put on their marriage. Despite this, her husband remained a calming presence amidst the crisis.[22:46] Medical Challenges and Miraculous RecoveriesKendell continued to undergo multiple treatments and surgeries. With time, prayer, and community support, Kendall greatly improved and was on the road to recovery.Unfortunately, Cade, her son, was also diagnosed with epilepsy causing frequent and severe seizures. At first, Kelly relied on natural remedies and essential oils. However, she realized her reliance on natural medicine was a barrier to her faith. Kelly decided to seek God first and shift her approach to health and healing to focus on prayer and God's guidance.[35:39] Overcoming Spiritual Attacks with JesusKelly shares her terrifying experiences with sleep paralysis during the day. She was paralyzed and helpless against the attacks against her. With the help of prayer, she realized that these experiences were spiritual attacks by demonic forces.Kelly turned to prayer and deliverance through Jesus to strengthen her. By saying the Lord's Prayer, she was able to regain control of her body. This terrifying experience strengthened her faith in Jesus.[43:19] Becoming God's Sober ServantKelly quit drinking alcohol in August with the help of God's calling. It was a difficult journey, and she struggled with the transition to giving up alcohol due to expectations. After quitting, Kelly found positive changes in her marriage and family. She experienced a newfound sense of peace within her after times of crisis and chaos. She started new habits and routines that brought stability and joy into her life. It's important to live in obedience to experience the peace that God offers us.[48:03] A Deeper Journey of Healing and FaithKelly found healing through the Bible and being a part of a church community. She also decided to seek help through therapy. As she experiences healing, Kelly and Reagan discuss the importance of addressing past trauma and emotional wounds. If you're facing a similar struggle and seek peace and healing, trust God. Even during difficult times, it's important to obey Him.Read the Bible and stay grounded in your faith. Experience the joy and peace that come from a deep relationship with God. [55:06] Kelly: “On the other side of that obedience is the fruit and the gift of peace, the peace that passes understanding. So sometimes you just have to do the hard thing and trust him even when you can't see.”About Kelly KingKelly King is a devoted wife, mother of three, and passionate follower of Jesus Christ. With a background in Elementary Education, she works as a tutor for the dyslexic. Kelly has found strength, peace, and faith in God amidst the challenges her family has faced. Active in her church, Kelly serves as the baptism coordinator and continues to seek spiritual growth and healing.Listen to the full episode to learn more about Kelly's journey of faith and the struggles and trials that shaped her relationship with God.Enjoyed this Episode? If you did, subscribe and share it with your friends!Post a review and share it! In its most basic form, Women's Ministry isn't about fancy events or complicated Bible studies; it's about meeting women's needs where they are. Lifeway Women's Ministry Specialist Kelly King shares how we can create a lifestyle of women's ministry that helps get women in the Word, providing encouragement and creating a deeply desired community. Kelly also gives us some practical ideas for troubleshooting challenges that may arise, along with basic leadership principles to help us grow as ministry wives in leadership. SHOW NOTES Successful women's ministries are centered on God's Word and create an atmosphere of friendship and authenticity. When trying to start a new women's ministry, look at the needs of the women in your church and community. How can you encourage them and lead them towards Jesus? If you are willing to listen to feedback, the Lord can help change you to love and lead others better. QUOTES “Number one, women need encouragement. So start there. How are we encouraging women, but also how are we calling them to embrace who Christ is through their relationship and through intimacy in His word? And then how do we echo His heart for the world? God’s word gets in us, but it changes us and there needs to be an outward expression of that.” -Kelly King “We are all wired very differently, and God has made us so unique. So don’t look at another leader and feel like ‘I’m just not like her.’ Walk in the person, the woman that God has created you to be. Don’t compare, be you. Because when you’re you, then that’s the best you can give someone else.” -Kelly King Links from the Show Scarlet Hiltibidal: Ashamed Lifeway Women Academy CONNECT Connect with Kelly Instagram // Book Connect with Christine Facebook // Instagram // Books Visit How to Thrive as a Pastor’s Wife to access Christine's resources for ministry wives like you! This is not yet clear to a lot of people: in 2023, our job is to help our families, friends and neighbors survive the cultural revolution with our relationships with God healthy and intact. The Lord is with us in this, He will not leave our side if we won't keep and practice our faith. We must go back to the very basics of what God thinks, how He acts and what He prescribes for our lives and today, we talk about that. Survival is the job, the Bible has the job description. The enemy has taken too much ground for us to think otherwise and, remember, we have already won. Some of the enemy's soldiers: A so-called children's author (read: destroyer of kids) says it right out loud, the goal is to capture the minds and souls of kids from the moment they are born. This is why many of us have been screaming for people to either be in their kid's schools every single day or get their kids out of government schools. The enemy has well-funded his ruthless and shrewd human army. The NY Post is the first mainstream media outlet I have seen report on the Human RIghts Campaign, a group run by hugely rich, deeply perverted men who have made queering kids their life mission: Inside the CEI system pushing brands to endorse celebs like Dylan Mulvaney. We have been talking about these people since 2018. I have yet to hear a brave, stalwart Republican in D.C. utter the name of the Human RIghts Campaign founders, even as their work at twisting minds bares more vile fruit. Reports circulating that Kentucky shooter is bank employee with “He/Him” pronouns in bio… Kelly King, an Assistant Superintendent in Glendale CA Unified is deeply concerned about male coaches watching teenage girls undress in the locker rooms. When I say “concerned”, I mean Kelly is comcerned and upset that male coaches DO NOT WANT to have teenage girls undressing in front of them. Kelly explains she tells these men, over-and-over-and-over again about these naked girls “It's not a girl! It's not a girl. It's not a girl!” A father addressed this at a school board meeting. Guess how the board responded . . . What does God say? 2 Timothy 3:1-17 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. ...Colossians 2:8-23 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.Author & Host of Rainbow Parenting. Creator of @queerkidstuffMeet Kelly King, Asst. Superintendent in Glendale CA Unified. “We have male coaches who are horrified at the thought of having a biological girl changing clothes in front of them… It's not a girl. It's not a girl. It's not a girl. You only have boys in the boys locker room.”Jordan Henry, the father who spoke out against Kelly Keing actively working to queer kids. “Last night I spoke at Glendale Unified against Kelly King who admits to forcing female students to change in front of male coaches. The board tried and failed to shut me down by accusing me of attacking King personally, even though King clearly violates the personal privacy of minors and families. These people will defend the unethical actions of a corrupt government employee while silencing the voice of concerned parents, all in the name of inclusivity.
