There are three controversies about this chapter that must be addressed before we can apply it appropriately to our lives. Who is the woman? What time period do the "1,260 days" (v. 6) and the "time, times, and half a time" (v. 14) refer to? When is Satan cast out of heaven (vv. 7-12)? You can watch this message here.

There are two prevailing views of how to interpret Revelation - and in this case, the Dragon. Who is the dragon, and what does it represent to Christians today?
We started back in Revelation for this summer's Table Talk series. You can watch this message here.

Satan's Hatred of God's People & Messiahs Rule (Part 2) | Revelation 12:1-5 | 06/08/2025 by
The story of Satan and spiritual warfare against God's people.
In this episode , "Power in the Unseen Realm: Revelation 12 Unveiled," presents a dramatic, immersive narrative where the listener is placed within a heavenly court. This divine assembly judges the cosmic conflict described in Revelation 12, featuring a Woman giving birth to a Child and a fiery-red Dragon seeking to devour Him. The Accuser challenges humanity's right to inherit the coming world, but Jesus defends believers through His atoning work. The narrative highlights the rebellion of celestial guardians and empowers reborn Saints to execute judgment against spiritual strongholds and deception. Ultimately, the text extends a call to rebirth, emphasizing the choice between eternal life through Christ and condemnation like the fallen
I discuss how the Gentile population and the Jewish population would interpret what John wrote about the woman here.

The plotline of Scripture is the gospel, and it culminates in Revelation 12 and the ultimate mother-versus-Satan scenario. We learn that we overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony.
Revelation 12:1-17 12:1 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; 2 and she was pregnant and she *cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven crowns. 4 And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven and hurled them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her Child. 5 And she gave birth to a Son, a male, who is going to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was caught up to God and to His throne. 6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she *had a place prepared by God, so that there she would be nourished for 1,260 days. 7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, 8 and they did not prevail, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. 12 For this reason, rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you with great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.” 13 And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. 14 But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place, where she *was nourished for a time, times, and half a time, away from the presence of the serpent. 15 And the serpent hurled water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon had hurled out of his mouth. 17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Today we read Revelation 12 in the ESV. Instagram: @contextisking_podcast Cover art by: @shelbyreneeart
Stranded astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams got an out-of-this-world greeting in space. On Sunday, March 16, the pair — who have been stranded in space for nine months — were surprised when Crew-9 commander Nick Hague greeted them wearing an alien costume as he docked with the SpaceX crew at the International Space Station. Now, if you have studied Bible prophecy for 5 minutes then you know exactly what you're looking at. That's the memo.“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Revelation 12:3 (KJB)On this episode of the Prophecy News Podcast, the Bible talks in great detail about a flying Dragon in Outer Space, it talks in great detail about UFOs and aliens from outside of our solar system who come to Earth, in fact, the Bible has a lot to says about “wonders in heaven” in the time of the end. Our time. Don't get me wrong, I applaud Elon Musk sending up his SpaceX rocket to rescue the stranded astronauts, I think that's wonderful. He is doing what NASA in unable to do, and that's great. I mean that sincerely. But, come on, if reading how SpaceX – “X marks the spot” – is sending the Dragon to Outer Space where they greet their rescuees while wearing alien masks, if that doesn't raise any red flags for you then you've not been spending any time in your Bible. On this episode of the Prophecy News Podcast, we are going deep into the pages of your King James Bible to make some good, old-fashioned horse sense out of the headlines. The hour is later than you think, and you are living in the pages of Bible prophecy.
Revelation 12-13 presents a dramatic vision of cosmic conflict unveiling the war behind history. We're introduced to a woman, a child of promise, and a dragon—symbols representing Israel, Christ, and Satan. These chapters reveal Satan's schemes: deception, accusation, persecution, and counterfeit power. Yet despite the dragon's rage, Christ is victorious! And His people are called to endure in faith.Key Themes:·The Woman, the Child, and the Dragon: A cosmic vision of a woman clothed in light, her child, and the great red dragon seeking to devour him. The child is caught up to God, and the woman is protected. (Revelation 12:1-6)·War in Heaven, Satan Cast Down: Michael and his angels fight the dragon. Satan is thrown down to earth, defeated but enraged. (Revelation 12:7-12)·The Dragon's War Against God's People: Satan pursues the woman and makes war on the rest of her offspring—those who keep God's commands and hold to Jesus' testimony. (Revelation 12:13-17)·The Beast from the Sea—A Counterfeit Christ: A powerful, blasphemous beast rises and is granted authority by the dragon. The world worships the beast, deceived by its power. (Revelation 13:1-10)·The Beast from the Earth—A False Prophet: A second beast rises, performing signs and leading people to worship the first beast. The world is marked in allegiance to the beast. (Revelation 13:11-18)Reflection:Are we discerning Satan's schemes? He tempts us, deceives us, and then accuses us seeking to destroy our faith. But we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Christ has conquered—making it possible to stand firm in Him.Key Texts:·Revelation 12-13·Genesis 3 (The ancient serpent)·Daniel 7 (The beasts and kingdoms)·1 Peter 5:8-9 (Satan as a roaring lion)·John 8:44 (Satan as a liar and murderer)Support Our Mission:Your generosity enables us to proclaim Christ as King and equip believers to stand firm in faith. https://alloflife.churchcenter.com/givingVisit Our Website:www.alloflife.church#TheDragon #SpiritualWarfare #VictoryInChrist #StandFirm

Fr. Mike continues to interpret the symbols within Revelation. He compares story of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the woman in Revelation. Fr. Mike provides context to the letter to the Hebrews, a letter that makes the case for Jesus, explaining who he is and the beauty of what he did for us.
