Rudyard and Andrew begin with the war in Ukraine and Trump denying Zelensky's request for Tomahawk long range missiles. Russia has suffered mass casualties - more than 400,000 dead and many more wounded - and shows no signs of weakening Ukraine's resolve, and yet all it takes is one phone call from Putin for Trump to reverse track and breathe new life into Russia's war effort. Trump's fickle support begs an important question: What can we do to strengthen ties with allies and even adversaries to protect ourselves from instability south of the border? In the second half of the show Rudyard and Andrew turn to a bombshell accusation from Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre that the RCMP covered up crimes committed by Justin Trudeau. This is an irresponsible accusation that suggests Poilievre is not leadership material. And while his behaviour plays well to the party's base, it spooks moderate Conservatives. How can any leader straddle this cultural divide?

Send us a textIn this section we see the Jews just assume that Pilate will kill this ”Man” Jesus that they want killed because of envy.  Pilate lets them know real quick that it isn't going to be that simple, but asks what is He accused of? They come up with this general if He weren't an evil doer we would not have delivered Him up to you. In other words, we want Him killed, don't worry about the charges, just kill Him. The Jews have Pilate right where they want him and they are ultimately going to force Him to kill Jesus. We will see that Pilate has messed up three times in insulting the Jews and their God by some of the things he did. This is ultimately how they force him to do their will, because if he messes up one more time it is means the loss of his political position at the least and most like it will cost him his life. Are we willing to give up all our human ambitions to follow Jesus?  If not, why not? He is worth it.Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?             John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. Series: RootedWeek 5 Title: There Is an Enemy!Scripture: Ephesians 6:10–20Big Idea: There is a real enemy who opposes God and His people—but Christ has already won the victory. We don't fight for victory; we fight from it.I. The Reality of the EnemyEvil isn't just human—it's spiritual. There is an unseen realm of darkness opposing God's Kingdom.Satan is not a myth or symbol—he is a fallen angel who rebelled against God and now seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).The devil's greatest trick is convincing the world he doesn't exist.Everything God creates, Satan counterfeits.II. The Enemy's Strategy1. Temptation to SinSatan entices believers to gratify the flesh outside of God's will.Sin becomes a stronghold when it moves from struggle to pattern.2 Corinthians 10:3–5 — take every thought captive. We defeat temptation by walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16–17).2. Accusation and LiesThe enemy is “the father of lies” (John 8:44).He twists God's Word and distorts truth to produce shame and confusion.Agreements with lies (“I am unworthy,” “God doesn't care”) must be broken by declaring God's truth.Romans 8:1 — no condemnation for those in Christ.3. Persecution and SufferingThe spirit of darkness opposes the Spirit in you.Believers worldwide face hatred and persecution (Matthew 10:22–23).Trials refine faith and earn eternal reward (James 1:12).III. The Path to VictoryVictory begins with salvation: transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God's Son (Colossians 1:13).Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:13–17):Belt of truth – stand against lies.Breastplate of righteousness – guard your heart.Shoes of peace – stay grounded in the gospel.Shield of faith – extinguish doubt and fear.Helmet of salvation – protect your mind with assurance.Sword of the Spirit – strike back with the Word of God.We are protected and empowered to stand firm. The fight is not ours—it's God's.IV. Christ's TriumphColossians 2:15 — Jesus disarmed the rulers and authorities, making a public spectacle of them by the cross. The cross was not His defeat—it was His victory parade.Satan and shame are already conquered. We march in triumph behind our King.

In the UK, allegations against Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell centered on claims that they trafficked and exploited young women on British soil, further expanding the scope of their international abuse network. Virginia Giuffre alleged she was trafficked to London in 2001, where she was photographed with Prince Andrew at Maxwell's Belgravia townhouse, a picture that became one of the most damning symbols of the scandal. Maxwell, with her British social connections, was accused of acting as Epstein's recruiter and facilitator, using her influence and status to introduce him into elite UK circles while allegedly procuring girls for abuse. These accusations shook the British establishment, dragging royalty and prominent figures into the fallout as questions mounted over how Epstein and Maxwell were able to operate so openly within high society. Both were accused of leveraging the UK as a playground for their trafficking ring, exploiting power, wealth, and connections to silence scrutiny. The allegations not only placed Andrew in the spotlight but also ignited criticism of British institutions that had enabled or ignored Epstein and Maxwell's activities, turning the scandal into an enduring stain on the UK elite.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 27, 2025 2:40

The rise and fall of William J. Levitt, the man who made the suburban house a mass commodity. Two material artifacts defined the middle-class American lifestyle in the mid-twentieth century: the automobile, which brought gas stations, highways, commercial strips, and sprawl; and the single-family suburban home, the repository of many families' long-term wealth. While the man who did the most to make the automobile a mass commodity—Henry Ford—is well known, few know the story of the man who did the same for the suburban house. Edward Berenson describes the remarkable career of William Levitt, who did more than anyone else to create the modern suburb. In response to an unprecedented housing shortage as veterans returned home from World War II, his Levittown developments provided inexpensive mass-produced housing that was wildly popular—prospective buyers would camp out in line for two days for the chance to put down a deposit on a Levitt house. He was a celebrity, a life-changing hero to tens of thousands, and the pitchman of a renewed American Dream. But Levitt also shared Ford's dark side. He refused to allow Black people to buy or rent in his developments and doggedly defended this practice against legal challenges. Leading the way for other developers who emulated his actions, he helped ensure that suburbs nationwide remained white enclaves. These legacies are still with us. Levitt made a major contribution to the stubborn wealth disparity between white families and Black families, and his solution to the housing crisis of the 1940s—the detached house and surrounding yard—is a primary cause of the housing crisis today. As a person, Levitt was a strangely guileless and tragic figure. He accumulated vast wealth but, after losing control of his building company, surrendered it all through foolish investments and a lavish lifestyle that included a Long Island mansion and a two-hundred-foot yacht. Just weeks before his death, as a charity patient in a hospital to which he had once given millions, he was still imagining his great comeback. Edward Berenson is a professor of history at New York University and director of its Institute of French Studies. His books include Europe in the Modern World, The Statue of Liberty: A Transatlantic Story, and The Accusation. He lives in Tarrytown, NY. Learn more about your ad choices.
