1. Purpose of Trey’s Law Federal legislation introduced to prohibit Non‑Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) from silencing child victims of sexual abuse. Ensures victims cannot be legally barred from speaking about their own abuse. Victims may choose confidentiality, but it cannot be forced on them. 2. The Story Behind the Law Trey was abused for years at a Missouri summer camp. As an adult, during civil litigation, he was pressured to sign an NDA, which deeply harmed his ability to heal. Trey died by suicide at age 28. His sister, Elizabeth Phillips, has become a leading national advocate, pushing to change the law so no child experiences this again. 3. Widespread Problem of NDAs in Child Abuse Cases Across the country, predators and institutions use NDAs to: Silence victims. Protect institutions from reputational damage. Delay exposure long enough for statutes of limitations to expire. Children often do not disclose abuse until decades later due to delayed disclosure, grooming, and shame. 4. Systemic Issues at Certain Institutions Kanakuk Kamps (Missouri) highlighted as a major example: Numerous allegations and confirmed cases of abuse over decades. Accusations of institutional cover‑ups, pressure on victims, and secrecy agreements. Advocacy groups maintain public databases of known or alleged abusers. Some perpetrators remained in leadership roles or were moved to other ministries. 5. Survivor Testimony Impact A 19‑year‑old survivor, Jayden Harris, spoke publicly for the first time after being protected by Missouri’s version of Trey’s Law. She described being pressured by both her abuser and her own attorney to sign an NDA. Her testimony emphasized the power shift that occurs when victims know they cannot be silenced by law. 6. Bipartisan Support Trey’s Law has broad, bipartisan backing in the U.S. Senate: Lead sponsors: Sen. Ted Cruz (R) & Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D) Additional bipartisan co‑sponsors from both parties. Strong expectation the bill will pass. 7. The Harm of Shame & Silence Shame is a powerful reason victims—especially children—do not come forward. Survivors speaking out helps: Their own healing, Other victims feel less alone, Expose predators still active. 8. Call to Action for the Public Sharing the information widely on social media to raise awareness. Calling senators and representatives to urge passage of Trey’s Law. Ben Schilaty, a former BYU Honor Code administrator, is a social work professor and author who discusses his life as a gay Latter-day Saint. He details his professional background, and his current work with the Gather Conference. Schilaty shares his personal faith journey, explaining how he reconciles his sexual orientation with his commitment to the Church through prayer and personal revelation. He advocates for radical empathy and honoring the individual agency of LGBTQ members, whether they choose to stay in or leave the faith. Throughout the conversation, he emphasizes the importance of sincere listening and building supportive communities where diverse experiences are validated. https://youtu.be/EzjYxEAfsYs Don’t miss our other LDS Faith Journeys: https://gospeltangents.com/tag/lds-faith-journeys/ Ben Schilaty: Navigating Faith and Identity Ben Schilaty is a professor of social work at Utah Valley University and author of A Walk in My Shoes. He shared a deeply personal look at his life as a gay Latter-day Saint. Schilaty, who humorously describes himself as “fame-ish” due to the parasocial relationships readers and listeners have formed with him, offers a unique perspective on the intersection of faith, identity, and belonging. Journey of Three Stages Ben describes his internal journey in three distinct phases. In his 20s, he felt “broken” and believed he needed to be “fixed” to fit the mold of a traditional Latter-day Saint marriage. In his early 30s, the pendulum swung, and he felt that if he couldn’t change, perhaps the Church had to change. Today, he focuses on “living in what is,” a practice of accepting reality as it is to find health and happiness. A pivotal moment in this journey occurred when Ben nearly left the Church after a painful heartbreak. Despite his parents' full support and their promise to honor his agency regardless of his choice, a prayerful encounter with Matthew 26 changed his path. Reflecting on Christ's prayer in Gethsemane, Ben felt a “clear and very annoying prompting” that his “cup” was to live his life within the teachings of the Church—a choice that transformed his religious practice from a burden into something life-giving. BYU Honor Code Providing a rare look into his four years as an Honor Code administrator at BYU, Ben dispels common myths about the office. While many assume the office is preoccupied with “morality” or LGBTQ+ issues, Ben notes that same-sex romantic behavior reports were uncommon, occurring only about ten times a year. Instead, the vast majority of his work involved academic dishonesty, plagiarism, and timecard theft. Building Bridges: The Gather Conference Ben is a co-founder of the Gather conference, a Christ-centered support system for LGBTQ+ Latter-day Saints and their allies. He describes it as a “middle space” compared to other organizations like Affirmation or Northstar. Gather serves a diverse group—about 80-90% of whom are active in the Church—including those in same-sex marriages, those choosing celibacy, and parents or leaders seeking to understand their loved ones better. Radical Acceptance and the Power of Story A major theme of the discussion was radical acceptance and honoring the agency of others. Ben emphasizes that: Listening is a Christlike act: Allies should listen to and validate the pain of those who feel they must leave the Church for their mental health. Forgiveness brings peace: Ben shared a powerful story of inviting a former Stake President over for dinner to find personal peace after a disagreement regarding his temple recommend. Prescription for Revelation: He warns against using his story as a “blueprint” for others, noting that God speaks to us as individuals and we each have our own “prescription” for personal revelation. Ben’s final invitation to the audience is simple: instead of just reading his book or listening to his podcast, invite the LGBTQ+ people in your own life to tell you their stories. In an age of instant media, public exposure, and viral accusations, the Church must recover a biblical and ecclesial protocol for processing allegations with integrity, discernment, and justice. In this Leadership Table teaching, Joseph Mattera outlines a scriptural framework for handling accusations in a way that protects the innocent, confronts genuine sin, and preserves the witness of the Church. Drawing from passages such as 1 Timothy 5:19 and Matthew 18, this episode explores the balance between due process and pastoral care, transparency and restraint, accountability and restoration. When accusations are mishandled, trust erodes and unity fractures. When they are processed biblically, truth prevails, victims are protected, and the integrity of Christ's Church is strengthened. This teaching is especially vital for pastors, elders, and leaders who must navigate difficult situations with wisdom and courage.

A viral video. A smeared daycare worker. A community in panic. Sound familiar? In the 1980s, a wave of hysteria swept the country, accusing daycare workers of abusing children in Satanic rituals — accusations that ruined lives and were entirely false. Now, a dubious video out of Minnesota is sparking the same kind of moral panic all over again. To make sense of the moment, I sat down with Sarah Marshall, host of the new CBC podcast The Devil You Know, to trace the through-line from the Satanic Panic to today's daycare scandals — and ask what it says about us that we keep falling for this. 1. Claims about U.S. immigration and corruption The U.S. has historically admitted immigrants from countries labeled as “highly corrupt” by Transparency International. Examples mentioned include South Sudan, Somalia, Venezuela, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Afghanistan, among others. Vetting immigrants from these countries is “nearly impossible” due to poor record‑keeping, bribery, and document fraud. 2. Reference to Trump administration policies Donald Trump previously restricted immigration from certain nations via executive orders. These restrictions were due to corruption concerns and an inability to verify documents from those regions. 3. Criticism of the Biden administration The Biden administration continued issuing visas to individuals from these “corrupt” nations, citing specific visa numbers (e.g., Venezuelan admissions). Allowing potentially unvetted migrants into the U.S. 4. Concerns about fraudulent documents Applicants in corrupt nations can obtain fake documents—birth certificates, police records, passports, diplomas—via bribes. This is presented as a major risk to U.S. vetting systems. 5. Political commentary on Democratic leaders Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Gavin Newsom are criticized for acknowledging migration problems while also condemning Trump’s approach. Democrats are both: admitting migration has become “destabilizing” and simultaneously criticizing U.S. border enforcement agencies. 6. Claims of “chaos” caused by Democratic policies The narrative argues that Democrats created disorder at the border and in U.S. cities. The author asserts Trump is “cleaning up the mess” and that this angers political opponents. 7. Accusations of unfair comparisons to authoritarian regimes Democrats comparing U.S. immigration enforcement agencies to authoritarian “secret police” or Nazi‑like forces. 2.Michael Vlahos as Germanicus joins Gaius in examining the elite obsession with Jeffrey Epstein through a historical lens of witchcraft and sorcery accusations. Gaius introduces an analogy involving Louis XIII using accusations of witchcraft to explain political assassinations, applying this framework to the modern overclass fascination with Epstein. He suggests elites cast Epstein as a sorcerer figure to absolve themselves of complicity in his crimes and their own participation in corruption. Germanicus agrees, arguing that the atheistic ruling class deploys Epstein as a fallen angel archetype, framing him as an unstoppable supernatural force of seduction so they can claim victimhood rather than confronting systemic corruption. Germanicus illustrates this dynamic with a story from The Howling about monks imprisoning the devil to prevent war, symbolizing humanity's desire to externalize evil rather than confront personal sin. The sheer volume of released Epstein files acts as contracts for sold souls, reinforcing the narrative that an external devil bears responsibility. Germanicus concludes these elites are cynical materialists who, unable to comprehend spiritual dynamics or acknowledge their own guilt, retreat to ancient superstitions to explain their entrapment and exonerate themselves from the corrupt world they lead.3.Michael Vlahos as Germanicus explores with Gaius the seventeenth-century practice of dynastic marriage as a superior geopolitical tool compared to modern warfare's impulse toward total destruction. Gaius highlights the unions connecting the Hapsburg, Bourbon, and Stuart empires, observing that the magic of resolving conflict through marriage has been lost entirely. Germanicus explains that these networks of bloodlines created a unified European sensibility and stability that limited war's severity because monarchs were cousins bound by family obligation and shared aristocratic culture. Wars remained limited affairs rather than existential struggles for national survival. Germanicus attributes the loss of this restraint to the French Revolution, which replaced aristocratic connections with religious nationalism and a Darwinian struggle for survival, culminating in the total wars of the twentieth century that devastated entire civilizations. While true dynastic geopolitics has vanished from international relations, Germanicus observes a strange egalitarian counterpart emerging in the American overclass through the nepo baby phenomenon. He argues that elite families in Hollywood and politics now pass down wealth and status across generations, mimicking aristocratic patterns without the intergenerational stability, diplomatic utility, or civilizational responsibility characteristic of Roman senatorial families or royal European houses.

Leslie Wexner, the billionaire founder of L Brands (which once included Victoria's Secret), has publicly claimed that Jeffrey Epstein betrayed his trust by misappropriating vast sums of money and engaging in unauthorized financial dealings on his behalf. According to Wexner's account, Epstein was given broad authority over parts of his financial and personal affairs in the 1990s and early 2000s, which he later said Epstein exploited for personal gain. Wexner has suggested that Epstein used that trust to essentially enrich himself—reportedly diverting assets and profiting from deals without clear documentation or approval. This purported betrayal, in Wexner's telling, was one of the factors that ultimately ended Epstein's professional relationship with him. Wexner has characterized the financial conduct as deceitful and exploitative, suggesting Epstein's financial acumen was a smokescreen for self-enrichment at Wexner's expense. However, a skeptical reading of this narrative raises several unresolved questions and inconsistencies. For one, some details about the scope and mechanics of the alleged financial misconduct remain vague or unverified in public records, leading observers to wonder whether the claims reflect specific documented thefts or a broader, more generalized sense of “being cheated.” Epstein today is often portrayed as having inflated his financial expertise; this has led some analysts to speculate that any discrepancies in Wexner's accounts might stem less from theft and more from sloppy bookkeeping, mutual misunderstanding, or projection after the relationship soured. Additionally, because Wexner's statements have sometimes appeared defensive or self-serving—emphasizing his own victimization—the possibility arises that the narrative simplifies or amplifies elements of the relationship to deflect scrutiny from his judgment in empowering Epstein in the first place. In an era where outrage travels faster than reflection, few accusations carry as much moral force as the charge of hypocrisy… and yet few concepts are as misunderstood. Michael Hallsworth is Chief Behavioral Scientist at the Behavioral Insights Team and a leading voice in behavioral economics, with academic appointments at the University of Pennsylvania and a career devoted to understanding how real people actually think and act in complex systems. His research spans public policy, organizational behavior and social judgment, examining how incentives, norms, and cognitive biases shape everything from government programs to corporate decision-making. In his new book, The Hypocrisy Trap - How Changing What We Criticize Can Improve Our Lives, Michael challenges the conventional belief that hypocrisy is simply a moral failing to be stamped out. Instead, he reframes it as a process… an inconsistency we dislike because we believe someone is gaining an unjust benefit… and argues that relentless accusations can backfire, breeding cynicism, polarization, and institutional decay. Drawing on evolutionary psychology, behavioral science, and contemporary case studies, he distinguishes between common standards hypocrisy and the more corrosive double standards that undermine fairness itself. He explores how social media amplifies moralistic aggression, how public signaling can both distort and reshape behavior, and why tolerating certain forms of inconsistency may be necessary for leadership and democratic compromise. Rather than excusing deception, Michael calls for sharper discernment: identifying which inconsistencies cause real harm and which reflect the unavoidable trade-offs of human life. Grounded in rigorous scholarship yet strikingly practical, his work urges greater self-reflection, empathy and intellectual humility in a culture quick to condemn. I think it would be helpful to know how the University handles accusations of the nature currently involving former UVA Football wideout Jahmal Edrine, who was indicted by an Albemarle County grand jury last week on rape and abduction charges, in an incident reported to police on Aug. 25, 2025. We've got an inquiry into UVA to learn more. In the meantime, we're examining how the NFL would have handled the accusations against Edrine. Until more concrete evidence is produced, the precise nature and extent of any alleged financial misconduct by Epstein toward Wexner remains a subject of debate rather than settled fact.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.
The DOJ "Epstein Files" release was billed as transparency, but the hearing footage tells a different story. We break down Thomas Massie's clash with AG Pam Bondi, the alleged mishandling of victim names, and the bigger question: why does government always default to redactions, deflection, and "look over here" politics? Then we zoom out to the incentive problem: when power is centralized, the rich and connected get shields you will never have. We also cover the viral moments from the hearing, including the "reclaiming my time" chaos, the blame-shifting across administrations, and the absolute hall-of-fame distraction tactic: "The Dow is over 50,000 right now." If your friends are furious about Epstein, COVID, wars, or corruption, we give you the clean libertarian through-line: reduce the power, reduce the coverups. If you've ever looked at your car and thought, “Yeah… this is a cry for help,” congratulations — this daily comedy show is speaking directly to you.Today on The Rizzuto Show, Rizz proudly flexes after finally washing his car, which immediately opens the floodgates to a full-blown investigation into everyone else's rolling trash piles. Food wrappers, water bottles, road trip debris, mystery items lodged under pedals, and the undeniable truth that your car is absolutely a reflection of your mental state. Parents are excused. Mostly.Things escalate when the crew debates whether a disgustingly messy car is a defense mechanism, a personality trait, or just a sign that you've given up. Stories surface about legendary hoarder cars, former coworkers with vehicles that looked pre-robbed, and the unspoken rule that there should always be enough room to sit… at minimum. Then — chaos strikes.Rafe discovers a wiener drawn on his car window. Rizz swears on everything holy that it wasn't him. Accusations fly. A potential Wiener Bandit is identified. The crew analyzes drawing styles, angles, left vs. right orientation, artistic intent, and whether there's a deeper psychological meaning behind how one draws a windshield dong. This daily comedy show asks the questions science refuses to.As if that wasn't enough, the show pivots hard into a full Super Bowl recap: Bad Bunny's halftime show, dancing (and non-dancing) grass, surprise celebrity appearances, respectful horniness, missed opportunities for Metallica, and Rizz openly questioning why Bruno Mars was apparently uninvited. The crew breaks down the commercials, the anthem timing controversy, AI ads everywhere, crypto confusion, and why Andy Cohen briefly caused panic in living rooms across America. The episode wraps with celebrity news, tributes to fallen musicians, festival drama, birthdays, and a classic Rizz Show porno birthday to remind you that yes — this is still a daily comedy show and no one is safe. It's messy. It's loud. It's oddly introspective. And much like your car, it probably needs to be cleaned… but you won't.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

If you've ever wondered what peak American efficiency looks like, allow us to introduce Officer John ‘Merica — who literally hopped into the back of a Ford pickup truck to help catch a bike thief while Fortunate Son played like it was scripted by the universe. That alone earns this episode a permanent place in daily comedy show history. But that's just the opening act.The real chaos begins when the Rizz Show crew unveils Around the Horn: Mind Meld Edition, a seemingly innocent word game that immediately exposes competitive instincts, questionable handwriting, defensive strategies, and one of the most intense debates over whether “Tequila” and “Tequila Sunrise” are legally the same thing. (They are not. According to Riz. Final ruling.)From winter activities that absolutely shouldn't count, to body parts no one planned on saying out loud, to sudden death purse contents deciding the final winners — this episode spirals exactly the way you want a daily comedy show to spiral: loudly, unnecessarily, and with just enough confusion to keep it interesting.Accusations of conspiracies fly. Southern Illinois logic makes an appearance. Tang is deployed as a strategic answer. And somehow, through all of this, two winners emerge while everyone else questions their life choices. This is the Rizz Show at its finest — weird news, competitive nonsense, and real-time arguments that only make sense if you were there… which is why you should be here.
