Sermon from Matthew 20:1–28 preached on September 7, 2025, by Nathan Lugbill.
What is faith? Faith is letting God be the judge. In the life of Jephthah, we see his faith in God by submitting to the Lord's judgment. The Spirit of the Lord came on him and allowed him to conquer the enemies of Israel. His secret? He yielded to the righteous judgment of the Lord!If you got saved watching the broadcast today, need prayer, would like to connect with us, or you would like to give into this ministry please visit here:https://www.gospeltabernaclechurch.com/connect
At the Cross, Jesus embodied the ultimate surrender. Though He had every right to cling to His life, He laid it down in obedience to the Father's will, praying, “Not My will, but Yours be done.” Yet that surrender was not loss but the doorway to the highest life: God raised Him from the dead, exalted Him above every name, and through His sacrifice opened eternal redemption for the world. Just as Jesus said, a seed must fall into the ground and die to bear fruit; so His surrender has borne fruit in countless lives redeemed. And because the Cross is not only our salvation but also our pattern, we too are called to lay down our “lower” lives—our comfort, our control, our ambitions—so that His resurrection life may rise in us.

Letting God Be Lord Over Your Finances, which Are His but He Entrusted to You, Will Liberate Your Life! MESSAGE SUMMARY: We are so focused on earning money and other financially driven life activities so that it is easy for money and finances to become our god. Making finances “our god” violates the Second Commandment. If Jesus is Lord over all Creation, as we are told in Psalms 24:1, then: “The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.”; therefore, everything that has been entrusted to you is God's. In James 5:1-3, the author of the Book of James provides insight into someone who does NOT make God the Lord of their finances: “Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.”. Therefore, let God Be Lord over your finances, which really are His finances. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, I now take a deep breath and stop. So often I miss your hand and gifts in my life because I am preoccupied and anxious. Grant me the power to pause each day and each week to simply rest in your arms of love. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 132). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! In this episode, I'm gonna be discussing when God removes people and situations from your life, how you need to allow him to do so. A lot of people wanna hold onto people that's holding you back from your greatness, and what you're meant to be and do in your life that's gonna benefit you. A lot of people are sitting up here, and lowering themselves in order to build other people up, and destroying yourself in the process. A lot of people are being abused, and lead to the slaughter because they want to stay in these situations in relationships that they don't need to be in worse. Sometimes things and peopleare removed from your life for a reason. and even though you may not understand why these people are being removed, you just have to trust the process that God is doing. Because trust me in the end when you finally become the person that you want to be, and your successful, and you're doing well, you're gonna thank God later for the fact that he removed these things and people out of your life that are negative. So I wanted to do this podcast breaking down how I myself have done that and how it's benefited me. However, I trusted the process that God has done, and how better of my life is because of it.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/finding-your-inner-peace-and-tranquility--5271234/support.

Episode 78 Friends, it's no surprise that I start this episode by going down a rabbit trail. This time it was about hazel nuts. But the real reason I have today's guest, Tara Sun, on the program is to talk about her new book, Overbooked and Overwhelmed: How to Keep Up With God When You are Just Trying To Keep Up With Life. Tara and I talk about the story behind the book and I especially loved talking about some of the parts that resonated with me most. One of those was how we both struggle to say no because we both love saying yes. There is a chapter in her book that addresses this by inviting us to be on mission for God and recognizing that sometimes that means saying no to things that aren't part of that mission. Another important thing we talked about is that this book isn't going to give you the perfect organizational system or the best baskets and bins to buy so that you will feel more peaceful and less overwhelmed. What it will do is point you to the true source of peace and that is Jesus. There is so much more we discuss in this episode. I know you're going to get so much out of it. I did! Listen and share with your friends! And don't forget to leave a review of the podcast if you haven't done that already. Help me spread the word! Thanks friends. Before Israel ever faced the Red Sea, God made His presence and leadership unmistakable. In the wilderness, a pillar of cloud guided them by day and a pillar of fire by night—an unmissable reminder that they weren't navigating life alone. The cloud didn't give them a full map, just the next step. Sometimes it stayed for a day, sometimes for months, but Israel moved only when God moved. In our own lives, we often want the entire plan upfront, yet God calls us to follow His presence one step at a time. Letting God take the lead means trading the security of our own schedule for the security of His presence, even when it disrupts our plans Connect with Us | Text Us: (650)600-0402

Letting Go, Letting God
In this episode of the Deep Spirituality podcast, we dive into what it truly means to have conviction, not as a rigid stance or empty words, but as a deeply personal and spiritual transformation forged in the fire of life's challenges. You'll explore the idea of the “nosedive”—those moments when everything feels like it's falling apart—and discover how God uses them to build unshakable faith, clarity, and courage. Whether you're feeling stuck, tired, or just searching for more, this conversation will remind you that your spiritual journey isn't about perfection—it's about progress. It's about becoming who you were always meant to be, one step (and one nosedive) at a time.

In this episode, we're gonna talk about how to find your inner peace and tranquility by letting God remove all of the negative people and situations that do not serve you in any way shape, form, or fashion. A lot of people try to hold on the people that they should've never been involved with in the first place. The people that are only bringing you down, by you lowering yourself to make everybody else happy but yourself. You're lowering yourself in order to build somebody else up that's not gonna be for you. Where in the Bible, does it say that you have to lower yourself in order to build somebody else up? Where does it say in the Bible that you have to give up everything that you worked hard for in order to take care of other people that will never do the same for you? Where in the Bible does it say that you have to go through all these hoops and bounds in order to be in relationships? You're more concerned about the societies version of relationships, who you're supposed to be, then the person that God wants you to be as a godly person. The question is why do we do that. And in this episode, we're gonna talk about it.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/finding-your-inner-peace-and-tranquility--5271234/support.

Change is necessary for growth, and if we've been born again, our own lives should demonstrate transformation. Others should be able to look at us and notice some type of difference or alternate route taken as a result of our Christian walk. Yielding to the Holy Spirit's prompting and beginning to think in line with Him begins changing our lives radically. Letting God direct and guide us as we change is similar to the metamorphosis a caterpillar undergoes in becoming a butterfly. When we cooperate with Christ in this process, our lives will be totally different and unrecognizable from what they were previously. The priests took the Ark of the Covenant to the battle and lost it!?! This unique story has somethings to teach us about letting God lead vs. us trying to control the outcome.
In this episode of the Parsha Review Podcast, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe explores Parshas Balak, focusing on the story of Balak, the king of Moab, who hires the powerful prophet Bilaam to curse the Jewish people (Numbers 22). Rabbi Wolbe recounts the riveting narrative where Bilaam's donkey, divinely enabled to speak, rebukes him for striking it, symbolizing resistance to his mission to curse the Jews. Rashi's commentary highlights the donkey's reference to “three times” as an allusion to the Jewish people's observance of the three festivals (Pesach, Shavuot, Sukkot), which Bilaam seeks to undermine. Rabbi Wolbe explains why the festivals define the Jewish people, emphasizing the miraculous nature of Jerusalem's Temple Mount, which, like a deer's hide, supernaturally expands to accommodate millions during these pilgrimages without anyone feeling cramped. This contrasts sharply with Bilaam's frustration when his donkey pins his leg against a wall, revealing his inability to tolerate minor discomfort, unlike the Jewish people who trust in Hashem's providence. Rabbi Wolbe draws a broader lesson, contrasting Bilaam's arrogance and reliance on material wealth with the Jewish people's faith in Hashem's control, as seen in historical miracles like the Six-Day War and the protection of Jewish homes during festival pilgrimages. He critiques the modern notion of “financial security” as a form of arrogance, urging listeners to let go of self-reliance and trust in Hashem while still acting responsibly. Using the metaphor of a tractor-trailer stuck under an overpass, he suggests “letting the air out of our arrogance” to align with divine will. The episode concludes with a call to live with faith, recognizing that Hashem orchestrates every outcome, and to embrace this trust for a meaningful Shabbos and life._____________This episode (Ep 7.37) of the Parsha Review Podcast by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe on Parshas Balak is dedicated in honor of our Holy Soldiers in the Battlefield and our Torah Scholars in the Study Halls who are fighting for the safety of our nation!Download & Print the Parsha Review Notes:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ncaRyoH5iJmGGoMZs9y82Hz2ofViVouv?usp=sharingRecorded at TORCH Studios (C) to an online TORCHzoom.com audience on July 8, 2025, in Passaic, New Jersey.Released as Podcast on July 10, 2025_____________Subscribe: Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/parsha-review-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1651930083)Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/22lv1kXJob5ZNLaAl6CHTQ) to stay inspired! In this tender and truth-filled episode, Maria and Meghan pull back the curtain on one of the most damaging lies they've seen women carry: the belief that you're still single because you're not “doing it right” spiritually. Maybe you've heard it—or felt it too: if you just prayed harder, were holier, or checked the right boxes off, God would have answered your desire for marriage by now.Together, they name this lie for what it is: not from the heart of God.This conversation gently but boldly calls out the pressure many women feel to be perfect—before God, in dating, and in life. It's an invitation into something deeper and freer: imperfection, honesty, and radical surrender to the Lord as you are right now.Through stories, scripture, and deep personal reflection, Meghan and Maria walk with you through:The shame of “not doing it right” in your spiritual lifeThe difference between surrender and giving upThe grief of unmet desires—and what to do with itWhy honesty is often the doorway to deeper intimacy with GodPractical ways to notice where you feel unsafe with the FatherHow to crack the door of your heart—just a little—for grace to enterWhether you're in a season of disappointment, wrestling with your story, or simply needing a reminder that you're not alone—this episode is for you.

I'm glad God lives within my heart." The importance of going to the house of God and loving God. Acknowledging that people may have money and wealth but still need God. Have you ever wondered what it would truly look like to surrender your whole day to God —not just in theory, but in the real, messy, beautiful moments of life? In this episode, I'm sharing a personal story of how the Lord gently interrupted my plans and invited me into His. It wasn't easy. I had a full agenda—things to do, people to see, boxes to check off. But what unfolded when I chose to listen, surrender, and follow was far better than anything I had mapped out. This video is an invitation. To slow down. To listen. And to discover the peace and purpose that come when we follow God's plan instead of forcing our own. So come with me on this journey. Let's learn together how to surrender our day—and our hearts—to the One who knows exactly what we need. As always,

Send us a textFor another episode of our letting go series, our guest today is one of my good friends who is a single mom who have three daughters and is a part of my small group bible study and I am talking about my friend Madelaine or Maddie in short. You will hear her share the importance of prayer and the impact her uncle made in her life and how out of her love for him that her uncle became the reason why Maddie decided to accept Christ as her personal savior. Our prayer is by listening to Maddie's testimony that if you haven't accepted Christ in your life that you will not wait for tomorrow's never promise and that you will accept Jesus in your life as your personal savior. We also pray that you will have a genuine and intimate relationship with Him and know that He loves you that's why He died in the cross for your sins. We also want to remind you that prayer is very important in our lives and to never give up on praying on someone. Think of prayer as our phone line to God. Just talk to Him, He wants to hear from you.Make sure to stay tuned so you don't miss Maddie's answer to the question we left of and the rest of our conversation, and I promise you wouldn't want to miss it.We would love to hear from you so feel free to share with us your feedback on our episode and if you have any questions feel free to message us in any of our social media links.Connect with us in our social media links:Email us at cometojesuswithannette.mahal@gmail.comTwitter and Instagram: @AnnetteMahalFB: Come to JesusYou can also send us a voice message if you are listening in Spotify or by sending your questions or comments to (571)601-0067.Thank you again for listening and always remember to Come to Jesus Daily!Connect with us through our Social Media Links:Email us at cometojesuswithannette.mahal@gmail.com Twitter and Instagram: @AnnetteMahal FB: Come to JesusYou can help support our podcast ministry and partner with us reach further to build God's Kingdom by either giving a onetime donation to our coffee podcast ministry or be a part of our monthly supporters. In today's episode, I am joined by Erin Harrigan, a Christian wife of 31 years, mom, business coach, author, and speaker. Erin shares her powerful journey of pursuing success while learning how to align her business and life with God's will. After giving her life to Christ at age 46, Erin's life took a complete turn as she embraced her relationship with Jesus and started navigating her business and career with a renewed purpose.Takeaways: 1. The Power of Surrender: Erin's story of overcoming her dependence on herself to lean fully on God highlights the importance of surrendering control. When you let God take the wheel, your life and career are filled with peace, clarity, and His guidance. 2. Redefining Success: Success in God's kingdom is not measured by worldly standards like wealth or status, but by deepening your relationship with Him and fulfilling His assignments for you. It's about being obedient and walking in His calling, even when it doesn't align with the world's expectations. 3. Trusting God's Timing: Erin's experience of trusting God's timing, even when things didn't go as planned, shows us that God's timing is always perfect. When we stop trying to “hustle” in our own strength, and instead focus on God's direction, He leads us to success in His way, not ours.Erin's journey is a powerful reminder that success God's way isn't about achieving for the sake of achievement—it's about walking in His will, embracing surrender, and letting Him define what success looks like for us.As you reflect on Erin's story, remember that God has uniquely equipped you to succeed in His way. Embrace His direction and trust that, in His time, you'll see the fruit of your obedience. Don't chase the world's version of success—pursue His calling for your life, and watch how He transforms your journey.Bio:Erin Harrigan is a Christian wife, empty nest mom, speaker, author, and Biblical business coach for high-achieving Christian women in business and the boardroom who seek to scale new heights in their business or career without compromising their faith.
