Coronate the King- Luke 19:28-48 | Pastor Jason Polk

The Echo Church Podcast

In this sermon, Pastor Jason Polk takes us to the heart of the Palm Sunday narrative—where Jesus is declared King by the crowd, rides into Jerusalem on a donkey, and immediately sets to work flipping tables and expectations. Pastor Jason emphasizes that restoration begins with coronation—acknowledging Jesus as the King of our hearts and lives. Through rich narrative and humor, he paints the scene of a city swelling with hope, a people longing for deliverance, and a Savior who defies every worldly notion of power. He explores the significance of Jesus' obedience to prophecy, His heart that weeps for those who are close yet still far, and His bold act of cleansing the temple—a call to make space for God to truly dwell within us. This message is a powerful reminder that Jesus is not just a gentle King riding in humility—He is a King who remodels, restores, and reigns. And when we throw down our cloaks and declare Him as King, we invite real transformation into every part of our lives. What does true kingship look like? In this powerful sermon, Pastor Chris Rieber dives into Luke 19, exploring Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem and the profound message it holds for us today. The crowds laid down palm branches, expecting a conquering hero, a king like those they knew in the world. But Jesus' coronation was far from conventional. His kingdom, Pastor Chris explains, is not of this world, but a spiritual and eternal realm that challenges our earthly expectations. Discover how the Kingdom of God operates on a different plane, one that is often "upside down" compared to the kingdoms we see around us. Join us as we unpack the deeper meaning of Jesus' arrival and learn how His unconventional coronation reveals the true nature of His reign. Prepare to be challenged and inspired as Pastor Chris unpacks the profound truth of Jesus' kingdom.

“What is truth?” Pontius Pilate scoffed at Jesus (Jn 18:38), and that's how we think about matters today in our culture—subjectively: my truth, your truth, etc. To make the argument that there is a knowable Truth (with a capital T) that is written in the world and in our bones, theologians Deborah Savage and Robert Fastiggi examine a selection of autobiographical accounts of ‘lived experience.' They take a number of personal essays written by those who have erred from the path of Catholic social teaching and sexual morality—in the dark forest of the world, to borrow from Dante—and their subsequent disappointments and suffering. They examine these narratives through the anthropology of John Paul II and the authority of the physical and social sciences, including medical doctors. So, there is Good News for all of us: if we find ourselves lost and unhappy in our errant meanderings, the Church can bring us home. The chaos kicks off as Bert calls back to an insane AI-generated video called "Fat N-word Season," that does in fact exist. From there, they tackle the big questions in life, like what is the perfect boob size and do Black guys really not always fit all the way in during intercourse? They also get deep about comedians being forgotten in pop culture history, before immediately pivoting to Bert's questionable SXSW outfit and how he narrowly avoided disaster with Magic Johnson. Ari Shaffir's name comes up, Bert lays some praise on Tom for his Robert Smith costume on YMH Live X, and Tom tries to wrap his head around Bert becoming friends with Mel Gibson at a UFC event—which might just be the most Bert Kreischer thing ever. 2 Bears, 1 Cave Ep. 281 https://tomsegura.com/tour https://www.bertbertbert.com/tour https://store.ymhstudios.com Chapters 00:00:00 - Intro 00:00:47 - Fat Big Word Season 00:07:07 - Perfect Size 00:14:15 - The Legacy Of Comedians 00:18:48 - Dudes Jumping Off The Roof & Ari Shaffir 00:28:16 - Bert's Outfit 00:32:29 - Magic Johnson & King's Coronation 00:38:28 - Mel Gibson 00:48:08 - YMH Live X 00:55:35 - Hunger For Touring & Hanging With Fans 01:03:22 - Bert's Death Wish Learn more about your ad choices. In an extended interview, Mark and Miles discuss the big ideas of monarchy, religion – and whether David Attenborough secretly likes to go fly-tipping. Plus, there's Mark's take on what the Coronation ceremony itself will involve, including the Wolverhampton Dragoon Guards of the Prussian battalions of the Noble Emissaries of Mansfield. Piers is a licensing lawyer at TLT and has 20- plus years' experience licensing premises for the sale of alcohol and other licensable activities. This includes licensing breweries for direct sales to customers, online sales and for taprooms. He has acted on the licensing around sale and purchase of major breweries and small start-ups across the country and on registrations for AWRS and other relevant certificates, too.He has also licensed major festivals such as Glastonbury, pubs, bars – oh and the King's Coronation, too...

They talk about the luxury watch market including its dramatic post-COVID crash and the rise of independent watchmakers. Johnny reveals how his grandfather's firefighting legacy was the inspiration behind building a British watch brand that incorporates genuine upcycled firefighter equipment. From celebrity collectors like Kevin O'Leary and President Biden to Johnny's journey from banker to watchmaker, this episode provides a fascinating look into entrepreneurship, watch industry disruption and why traditional luxury brands might be taking advantage of their customers. REVEALS: How William Wood Watches incorporates genuine upcycled firefighter equipment, honouring Johnny's grandfather's 25 year firefighting career. How Johnny started William Wood Watches at just 25 years old while maintaining his banking career The company produces about 3,500 watches annually priced between £1,000-£4,000, with limited editions like the 30-piece "King's Coronation" watch dramatically increasing in value, selling out instantly. The high profile customers that buy William Wood Watches, including President Biden (whose watch was presented in the Oval Office), Kevin O'Leary and Russell Crowe. Why Johnny believes the luxury watch market crashed post-COVID How William Wood is expanding beyond direct-to-consumer sales into B2B government contracts. That watch brands claiming "in house" manufacturing primarily use this as marketing justification for charging premium prices. BEST MOMENTS "I believe if a Richemont Group bought it, Jesus, they could take William Wood Watches into the billions in revenue. Every single country in the world has a fire service. Our vision is to convert fire stations all around the world into our concept stores." "The whole reason we're in business is to be able to produce watches that you can actually wear on a daily basis and appreciate. Now there's so much supply in the marketplace that you are struggling where to be able to make these purchases." "I used to fall for that, I've got loads of limited edition APs, which, you know, they're limited edition, so they're the ones that will go up in value and they haven't gone up in value because they make a new limited edition, a new one, and a new one." "This is the reason why we're seeing such a rise of independent brands. We've seen in the last three years, the amount of customers who now know more or want to educate themselves on other independent sort of lesser well known brands." "I think society is celebrating the wrong businesses. We are feeding a conversation around entrepreneurs who have these big billion dollar companies with huge employees, potentially masses of debt. I think we should be celebrating more the entrepreneurs turning over maybe into the single digit millions." [EP 25-029] The difference between Trump's appointees and Biden's is striking. No affirmation action hires, no DEI hires, just qualified people who know their positions. Begin with JD Vance. This guy didn't win the presidency for Trump. But he certainly added to it. His chief of staff is a maneater. Silent but deadly. Trump is approaching his 2nd term much differently than his first.   I looked at all the Biden appointees, and by now most of the world knows what that freak show looked like. It's one thing for Biden to hire freaks, but to hire incompetent freaks is horrible. Like I've said a few times, it's almost as if Biden and the Left want to see how bad of a beating we are willing to take. Welcome…   We officially no longer will hear from Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, KJP, Blinken, Mayorkas, Garland, and the litany of other liars and nincompoops who protected Biden. The media must shift gears, and if they are smart, they will shift in the direction of that MAGA wind. Or die. I didn't watch any of the confirmation hearings, but I got snippets. I must say that I'm super impressed with Trump's picks. But what I like best is how they represent conservatism.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-kevin-jackson-show--2896352/support.
