There are obvious negative effects of financial stress—or financial constraints, in general. But how do financial constraints actually affect our decisions with money or in other areas of our lives? And while we may associate financial stress with those that have little money, anyone can feel constrained financially. For some, those constraints will be “real”, like truly struggling to make ends meet, and for others it may be more subjective, such as when one has ample income to meet necessities but may feel it's a challenge to maintain a desired higher standard of living. On this episode of The Behavioral Divide, host Hal Hershfield examines this topic with Princeton University Professor Anuj Shah and Sam Swift, CEO of TCI Wealth Advisors to better understand how financial stress manifests in individuals across the income spectrum and how we might better manage it. We sit down with current and past members of the BAA to hear how it evolved from a prank trying to poke at PiKA's proclivity to prevent photography, to a key platform documenting the history of the sport, to actively bringing us raceday enhancements like Jumbotrons, as well as current initiatives such as providing mentorship to new organizations. Sam Swift, Aiton Goldman, Michael Darcy and Ben Matzke are featured sharing their experiences and stories.
Take Two stars Rachel Bilson as Sam Swift, a disgraced actress who is struggling to rebuild her career. Researching a role, she shadows private detective Eddie Valetik (Eddie Cibrian) and eventually finds out that her history as a TV cop might prove beneficial at solving actual crimes. Therefore, in the spirit of The Thin Man and Moonlighting, these two team up to solve crimes every week on ABC. For our exclusive interview, creators Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller join us to discuss their history in Hollywood, including their initial start in the industry. From there, the conversation shifts to their time on their hit series Castle, the current climate of television storytelling, how they came to create Take Two, and why they love doing shows like this. You will not want to miss this enchanting, candid conversation with two stalwart talents, Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller . Take Two airs Thursday nights at 10PM EST/9PM CST on ABC.

In this episode, Shana and Daniel barely even bother to talk about plot and story, so fascinated were they by the gender issues in the most recent two-part story of Series 9: The Girl Who Died/The Woman Who Lived. Is Ashildur genderqueer? Is Clara queer? Are the Mire 'roid-ragers? Is Leando an abusive boyfriend? Also alternative masculinity as portrayed by the Doctor and by the perhaps-appropriately-named Sam Swift the Quick. It's probably more fun than it sounds. Main Topic: The Girl Who Died/The Woman Who Lived. Daniel shouldn't ruin Queen. Shana took notes. If you thought you were political before.... Did you like these? Silly tone with a core of darkness. Ash/Me. One story or two? A J.D. Salinger reference. "Arthouse films from before 1994." A Phil Sandifer reference. Shana might get bitchy about pronouns. A reading from Jack Graham. Maisie Williams. Defining some terms. The danger of being publicly queer. Moving into the episodes. The safety of the closet. Sexualized by the Doctor and Clara. The only thing Steven Moffat had to say about this. The Mire. Testosterone. Psuedoscience. "Trust me, it's unbearable." Taking over a village with a yo-yo and big bad masculinity. Web Developers. "There's gonna be a Big Finish in twenty years...." Babies. White Knight Doctor. Making Ashildr immortal. Never read any feminist literature. Orlando. Severance. Knightmare. Misnaming people. Sam Swift the Quick. We are all in drag. Performativity. Heart turned to rust. Dying children. Savior complex. Too like Missy? Hadn't invented cunnilingus. Sam Swift's masculinity. Dirty Dad Jokes. Self-hating Doctor. Abusive relationships. Brawndo? Me's turn to being a "good person." Longer-form stories in Series 9. Tenth Doctor stories. Moffat feels less involved. Fanfic. Next week: Warrior's Gate. Jack Graham's post "A Surfeit of Lampreys," which discusses The Girl Who Died. Superfruit with Maisie Williams. Hank Green: Human Sexuality is Complicated!
