The public proposal, led by State Rep. Andrea Romero (D-Santa Fe) and cosponsored by Rep. Marianna Anaya (D-Albuquerque), sought a preliminary budget of about $2.5 million and would include a bipartisan oversight body with subpoena power. The aim: to reconstruct what officials knew (or didn't know), how possible crimes (including alleged sex-trafficking activities) were reported or suppressed, and how New Mexico might prevent similar abuse in the future. Survivors of Epstein's abuse have alleged trafficking extended to Zorro Ranch, yet there remains no full public account of what happened.Despite these serious allegations and investigations, Epstein never faced prosecution in New Mexico, though the Attorney General's office interviewed potential victims in 2019 and later examined financial institutions linked to Epstein's operations. The 2023 probe of financial services led to agreements involving $17 million tied to human-trafficking prevention. A donor-advised fund—when used rightly—can help you do both: give joyfully and steward resources efficiently.What Is a Donor-Advised Fund?Think of a DAF as a charitable checking account designed to support the causes you care about. You contribute cash, stock, or other assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to ministries or charities on your timetable.In other words, it separates the act of giving from the act of distributing. You might contribute during a high-income year or before selling an asset to take advantage of tax benefits, while taking time to decide where those dollars should go prayerfully.Behind the scenes, your DAF is managed by a sponsoring organization. Republicans urging DOJ to ‘void' pardons made via Biden's autopen as the investigation into the autopen controversy involving former President Joe Biden intensifies. This week, Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote in a post on X that her "team is reviewing the Biden administration's reported use of autopen for pardons." The Oversight Project at the Heritage Foundation has been analyzing thousands of pages of documents bearing President Biden's signature, and they say they found that most were signed by the autopen, including pardons and at times when the President was not in Washington D.C..
