The Greek word “escha” means last or farthest away.There are many different views and words for this study. Specifically, Jenny views it as the “last days.”Like many others, Reagan and Jenny have been exposed to the fear of the end times that Hollywood and society have perpetuated.However, the book of Revelations isn't about fear. It is about the revealing of Jesus Christ. [06:55] Jenny: “Revelation is ‘the revealing of'… It means the revealing of Jesus Christ. It is about Jesus. When you look at Revelations with those lenses of ‘Where are we seeing him revealed?' your view starts to change.” It reveals the New Covenant and what that means for us, believers.[07:23] The Major Views of the End TimesThe dispensational view looks at Revelations at different times. From the growth of the Church to the 7-year peace agreement of the Antichrist and Jesus' return to reign and end all evil. The Church is raptured before, in the middle, or after the 7-year tribulationAmillennialism believes that Jesus reigns right now. There will be no rapture and the Church waits for Jesus' second coming and then eternity.A preterist view believes the Revelations were fulfilled in the first century. A partial preterist believes that it has mostly been fulfilled and only awaits the return of Jesus.Other views include historical, post-millennialism, futurism, and idealism. She believes that Jesus is reigning in the present. Once He comes back, he will bring eternity.[13:09] The Journey Into Studying the book of RevelationIn 2020, Jenny started questioning what other people told her about the end times. She started reading Revelations and felt uneasy about how some things didn't make sense.She discovered that the 7-year tribulation theology came from Daniel's 70 Weeks prophecy. Jenny started reading the Book of Daniel and listened to different viewsJenny started studying the Hebrew writings in Daniel. It's through this that she better understands the 70 Weeks prophecy and how it actually refers to Jesus and His ministry.The next step in her journey was understanding what Matthew 24 says when talking about the end times and the great tribulation.In the past year, she studied Revelations and listened to different views and perspectives. With prayer, Jenny felt the Holy Spirit confirm her beliefs not with fear but with peace.[17:02] A Deeper Look Into Pre-Tribulation Rapture Theology and HistoryDispensationalism was made popular in the 1800s by John Nelson Darby. His work has then been taught in seminaries.Josephus was a first-century Jewish historian. He documented the history of the Jewish-Roman War. His works are crucial in understanding the views of the end times.In Matthew 23, Jesus proclaimed destruction and judgment on that generation before He died in 30 AD. In 66 AD, Roman armies surrounded Jerusalem before pulling out and allowing Christians who heeded Jesus' warnings to flee the city.The Roma-Jewish War lasted for 3 and a half years as written in the books of Revelations and Daniel. It ended in 70 AD after a final siege lasting 5 months.A better understanding of these dates gave Jenny a deeper look. Learn more about these historical dates and Bible writings in Jenny's full explanation in this episode.[27:02] The Book of RevelationsMany believe that John wrote Revelations between 90 and 95 AD. However, based on his age and writing, it makes sense to have been written around 60 ADRevelations is the last book in the Bible as it describes the destruction of the temple and how it embodies the Mosaic Covenant.Jenny asks important questions to better understand Revelations in her journey. This brings her to the realization that the Old Covenant is done and the New Covenant has everything we need.[31:30] Explaining the Olivet DiscourseThe Olivet Discourse is found in Matthew 24 and Luke 21. Before this, Jesus calls out the Pharisees and scribes as hypocrites in Matthew 23.Jesus and His disciples talk about His proclamation of judgment on the Pharisees, the destruction of the temple, and when it will occur. The disciples ask Jesus about the signs of coming and the end of the age, referring to the Old Covenant Age.In Matthew, Jesus refers to the “Abomination of Desolation” mentioned by Daniel about the first-century destruction. Luke 21 tells the same story of this discourse where he writes about this desolation as Jerusalem surrounded by armies.These chapters and verses can be seen in the Roman-Jewish war between 66 AD and 70 AD.Jesus' proclamation was fulfilled. Romans conquered, took people captive, and left others dead. Not one stone was left in the temple when it was destroyed in the war.[42:38] The End of the Old CovenantThe 70 weeks of Daniel was during Jesus' 3-and-a-half-year ministry. He was crucified midway through the 70th week. [43:19] Jenny: “When Jesus came when he resurrected and ascended into heaven, He began reigning at that point. The new covenant was in effect for those who accepted it.” After Jesus' resurrection and ascension, the New Covenant and His reign began.This overlapped with the Old Covenant as it became obsolete and slowly vanished. The fall of the temple was the end of the Old Covenant.[46:14] Following the Way of the New CovenantRecently, there has been talk about rebuilding the temple. However, Jenny believes that this is a distraction of the enemy from our task to grow and become many. [46:34] Jenny: “You and I are the temple and the Holy Spirit. God dwells in us and where He dwells is His glory. So when it says the glory will fill the whole Earth, that is us, believers.” People are so focused on what can happen in the future that it distracts us from what we should be doing. Many are scared and choose not to live their lives due to this fear.We get stuck in fear. However, it's important to ask about if this is from the Lord. The Lord is perfect love and not based on fear.John, as a prophet of the first century, wrote Revelations referring to the first destruction of the temple like the prophets of the Old Testament.Jenny believes we are at the end of the book, experiencing Jesus' reign and waiting for His return. We are made spiritually new in Christ but yearn for physical restoration.[56:16] Freedom From Fear By Understanding the End TimesWhat Jenny has learned about the end times has helped her in understanding the New Covenant.She is now on a new journey to find out what it means to be a new creation and know our true identity.Once we stop fearing and looking for the Antichrist and more, we can focus on Jesus and the New Covenant. Al cumplirse un mes del terremoto que sacudió el occidente de Colombia, RFI recorrió varios municipios del norte del Valle del Cauca, entre ellos Roldanillo, Toro y El Águila. Entre viviendas destruidas, refugios improvisados y obras apenas iniciadas, los testimonios recogidos muestran que la reconstrucción avanza a ritmos muy desiguales y que, en muchos casos, depende de la solidaridad de familiares, vecinos y donantes. Reportaje de nuestra corresponsal en Cali, Carmen Andrea Rengifo. El 10 de agosto pasado, a las 7h34 de la mañana, la tierra se movió con fuerza. El epicentro del terremoto, de magnitud 7,4, fue en el municipio de San José del Palmar, en el departamento del Chocó. La sacudida atravesó el occidente colombiano y dejó más de 330 muertos. Estamos en Roldanillo, en el norte del Valle del Cauca. Ha pasado un mes desde el terremoto. En la fachada de la vivienda de Luz Mary Giusti Varela se lee un aviso que dice: "Uso restringido". A sus 78 años, Luz Mary está sacando con las manos los restos de su casa. “Qué íbamos a pensar que de la noche a la mañana íbamos a tener este inconveniente tan grave”, dice. Desde el terremoto duerme donde una hermana, pero vuelve todos los días para retirar escombros y recuperar lo que todavía puede salvar. “Desde el día del terremoto toda mi familia, mis sobrinos, me ayudaron a sacar todos los enseres y a llevarlos a cuatro casas de familiares. Luego hemos venido aquí poco a poco, sacando lo que nos ha ido quedando y tratando de retirar los escombros para aprovechar cuando viene el carro recolector de escombros”. Le preguntamos de donde sale ese carro. “Pues me imagino que el municipio”. Luego nos invita a entrar para ver las condiciones en que quedó mi casa. “No podemos habitarla. Esta pared se nos desploma hacia el lado de allá. Mire que está bien abierta”, dice señalando unas grietas. Cuando empezó a temblar, ella estaba adentro de su residencia. Mientras recorremos la vivienda, señala el lugar exacto donde se encontraba y el bloque que cayó a pocos pasos. “Yo me quedé en el marco de una puerta, aquí, en esta pieza. Me agarré así y alcancé a salir”. Luz Mary sigue entrando a una casa que oficialmente no puede habitar. Un ingeniero le explicó que la estructura podría repararse con columnas y vigas de amarre. La vivienda fue construida por su padre en 1952 y quedó para la familia. Solidaridad en San Pacho En San Pacho, corregimiento del municipio de Toro, nos encontramos con Bertha Oliva Bedoya, de 77 años. Camina despacio desde el fondo del galpón, apoyada en dos muletas. La artrosis le dificulta el andar. “Ella está discapacitada, pero no se queda quieta”, nos dice la vecina que nos conduce hasta ella. La mañana del 10 de agosto Bertha Oliva estaba atendiendo a sus gallinas, limpiando la cochera y poniendo agua a los animales. “Cuando empezó el terremoto escuché a los vecinos gritar. Yo estaba solita. Me agarré de un poste que había ahí. Menos mal el techo no tenía tejas, sino zinc. Cuando todo pasó vi el desastre: la casa de allá se cayó encima de la mía. Todo el techo cayó sobre el mío y mi casa se fue hacia el otro lado del cerco. Cuando miré, las paredes se tambaleaban”. Un mes después, el terreno de Bertha ya no luce como aquel primer día. Entre los restos de la antigua vivienda aparecen nuevas paredes y una cocina que todavía está en obra gris. “Mi hijo y muchas amistades vinieron a ayudarnos. Llegó una familia de Cali, vino mucha gente. Entre todos hicieron un combo. De Toro vinieron muchas amistades. Mi hijo trajo un maestro de obra de Pitalito, Huila, y a las carreras levantaron esto que ve aquí. En trece días levantaron todo”, dice. Pero esas primeras paredes no significan que la reconstrucción esté resuelta. Su hijo tuvo que volver a Pitalito y lo que falta depende ahora de materiales que la familia consiga fiados. Damos gracias a Dios porque la señora de la ferretería nos dio lo que necesitábamos. Nos dijo: "Me van pagando como puedan, de a millón o de a quinientos mil. Gracias a Dios nos facilitó todo para poder trabajar”, dice. Vallejuelo: promesas, pero sin fecha En Vallejuelo, otro corregimiento de Toro, Edinson Cañarte González camina entre los restos de la casa que construyó durante años. Tiene 76 años y se apoya en un bordón mientras nos invita a entrar. “Yo no puedo caminar mucho. Yo voy caminando lentamente”, dice. Mientras la prometida casa llega, Edinson ha tenido que resolver dónde dormir. Ensayó una noche en la vivienda de su hijo, pero no es una solución de largo plazo porque también está dañada y con las lluvias tuvieron que apuntalarla para evitar que se terminara de caer. Así que volvió a su terreno, donde apenas le levantaron un refugio provisional en el espacio que antes ocupaba su casa. “El alcalde ya ha venido dos veces a visitarme. Me dijo: ‘No se preocupe, le vamos a fabricar su casita'. La promesa está hecha, pero no sabe cuándo se la van a cumplir. Roldanillo, "buenos corazones" Muy cerca de allí, en Roldanillo, Consuelo Rojas Jiménez enfrenta otra incertidumbre. El albergue donde se refugia está por cerrar. Ella todavía no sabe dónde va a dormir después. Su casa quedó tan dañada que tuvieron que demolerla. Sus padres la habían levantado poco a poco, reuniendo materiales como podían. “Gracias a Dios han aparecido buenos corazones. Nos están regalando cemento y ladrillo. Ahora me siento más segura porque le van a poner columnas. Va a quedar mucho mejor”, confía. Las ayudas para la reconstrucción empiezan a llegar. Lo que Consuelo todavía no tiene es un lugar donde quedarse hasta que su casa vuelva a estar en pie. “Le pedimos el favor a cualquier persona que pueda ayudarnos. Anoche vino una prima y le dije: ‘Usted que anda en moto, avíseme si sabe de algún lugar'' Porque uno tiene que saber para dónde ir”. El Águila, hospital en ruinas, pero personal al frente De Roldanillo seguimos hacia el municipio de El Águila, en el extremo norte del Valle del Cauca. Allí el terremoto no solo golpeó viviendas, sino que también dejó en ruinas el Hospital San Rafael, el único centro asistencial del municipio y sus alrededores. Cuando el edificio empezó a moverse, pacientes y trabajadores salieron como pudieron. Una funcionaria quedó atrapada bajo un escritorio. Apenas terminó el sismo, dos compañeras regresaron al hospital, siguieron sus gritos y lograron rescatarla. No hubo muertos dentro del centro médico, pero el edificio ya no podía seguir funcionando. “Inmediatamente después del terremoto montamos un hospital de campaña. Sacamos las carpas de Misión Médica y las instalamos en el parque. Bomberos y Policía también ayudaron. Todo fue supremamente rápido. Sacábamos camillas, equipos y materiales, y los íbamos instalando en el parque para continuar la atención. Armamos una zona de urgencias y seguimos trabajando”, explica Olga Lucía Aguilar, la gerente del Hospital San Rafael. Con el paso de los días surgió otra tarea: encontrar dónde seguir atendiendo a los pacientes. La urgencia salió del parque y se trasladó a una construcción que había servido anteriormente como hospital. Otros servicios fueron repartidos entre locales, un puesto de salud y una casa. Un mes después, cerca de 60 trabajadores continúan distribuidos en tres lugares diferentes. “La terapia física va para uno de los locales de afuera. Citologías y programas de prevención están en uno de los cubículos. El laboratorio clínico toma las muestras aquí, aunque los análisis deben hacerse en otro sitio. Luego los resultados se entregan acá”, comenta Olga Lucía Aguilar. Cargando tejas a los 67 años En ese mismo municipio vive Amilbia Valle Gutiérrez. Tiene 67 años. La encontramos cargando tejas. Su casa creció al ritmo de lo que la familia podía conseguir: primero dos habitaciones, luego otra pieza y una pequeña cocina. El terremoto le arrancó el techo. Su esposo vive del jornal y desde entonces buena parte de sus días se van tratando de sostener lo que quedó. “Nos dicen que hay que esperar y esperar. Mi esposo fue a preguntar y le dijeron lo mismo, que hay que esperar. Y mire cuánto tiempo ha pasado. El terremoto fue el 10 de agosto y ya se cumplió el mes. Vivo con miedo de que se me moje la casita. Un señor noble me regaló un plástico y el otro lo compré con mucha dificultad”, dice. De regreso en Roldanillo, Luz Mary Justy sigue entrando a su casa para llenar recipientes con pedazos de pared, tierra y tejas. Los lleva hasta la calle y regresa por más. Una tarea que se ha tornado muy lenta por su edad. Tiene miedo de entrar, pero no se detiene. Le cuesta sostener el recipiente. Tiene 78 años y después del terremoto siente que está empezando de nuevo. “Nosotros no pensamos derribar la casa. Ya nos han dicho que tiene arreglo, que con una pared nueva y buenas vigas se puede salvar. Lo que pasa es que estas casas no tienen vigas de amarre, sino chonta”, explica. Un mes después, en el norte del departamento del Valle del Cauca, algunas paredes comienzan a levantarse. Otras casas siguen igual que el primer día de la tragedia. A unos la reconstrucción ya les llegó, a otros los dejó varados, contando los días bajo un plástico prestado.

Pasado un tiempo se subió a un árbol cerca de su jaula y se hamacó tanto que cayó en la jaula de un león africano. Empezó a gritar: “Socorro, que soy un humano disfrazado de gorila”, a lo cual el león le dijo “Cállate. No digas nada, si no los dos nos quedamos sin trabajo”. Hay veces que tenemos tendencia a escondernos y a simular ser algo que no somos. Los psicólogos llaman a esto el fenómeno del impostor. Pero no fuimos hechos para complacer a los demás. No puede ser que vivas para agradar a alguien, porque eso te puede llevar a convertirte incluso en un asesino de identidad, como le pasó a Herodes. 2) Encarcelar: La vida espiritual comienza al otro lado de la entrega. Es entregarle a Dios tu futuro y abandonarte en Él. Es luchar para no controlar a los demás ni buscar cambiar a los demás para que sean como vos quieres que sean, porque eso es encarcelar. Eso te dará una libertad maravillosa, cuando soltás, cuando empiezas a preocuparte del qué dirán de nosotros o te importa mucho la imagen o la crisis que no la podés resolver ya, te termina esclavizando. Cuando nos enteramos de un chisme sobre nosotros o cuando alguien escribe algo malo de nosotros en redes y pasamos una semana sin dormir, ahí descubrimos que volvimos a querer agarrar el control. Por eso tu lucha espiritual es soltar y encomendar. 3) Entristeció: Pide a Dios siempre el don de la serenidad para no actuar desde las pasiones, sino desde el corazón. Te comparto esta oración que e ayuda bastante. La oración de la serenidad: Señor, concédeme la serenidad para aceptar las cosas que no puedo cambiar. El valor para cambiar las cosas que sí puedo cambiar y la sabiduría para conocer la diferencia. Viviendo un día a la vez, disfrutando un momento a la vez. Aceptando las dificultades del camino, como Jesús lo hizo, confiando en que Tú harás que todo salga bien. Si me entrego a tu voluntad para que Tú tomes el control. Señor, te ruego ser razonablemente feliz en esta vida y sumamente feliz contigo por siempre en la eternidad. AménAlgo bueno está por venir.

Novák Norbi, Hollywoodban élő magyar modell és színész mesél a Los Angeles, New York, Ralph Lauren, Nike, Calvin Klein, a modellkarrier és a színészet kulisszatitkairól. A MÓKA Podcast legújabb epizódjában szó esik az amerikai álom valódi áráról, a kitartásról, a visszautasításokról, az önbizalomról és arról, hogyan lehet Magyarországról eljutni Hollywoodig. Norbi története Zalaegerszeg mellől indul, ahol gyerekként amerikai filmeket nézett, és már akkor arról álmodott, hogy egyszer eljut New Yorkba. Az út azonban nem volt egyenes. Először Írországba költözött, ahol pincérként és pultosként dolgozott, miközben szinte a nulláról kellett megtanulnia angolul. Saját bevallása szerint a nyelvet főként rapzenékből és maffiafilmekből tanulta. Egy kis DVD lejátszón újra és újra visszanézte a jeleneteket, lefordította a párbeszédeket, és így építette fel a nyelvtudását. Később Denverbe, majd Miami környékére költözött, ahol egy barátja biztatta arra, hogy próbálja ki magát modellként. Kezdetben nem hitt magában, rengeteg ingyenes fotózást vállalt, saját pénzéből építette a portfólióját, és hosszú időn keresztül szinte csak tanult és kapcsolatokat épített. Ahogy ő mondja, a legtöbb ember csak a sikert látja, de azt nem, hogy éveken át mennyi munka, visszautasítás és bizonytalanság előzi meg. A nagy áttörést New York hozta meg. Szinte terv nélkül költözött a városba, mindössze egyetlen napra volt biztos szállása, mégis hitt benne, hogy megoldódnak a dolgok. Rövid idő alatt lakást talált, modellügynökséghez került, majd castingról castingra járva megszerezte első komoly munkáit. Innen vezetett az út a Ralph Lauren kampányhoz, később pedig olyan márkákkal dolgozott együtt, mint a Nike és a Calvin Klein. A beszélgetés azonban sokkal többről szól, mint divatról vagy Hollywoodról. Norbi őszintén mesél az édesapjáról, a családról, az érzelmek kimutatásáról, valamint arról, miért fontosabb számára a lelki béke, mint a pénz vagy a hírnév. El senador socialista Juan Luis Castro salió al paso de las críticas y defendió haber anunciado antes de tiempo el requerimiento que presentará la oposición ante el Tribunal Constitucional por la cláusula de invariabilidad tributaria, incluida en el proyecto de Megarreforma que se discute en el Congreso.El parlamentario descartó que la decisión haya generado un quiebre con la presidenta de su partido, Paulina Vodanovic, ya que "fue con ella la conversación, así como con todos los senadores del PS y PPD, así que no hay emboscada con nadie". De igual forma, Castro desmintió versiones de un almuerzo de comité de oposición "a los gritos" al interior de la Cámara Alta.Según el senador, ya cuentan con los 12 votos del Socialismo Democrático para hacer esta presentación, por lo que requieren sumar al menos otro apoyo que buscarán en los comités de oposición. Además señaló que el requerimiento se presentará ante el TC una vez que la megarreforma sea despachada por el Congreso.Consultado por los desencuentros entre los partidos de oposición, Juan Luis Castro apuntó que están "buscando su tono, su manera de poder desplegarse en un tiempo distinto. 1) Servir: Creo que todos creamos estereotipos sin darnos cuenta. En una prestigiosa universidad, en un día de clase, se encontraba en la biblioteca un señor en jeans con camiseta negra, pelo largo y un poco descuidada su barba, usaba zapatillas y tenía varios libros en sus manos. Todos se preguntaban quién era ese tipo. La respuesta es que era un profesor de física que venía de España. Este señor se dirigió a las oficinas de la Secretaría Académica buscando al decano de la universidad. El señor le dijo al decano: “Vengo a pedir trabajo como profesor de física”. El decano lo miró de arriba a abajo y se dijo para sí: “Esta es la antítesis de lo que tiene que ser un profesor universitario”. El decano lo lleva a una sala donde había media docena de profesores universitarios con título de doctores y licenciados, en saco y corbata y bien peinados. Delante de ellos le dijo: “Mire, señor, hace poco recibimos este libro como texto guía. Y estamos aquí todos los profesores intentando resolver estos problemas de física que trae el libro. Si usted es capaz de resolver alguno yo lo contrato como profesor de esta prestigiosa universidad”. El hombre toma el texto, va a la pizarra y comienza a resolver todos los problemas que le habían indicado uno tras del otro. Todos los profesores cambiaron la sonrisa de burla, de un principio, a cara de asombro, cuando terminó el decano lo miró y le dice: “¿Cómo lo hizo?”, “Aquí estuvimos mucho tiempo para resolver esto y no lo logramos resolver” Y el hombre le dijo: “Es que yo soy el autor del libro”. 2) Graneros: La mejor forma de equivocarnos con las personas es juzgarlas por cómo lucen. Jesús nos sigue enseñando que Él mira el corazón. Si queremos de verdad valorar a las personas como son, no tenemos que fiarnos de la apariencia, sino más bien de las obras. Si los frutos son buenos el árbol es bueno y si los frutos son malos el árbol es malo. Creo que pocas veces nos quedamos a reflexionar de lo mucho que nos puede ayudar no dejarnos llevar por la primera impresión. Hay gente que hasta se casó por una aparente buena impresión y luego se querían matar. Como así también por primera impresión alguien dijo: “No, no me gusta, no va a ser para mi vida”, y luego entró en el amor. La experiencia muestra que si uno toma el trabajo de mirar dos veces redescubre otras facetas para bien o para mal, pero el instinto primitivo y cultural nos hace vincular la belleza con la bondad y la fealdad con la maldad. Muchos toman a la gente como las novelas mexicanas del canal de las estrellas, que mi mamá veía cuando yo era chico, en donde el villano es feo y el galán es el héroe. Incluso rotulamos que el mexicano está metido en cosas raras, que el argentino es soberbio y anda en cosas turbias, etc…. No podemos andar por la vida prejuzgando, porque eso nos termina empobreciendo como personas y hasta incluso como creyentes. 3) Inquieten: Creo que es necesario que no te andes preocupando tanto por tantas cosas que no son necesarias. Por ende, aprende a discernir lo importante de lo urgente. Mira la vida en su totalidad y valora lo que verdaderamente aporta a tu vida y no lo que le da ciertos fuegos artificiales. La riqueza no pasa por lo que tienes en el banco en tu cuenta bancaria, sino en el corazón. Acordate que pobre no es quien tiene poco, sino aquel que carece de mucho. Algo bueno está por venir.
