Michigan born singer/songwriter May Erlewine has been putting out her own music for almost 20 years. She's also released music with the Sweet Water Warblers. Her music has been covered by many artists, including Sawyer Fredericks, who performed her song, “Shine On,” on NBC's The Voice. Her brand new album, Tiny Beautiful Things, deals a lot with the connections between people - something sorely missing during the worldwide Pandemic. In her own words, she says “this album is an invitation to connect with the many ways that love appears in our lives."We talk with Erlewine about the challenges of recording the album remotely. She also gives us the inspiration behind many of the songs on the new record.
Jerome is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Wilton, CT. Born in 1990 in Seattle, Washington, then growing up in Austin, Texas, he picked up guitar at an early age, absorbing a wide range of musical styles from jazz and blues to rock, pop, country, and more. He currently is the guitarist for Sawyer Fredericks.
We had an amazing conversation with Season 8 The Voice winner Sawyer Fredericks on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about so many things from calling, family, music, sacrifices, he told some great stories plus performed 3 great songs! This was a VERY candid conversation we had with him.
This week on The Road Trip Playlists Podcast, my guest is Sawyer Fredericks. Sawyer was the season eight winner of NBC's The Voice and was the youngest contestant ever to win the show. Sawyer recently released a new album 'Flowers For You,' and we talk to him about some of the stories behind this record. He tells us about the "mostly happy" love song he wrote for his girlfriend called 'Days Go By.' He tells me stories of his favorite activities on his farm in New York state. I learn a lot about Sawyer Fredericks, his music, if he is still a picky eater, and that he is a bit of a cinephile in this episode of The Road Trip Playlists Podcast. Make sure you subscribe, rate, and review for more great interviews with incredible artists. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

He WON Season 8 of NBC's "THE VOICE". Is there life AFTER a career highlight like that at such an early age? Plus a quick game of "Would You Rather", and much more. We discuss how they got into music at such young ages and their various musical influences, meeting each other through Craigslist, their early practices and first show at The Bitter End in New York City’s Greenwich Village opening for “The Voice” winner Sawyer Fredericks, why two of the members originally hated each other, what it was like competing in the Got Talent contests, their old school tastes in music and even TV shows, the original names of the band and how they decided on The Tellerz, funny behind-the-scenes stories, writing and recording their first EP of original music, the unwavering support from their parents to pursue music, making American flag shorts, being honored with a brand new award in the 2016 Steamtown Music Awards, and their full lineup of shows this summer. In The Last Word segment, we encourage everyone to come out and participate in the next season of NEPA Scene’s Got Talent, which runs every for 12 weeks starting June 28 at Thirst T’s Bar & Grill (120 Lincoln St, Olyphant).
