They ask if England are being let down by their own surfaces, debate who may play in the XI for the final Test at The Oval, and discuss if India were right not to shake hands at the earliest opportunity. An episode that proudly waves the fandom flag!In Episode 151 of The Autistic Culture Podcast, Dr. Angela Kingdon explores Pillar 10 of Autistic Culture: Passionate Superfanning, with special guest Simon Scott, producer of the show and host of the Neurodivergent Experience Podcast. Whether it's Doctor Who, Star Trek, My Chemical Romance, football, podcasts, or even Renaissance festivals, superfanning is more than a hobby—it's cultural identity, emotional regulation, and community-building for many autistic people. What defines this core Autistic trait?Superfanning and bonding with fictional friends hold a special place in autistic culture. Our intense special interests (SPINs), emotional depth, and fierce loyalty allow us to form meaningful, lasting connections with characters, narratives, and entire fictional universes. These connections offer comfort, inspiration, and understanding—especially when the real world feels overwhelming or isolating. Not just escapism—it's a connection.Superfanning involves more than casual enjoyment. It's about:* Genuine emotional connection* Intellectual and sensory engagement* Deep dives into lore, worldbuilding, and communityWe often collect memorabilia, memorise scripts, analyse stories, and find kindred spirits through fandom.Key Concepts* SPINs drive depth and consistency across years or decades.* Emotional regulation happens through repeated viewing, scripting, and community-building.* Characters become touchstones for identity, empathy, and storytelling fluency.* Conventions and fan spaces often feel more accessible than "real-world" social events.* Superfanning validates intense emotional investment—without apology or shame.

On this episode of the ReGen Brands podcast, a voice you know and love is back. Kyle returns after his brief two-episode hiatus, but this time as the guest. We're diving deep into a foundational issue facing regenerative CPG: we still have no unified way of tracking how regenerative products are performing at retail. From disjointed data systems and third-party paywalls to the chaos of unstandardized claims, this episode breaks down why brands, retailers, and certifiers are flying blind when it comes to understanding regen product performance. We explore how syndicated data platforms like SPINS and Nielsen work, why regenerative claims often aren't tracked, and what that means for brand strategy, buyer decisions, and movement-wide progress. Kyle also shares why even the best sales data means nothing if you can't translate it into value. Plus, we break down our two-pronged solution to ensure that regenerative products can be tracked just like organic, keto, or gluten-free items are today. And we detail the coordination effort it will require between certifiers, retailers, data companies, and brands. Episode Highlights:

What. A. Race. The hills were alive with the sound of V6 turbos at the Red Bull Ring, and we're here to break it all down. In this episode, we're talking:
Hours before closing arguments, prosecutors pulled back key charges in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ explosive criminal trial — a move that has his team predicting victory and planning the ultimate redemption arc. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt is stirring headlines of his own after joking about missed gay opportunities. And in a separate scandal, #ShuterScoop can reveal that a former Real Housewife of New York was banned from SoulCycle after disruptive behavior in class Rob is joined by the charming Marc Lupo. The show starts with how CNN and others chose to run a slanted news story based on cherry-picked information leaked to them from a low confidence preliminary report on the results of the B-2 bombing run in Iran. The Secretary General of NATO praised President Trump for both his financial push to get other nations to step-up, but also his resolve to bring peace to the Middle East through strength. Neera Tanden testified behind closed doors, saying she ran the auto-pen from 2021-2023. There are at least four other staffers who will be questioned as part of the initial probe into how this happened and how knew about it. AOC thinks she can out-smart Trump, which is cute. NYC just elected, in the Democrat primary, a radical Communist who is also an extreme Islamist. His stances are worse than any current Democrat. California is under heat from the Administration. They are being sued for not turning over requested voter roles to see if illegals participated in Federal elections. And, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon says California has 10 days to comply with Title XI or face consequences. As we close, we get a soft moment from a reporter from Ukraine asking a question of Donald Trump. And, Rep. Al Green (D-TX) had his Articles of Impeachment tabled. 128 Democrats sided with the GOP in stopping them from proceeding. The segment criticizes left-wing media and Democratic leaders for downplaying the threat, while highlighting the ideological rift within the Democratic Party, including former Biden Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre's surprise declaration of independence from the party. Also discussed: ICE backlash, Muslim extremism, political gaslighting, and Elon Musk's critique of Trump-era deficits. A raw, polarizing broadcast that captures the political chaos and shifting allegiances heading into 2024.

An episode that welcomes you to a brand-new chapter in this project - one that has been years in the making! In Episode 131 of The Autistic Culture Podcast, we are revisiting the 10 Pillars of Autistic Culture! What you're about to hear is a special remastered version of an earlier episode that introduced the 10 Pillars of Autistic Culture, plus updated context and reflections from me about what it means in this new chapter. These are the building blocks of everything we're creating together going forward. This episode originally aired in January 2024, and since this episode first aired, I've taken a deeper look at the structure of the show and the framework we use to understand autistic culture.I've refined the 10 Pillars updating their names, sharpening the descriptions, and better connecting them to our lived traits, like sensory processing differences, stimming, emotional intensity, and our beautiful SPINs.What you'll hear in this episode is the heart of the work but think of it as the “draft” version.Over the next 10 weeks, I'll be highlighting one updated pillar each week with a replay of an episode that really brings that theme to life. I'll also share new context and reflections to go deeper. We'll unpack what each one means, how it shows up in our lives, and why it's worth celebrating. But I wanted to bring you this episode just as it aired because even though things have changed, this conversation holds so many gems, and it was a joyful reflection of where we were. And now, we get to go even deeper.Lets quickly walk you through what those 10 pillars are now. You might notice a few name changes:* Bottom-Up Processing (formerly “Logic and Strategy”)We build understanding from the ground up detail by detail, pattern by pattern. Think Sherlock Holmes, chess masters, scientific discovery.* Rhythmic Communicating (formerly “Linguistics and Accents”)Our conversations are musical echolalia, scripting, tangents, infodumps. There's a beat, a flow, a poetry to how we speak.* Norm Challenging (formerly “Deep Thinking and Insights”)We question assumptions. We live authentically. We honor truth over politeness, equity over hierarchy, and insight over illusion.* World BuildingWe don't just tell stories we create entire universes. Pokémon. Star Wars. Dungeons & Dragons. Autistic imagination builds the future.* Pattern Matching (formerly “Data Gathering and Analysis”)SPINs. Trivia nights. Wikipedia editing. Sexuality research. We find the signal in the noise and bring meaning to the chaos.* Game Changing (formerly “Innovative Ideas”)We're not following trends we're starting them. We rethink, reinvent, and rebuild systems from the ground up. Think Steve Jobs. Questlove. Muybridge.* Boldly Creating (formerly “Artistic Expression”)We paint with stims. We sing in scripts. We dance in sensory rhythm. Our creativity is intense, embodied, and often unconventional.* Predictably Comforting (formerly “Consistency and Reliability”)Repetition, routines, safe foods, rituals. These aren't rigidity they're anchors. Comfort. Stability. Power.* Justice Seeking (formerly “Justice and Honesty”)Fairness isn't optional it's essential. Emotional intensity meets ethical clarity. From Greta Thunberg to John McEnroe we stand for truth.* Passionate Superfanning (formerly “Superfanning and Fictional Friends”)Star Trek. Doctor Who. My Little Pony. Go back and listen to the conversations I had with Ronny Deila and Ronald Hernandez after the match, the frustration is felt by everyone at the moment and they've got to find a way to turn that around quickly as they're next on the pitch in Austin on Wednesday (with gameday high temps set for 106) and back home to face Philadelphia on Saturday.Minnesota dealt Miami their 4th loss in their last 5 games, and barely had the ball in doing so. Danny Musovski in rarefied air for Seattle with goals in five straight games for the Sounders, scoring in their 3-1 win at Houston. NY Red Bulls defeated LA Galaxy 7-0 Saturday night, the worst ever loss for the Galaxy in their 30-year history.Vancouver, after their comeback 2-2 draw against LAFC last night, leads the Supporters' Shield race in MLS while Atlanta is in the bottom five in the league standings. A Classic El Clásico as Barcelona defeated Real Madrid for the fourth time this season, the first time that's been done since 1983. Madrid scored twice in the first 15 minutes through Kylian Mbappe, whose hat trick was wasted, but Barcelona had taken a 3-2 lead 20 minutes after his second goal and then added a 4th before halftime. The second half saw Mbappe complete his hat trick, a number of controversial referee decisions, and Barcelona celebrate essentially winning the league title as they only need one more point in their remaining matches. The managerial carousel is spinning in Madrid, as we expected. Fabrizio Romano reporting this morning that the deal is done for Xabi Alonso to join Real Madrid, and it will happen in time for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer. It will be a three-year contract. The semifinals are set in Mexico's Clausura as Club America will face Cruz Azul and Tigres will face Toluca. Alex Zendejas scored both goals in Las Aguilas win to set up another Mexico City derby, he has to be part of the USMNT this summer as he's had another strong season for Club America. Crazy scenes at the end of the Nottingham Forest 2-2 draw with Leicester as confusion over a late substitution and injury led to sort-of owner Evangelos Marinakis going out on the field and yelling at manager Nuno Espirito Santo. Bad look, but jumping to say that Nuno should resign over it was also over the top. Inter has cut Napoli's lead in Serie A down to one point after winning in a thunderstorm at Torino while Napoli was held to a draw by Genoa in Naples. Plenty more in the Espresso video and audio forms including my thoughts on the whistles at Trent Alexander-Arnold in Liverpool, the dangers of fan-led pitch invasions in celebration, and the risks of pregame and postgame social media trash talk from clubs. More Espresso tomorrow on the SDH Network, presented by our friends at Oglethorpe University.
McCabe Holds the Line as Karen Read's Defense Spins in Circles The second segment of McCabe's testimony went deeper—this time focusing on how she handled the timeline and the events at 34 Fairview. The defense kept throwing curveballs, trying to paint her as inconsistent or rehearsed. But every time they swung, she let it sail by. Calm. Controlled. Not rattled. She doubled down that Karen was panicked, saying “I hit him” over and over. The defense tried insinuating she was covering for the Alberts or for herself—but no slip-ups, no cracks. If the goal was to cast doubt, they missed.
