You are called to do great things. You are made in the Image of God. You are beautiful the way you are.

Jesus once asked his disciples “Who do you say I am?” They had heard reports of what others thought about Jesus. But Jesus wanted to know what they believed about him. The answer to that question reveals a lot about your faith. Like the disciples, we may hear rumors or reports from others about Jesus. But we must not take our cues from culture or any other preconceived notions we have about Jesus. Our answer must be rooted in Scripture.
When you're free to live your true self, your relationships have a better shot at being at their best. But FEW Americans know how to do this well. We see it all the time on Instagram...we post things that will get affirmed and liked, but we hide (the things that are TRUE about us) for fear we will get judged or condemned. Jesus shows us a better way. Jesus lived a life FREE from the control of the approval or disapproval of others.

Going back "home" isn't always what it's cracked up to be. Things change. People change. Home changes. Jesus experienced that when He returned to Nazareth. The people there were familiar with Him and that kept them from seeing Him as the Messiah. This continuation of our series on Luke looks at Jesus' preaching at Nazareth.

The people of Nazareth thought they knew what the Messiah would be like. When Jesus came and challenged them to reframe their understanding of the Messiah, they were forced to make a choice. We are too. What will you choose?

The Open Door Christian Church Sunday messages and Wednesday Growing Deeper services.
Humble, broken, and contrite believer, you are rich in Jesus, you are clothed in His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21), you are liberated from captivity to sin (John 8:36). Realize the blessings you have in Him and be thankful. Continue to realize our desperate need to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior. Rejection by the world can be disappointing, but Jesus tells us to rejoice and be exceeding glad, for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you (Matthew 5:12).

The good news of Luke - God's mercy and compassion are available to all. Jesus brought a message of freedom. He is less concerned about the physical/material and more concerned with the Spiritual. Jesus wants to open the eyes of your heart.

Part 7 of the Perfect Man series from the Gospel of Luke.
"Who Is Jesus?" For years, mankind has wrestled with this question. Some say Jesus is our Savior. Others say He's no more than a great teacher. Some say Jesus was a social revolutionary. Others claim He was God in the flesh. Regardless of where they come from, everyone has an opinion about Him. So, who was Jesus? The Gospel of Luke tells us a lot about Jesus' identity. It tells us that He is the Messiah. It tells us that He is the Christ. He is the "Son of Man," the "Son of David," and the "Son of God." He’s the One with all authority and power. He’s the One with all glory and honor. He’s the One who history revolves around. He is no mere man. He is “The One.” Selected Quotes: "Jesus has to come fix things. He wants to undo what sin has done." "If it weren't for Jesus, we would be stuck in sin. [But] He came to restore our freedom from the most oppressive regime in human history." "He came to restore our sight. He allows us to finally see the things that are most important. We can see who God is. We can see who we are supposed to be. We can see how life really works and where it ultimately leads. With Jesus, we have sight."

Every Christian needs to start doing ministry somewhere.Where did Jesus start? What happened at the launch of his new ministry? We can learn about ministry by looking at Jesus launching His new work.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1 v8
God is on mission, and so are we.
Walking with Jesus, Led by the Spirit
By many standards, Jesus' ministry would appear to have gotten off to a rough start, but things are not always what they first appear. In this study, we will learn that success in ministry is not necessarily gauged by popular opinion.
Pastor Brian points out the purpose of Jesus' coming, and challenges us to make it our purpose each day.
Jesus is intentional to where He goes and what he does. When Jesus comes, everyone pays, even if a debt that is owed to is now let go. We are invited to Be open to the Messiah that does what I need, not what i want.

Pastor Phil asks us to ponder, what's the point of it all? Why is living a life for Jesus anything important?
