1. - The Holy Spirit is more than a power or something that is mentioned in the doxology or in a ritual. He is the Third Person of the Trinity. He is God. 2. - He has a specific ministry that is often described using symbols to help us understand our need of Him 3. - You need His personal ministry and work in your life 4. - He is called the breath of God or the one who brings life 5. - He is the counselor to teach, guide, and help you understand so that you can experience personally all the Father has promised you as a believer 6. - He descended like a dove to demonstrate the comfort and peace He brings 7. - He is like oil symbolizing the anointing and blessing He gives you in doing the works that the Lord has prepared for you to do 8. - His work is to convict you of sin, bring you to repentance, regenerate and deliver you form the power and dominion of sin 9. - He is the Spirit of Holiness 10. - He helps prepare our hearts to be a living sacrifice so that He can purify your heart and mind from inbred sin and carnality so that you are a vessel of honor 11. - He is like fire because He purifies your spirit, soul and body 12. - He equips and empowers you to do the good, pleasing and perfect will of God 13. - He is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond what you could ever ask or think in order to bring glory in His church and to Christ Jesus.

Abraham knew the voice & _Intent of God. 2. Elohim means that God is apart from the constraints of space (Omnipresent)...Omnipresent: God is present everywhere…at all the same time 4. Healing in the Power of the Spirit Date: July 27, 2014 Scripture: Acts 3:1-10 Big Idea: God gets great honor when He heals us even without any faith of our own. 1. The Holy Spirit uses us during the most ordinary times of our lives if we will be ready (1) a. They committed their normal day-to-day lives to God b. They were committed to being used even if it was inconvenient c. They were committed to being used even if they failed Lesson: God uses people who are always at the ready to be His hand extended into hurting lives 2. Sometimes we ask for God’s second best (3) a. The beggar asked for money when God wanted to give him healing b. He looked to a man for assistance, instead of looking to God Lesson: Always seek God’s best answer as it relates to your healing 3. God chooses to use real live people to answer our prayers Lesson: Expect that God will use our pasts and experiences to be the answer to someone’s need …even healing 4. Courage Because of the Holy Spirit Date: June 9, 2019 Scripture: Acts 3:11-26 Big Idea: The Holy Spirit will give us the courage so that He can get all the glory. Introduction: 1. Courageous believers should never try to hide the glory of God! (8-11) a. Telling your story catches the attention of unbelievers b. Telling your story emboldens other believers c. Preaching in the Power of the Spirit Date: June 2, 2019 Scripture: Acts 2:22-24; 32-39 Big Idea: The resurrection of Jesus was part of God’s purposeful plan to reconcile us to Himself, and establish Jesus as our Christ and Lord. 1. Creation: We were created in the image of God to have warm fellowship with Him. (Genesis 1-2) 2. Sin: God loved us so much that He gave us the free will to choose—Adam and Eve chose to sin, and their sin separated us from God. (Genesis 2:16-17; 3) 3. Atonement: God knew that this separation could only be mended through a loving act of reconciliation paid for by a price He could only pay. (Deuteronomy 32) 4. Messiah: God sent His sinless Son to earth to become our Messiah and sacrifice. (I Peter 1:17-21) 5. Incarnation: Jesus was born like us; lived with us; was tempted like us; all without sinning. (Romans 3:1-4) 6. Crucifixion: He took our sins on His shoulders, paid our price, suffered and died on the cross in our place. (Luke 23) 7. Many were saved because of the power of the Holy Spirit II. You will minister in ever-increasing influence a. The disciples were powerful in witness only through the Holy Spirit i. Powerful in witness if they waited for the Holy Spirit to come on them ii. Powerful in witness if they were absolutely and totally sold out b. The disciples were powerful in ever increasing geographical areas of influence iii. Jerusalem: represented their home…where they were comfortable… iv. Judea: represented a larger geographical area…but still relatively safe v. Samaria: represented the those who were different than they were… vi.
