A massive search was launched when she vanished, the search was so large even Russia was asked to assist. The healthy young athlete went jogging in the Shoshone National Forest and was never seen again. Amy's husband led efforts to find his missing wife despite being considered the prime suspect. As years went by, other possible suspects were discussed….but the mystery of what happened to Amy Wroe Bechtel has never been solved. Henry took a summer job in the wilderness to get away from his life, but he could never have guessed what he was getting himself into... Firewatch, developed by Campo Santo, is a first-person mystery game where you play a brand new fire lookout in the wilds of Wyoming. Our main character, Henry, has left behind the rubble of his old life to pursue the solitude of the forests. His only lifeline is his boss Delilah, who he can communicate with exclusively via walkie-talkie. While he searches for himself, Henry and Delilah uncover much more than they ever expected, hidden in Shoshone National Forest. In Episode 24 of No Small Games, special guest Jules (known online as ShinobiJules) joins Kate and Emily to review the game Firewatch. You'll hear their takes on (and gripes with) the two main characters, their thoughts on game mechanics, and experiences navigating the (in-game) wilderness. We hope you love this episode, we're so grateful to Jules for joining us! July 24, 1997. Fremont County, Wyoming. After spending the day running errands, 24-year old Amy Wroe Bechtel never returns home and her abandoned car is discovered on a remote road in Shoshone National Forest. Even though he claims to have an alibi, Amy's husband, Steve Bechtel, is looked at as a potential suspect by law enforcement, due to his unwillingness to take a polygraph test. However, the investigation eventually focuses on convicted murderer Dale Wayne Eaton, who was supposedly in the area when Amy went missing, but there is no evidence to implicate him and no trace of Amy is ever found. On this week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we explore the puzzling disappearance of Amy Wroe Bechtel, who has continued to remain a missing person for the past 26 years. Special thanks to listener Kinza Carpenter for narrating the opening of this episode. Investigators found similarities between Amy's case and Eaton's modus operandi, including his affinity for abducting and killing young women. In 2002, Dale Wayne Eaton was charged with Amy Wroe Bechtel's murder based on circumstantial evidence and his history of violent crimes.Though without a body or direct evidence linking him to Amy's disappearance, Eaton was only convicted for the unrelated murder and not for her case specifically.Despite ongoing efforts to locate Amy and bring her killer to justice, her remains have not been found, and the exact details of her disappearance remain unknown.
