(Fremont County, WY) - No matter the topic, Randy Tucker probably has a story about it. Especially when it comes to Wyoming's vast history. Several of them, you can scroll through and find via his County 10 author tab. But when the topic is too extensive for a website post, why not write a few hundred pages instead? That's the approach Tucker took whilst researching a 124-mile stage and freight line that connected Rawlins to Fort Washakie from 1878 to 1906. Randy researched dozens stories about the trail through historic newspapers, rare photographs and family tales that have been passed down. Randy has two book signing events coming up in Fremont County. On Tuesday, November 18th at the Riverton Museum from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 20th at the Lander Pioneer Museum from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To hear more about the ideas behind the book, click the player below or search for the County 10 Podcast anywhere you listen to podcasts!

(Laramie, WY) - This time last year, Wyoming fans were preparing to see Evan Svoboda taking snaps under center. In 2025 the 6'5 251lb senior will move to tight end for the first time ever, making way for sophomore Kaden Anderson as the top quarterback on the depth chart. "Everything's new. It's all foreign to me," Evan told County 10. "From running routes, to blocking people, to hitting people every play. It's all been different but it's been a really fun journey and I'm looking forward to it." Evan said he didn't expect to ever play tight end, but that it's a good fit, "I'm naturally a big, physical person so it's been a relatively good transition." Svoboda's commitment to the program was admired by many Pokes fans. In an era where the transfer portal is used regularly, the Cowboy decided to keep playing for the brown and gold after losing his spot as QB1. "I think it's been instilled in me from a young age, definitely from my parents and my environment. I was given an opportunity to be here so I'm going to make the most of my opportunity." (Laramie, WY) - University of Wyoming football strong safety Andrew Johnson is no stranger to altitude. The Cheyenne-native and Central High School graduate plays at the division one campus with the highest altitude in the nation, 7,220 feet above sea level. After his final season on the gridiron, his goals go even higher. "I've loved aviation since I was a kid," Johnson told County 10 at UW Media Day Monday in Laramie. He explained that he spent much of his off-season flying around Wyoming and Montana, marveling about flying over the Tetons and Big Horn Mountains. "Now, my goal is to become a fighter pilot." Later joking that his favorite movie is 'Top Gun.' While ambitions to become a fighter pilot seem lofty, Andrew has already crossed off his first major life goal. Wearing the brown and gold. "It was my dream since I was a kid. It was everything I ever wanted to do. So when Coach Bohl gave me the opportunity to do so, it was the easiest decision of my life." The former Central High wide receiver and defensive back appeared in 11 games for the Pokes and started 5 of them last year. He recorded 19 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles. This season, he's expected to be a leader on the Cowboy defense. "We're bringing that toughness back to Wyoming football," Johnson said about summer camp. "Something that I experienced a lot in my early years here and that's something we need to maintain and bring into the season." Catch our full chat with Johnson in the player below! Wyoming center Jack Walsh is ready to lead the Pokes on and off the field this year [PODCAST]

(Laramie, WY) - "Nobody remembers us when we win, but they sure do when we give up a sack," Wyoming senior center Jack Walsh joked with us at UW Media Day Monday. The Cowboy has plenty of opportunities to be remembered for a very long time on the football field this year however. He was added to both the Lombardi Award Preseason Watch List, which is given to college football's best lineman (offense or defense) and the Outland Trophy Preseason Award Watch List, which goes to college football's best interior lineman. Walsh is moving from right guard to center this season too, a position he hasn't played regularly since 8th grade. But Jack's team-first attitude makes him excited to lead the guys up front. "I wanna be a source for the young guys, someone they can look to and trust to give them good advice, that's my main goal being an older guy, whatever someone needs help with on or off the field that's what I'm there for." Walsh smiled and told us last few practices have been fun, but exhausting, "It's been very physical. Coach Sawvel wants to see us play some football, see what guys are made of. But it's been fun. You have to do those things to get prepared for the season." Wyoming football kicks off August 28th at Akron.
