Glenn went to see a doctor about a year after the initial discovery and was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes. In addition to years of service to Wyoming high school sports herself, she's inspiring others to wear the stripes. Macey hosts basketball officials classes at Shoshoni High School. Many of her students have earned opportunities to call middle school and high school games. We had the chance to chat with the Fremont County official recently on the County 10 Sports Podcast. (Riverton, WY)- Shawn Griffin, CEO of Community Entry Services (CES), and Joe Stong join the C10 podcast! The discussion covers CES's 50th anniversary, its comprehensive services for adults with intellectual disabilities and traumatic brain injuries, and its various community support programs including residential services, adult day services, and employment opportunities. They emphasize the importance of community support and private fundraising to supplement Medicaid funding and highlight upcoming events like Dancing with the Stars, Festival of Trees, and Wyoming Gives. Sean and Joe express their gratitude for community sponsors and volunteers, stressing the need for continued advocacy and support. Volunteering is another meaningful way to get involved, whether you lend a hand at events or offer your time and talents to CES programs. Local businesses can make a big impact by partnering with CES to provide job opportunities for clients through their employment services program. And perhaps one of the simplest ways to support CES is by spreading the word... share the podcast, tell a friend, or post about their work on social media. Every bit of support helps strengthen this incredible organization and the people they serve. To learn more or get involved, visit ces-usa.org/riverton

(Lander, WY) – The KOVE 1330 AM / 107.7 FM Today in the 10 interview series, Coffee Time continued today with host Vince Tropea, who recently spoke with Leslie Stratmoen and Oakley Boycott. Stratmoen lives in Riverton and recently partnered with Jackie Stewart, owner of the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo, to display her exhibit, “Flappers to Fringe,” which showcases vintage women's clothing of the 1920s to 1970s. The exhibit will be showcased in six life-sized dioramas, each of which will include "a female mannequin with her steamer trunk as if she's a fashionable young lady of the day arriving at the hotel, unpacking and dressing for an event." Stratmoen amassed the clothing collection over her lifetime and bonded with Boycott through their shared love of fashion, theater, and costuming. Boycott has also been doing creative consulting and modeling the outfits for the online exhibition. The official opening will be June 21 at the Occidental with a gala celebration set for 7 PM (where guests are invited to dress in vintage clothing), and you can get a sneak peek of some of the clothing on display in the online exhibit linked above. ‘Go Baby Go!’ – A determined mom, a robotics club & the LOR Foundation team up for adaptive mobility device project

(Lander, WY) –  When Lander mom Amber Peckham-Jones realized there were accessibility issues in the Lander community for physically-challenged children like her daughter, she looked to Go Baby Go! for a possible solution. Go Baby Go is a nationwide effort that provides information on how to modify battery-operated ride-on cars "to give children with mobility impairments an opportunity to access play, exploration, and social encounters." Once Peckham-Jones had the idea, she needed to find someone who could build the devices, and a way to fund the project. That's where Pathfinder High School teacher/robotics club advisor Sam Hartpence and the LOR Foundation stepped in. After the LOR Foundation secured funding for the project, Sam was able to start ordering the materials needed, and his robotics team, along with other Pathfinder students, have already started helping plan the project, which they hope to have completed for the summer. "It's a project that brings engineering, empathy, and real-world impact together," Hartpence commented. Peckham-Jones' daughter, who has cerebral palsy, will be one of six children who receive one of the devices, as well as one of Hartpence's family members. Peckham-Jones and Hartpence shared that they hope this will be a local pilot program for the efforts, so that they can continue to provide the devices to more families in the future. Check out the full Coffee Time interview below with Peckham-Jones, Hartpence, and LVHS student/robotics club member Ethan Titus for even more details about the project!
