This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined by Ariel, Ripley, and David, the latter of whom is in an automotive showroom eating tiramisu and waiting for his car to be repaired. Ariel muses about why watch repair shops don't have waiting rooms, to which Ripley replies, "That would be a six-month rental." It's been a busy week in watch world, particularly for Ariel and David, who are fresh back from Geneva Watch Days. There was a heatwave in Geneva, and Ariel proclaimed Czapek & Cie to have won the sweat-resistant bracelet contest. David's take on GWD is that it was fun but way too much to take in during the time allotted. The guys get down to business with a look at the new H. Moser & Cie x Studio Underd0g collab, which Ariel thinks was designed in bright colors to attract insects and birds more than people. Rick simply doesn't get it, and David doesn't disagree. They then turn their attention to the new Konstantin Chaykin concept watch, ThinKing, the "world's thinnest mechanical watch." There's not a lot of traction among the team for this watch, either — but remember, it's a prototype. Rick has asked ChatGPT, "Which watch brand collaborations does no one want to see?" and the answer is the best possible argument against AI. Next up, Speake Marin has a new watch, the Ripples Skeleton, that the team has no truck with for various reasons discussed at length. All in all, it's been an iffy week of new watches. They wrap up with another round of Hit, Miss, Maybe. New Release: H. In this episode of aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick, Ariel, and David come together to talk about some of the latest new releases and trending stories from the world of watches. To kick off the show, the trio dives deep into a conversation about Instagram and the greater impact that it has had on watch collecting. The group unanimously acknowledges how it has brought a lot of people together and introduced countless new individuals to the hobby. However, given how ever-changing algorithms are continuously getting in the way of people actually seeing the content they want, the trio then attempts to answer the question as to whether or not Instagram is actually ruining watch collecting for everyone and how the online community can exist without it.After thoroughly unpacking the issues with Instagram and proposing a few alternate solutions, the conversation then shifts to some of the latest new watch releases and reviews to hit the site this past week. Up first is the Tag Heuer Carrera Red Dial Limited Edition within the context of non-traditional dial colors and the value that they offer within someone's collection. Next is a discussion surrounding the relative value of watches such as the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda GT Chronograph and the Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris Perpetual Calendar, before the trio gets into the new colorful Christopher Ward C63 Sealander watches, and whether or not the industry is now over-saturated with bright dial colors. Lastly, Ariel is still looking for someone to fill the role as his personal assistant, and rounding out this episode is a quick discussion of some of the various applications he has received since recently reposting the job listing. Each week the editors of the timepiece-centric publication aBlogtoWatch.com sit down to discuss some of the latest new releases and hottest industry stories from in the aBlogtoWatch Weekly news podcast program. Peter Speake and Daniela Marin join us for Keeping Time with Oster Watches Podcast, S5 Episode 7. In this episode of Keeping Time we are privileged to welcome Daniela Marin, co-founder of one of the most important horological websites, The Naked Watchmaker.  Joining Daniela is Peter Speake, one of the most celebrated watchmakers in the industry (known of course for Speake-Marin watches) and co-founder of The Naked Watchmaker with Daniela. This will be Peter's 3rd episode of Keeping Time - having last joined us back on Episode #31 (June 2018).  At that time, The Naked Watchmaker was just starting out. Now, the website is firmly established as a go-to forum for genuine knowledge ranging from deconstruction of well-known modern and important historical calibres to in-depth and thought-provoking articles covering centuries of watchmaking and innovation within the industry. The latest edition is a series of online "Masterclasses" that are designed to provide enthusiasts of all levels of knowledge with the tools to better understand horology. Listen in as we chat at length about numerous fascinating subjects ranging from the new Masterclass to the opportunity to deconstruct an early Breguet 4-minute Tourbillon (c.1805). The conversation is unscripted and wanders to the curious as host, Jeremy Oster,  challenges Daniela and Peter with questions that could only be answered by a select few in the world with the hands-on knowledge gained through many decades exploring the fine art of horology. There will be plenty to learn for everyone, from new enthusiasts to the most seasoned collectors. Doug also gets in on the action as he eagerly chats about the newly released Masterclass (recently completed by Doug). We trust that you will enjoy listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed the conversation with Daniela and Peter. As usual, this episode is a free-flowing conversation with minimal editing. Jeremy Oster is your host along with co-host, Doug Hoyt.  Thanks as always to Doug who is also the Producer of Keeping Time Podcast. This podcast is all about the personalities in the industry and the passion that drives the creativity and desirability of the beautiful products that we all appreciate.
