LINDA LIGHTON is an artist and activist living and working in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a passionate advocate for the arts both regionally, nationally and internationally, and she is committed to being creatively prolific and politically engaged on a daily basis. Lighton has had more than 80 solo shows and has participated in more than 230 group exhibitions at museums and galleries in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Linda Lighton's work is in national and international collections in China, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan and Turkey as well as The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO; Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO; Spencer Museum of Art, Lawrence, KS; Ariana Museum, Geneva, Switzerland; Fule International Ceramic Museum, Fuping, China, the Yingee Museum in Taiwan, and Icheon International Ceramic Museum, Icheon, Korea. Linda Lighton is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics. She is the founder and director of the Lighton International Artists Exchange Program, which has sent over 207 artists to 59 countries and the Arctic Circle. In 2008, she was chosen for the Missouri Arts Award, and in 2011 she received the Award for Excellence in the Visual Arts and Education from the Kansas City Art Institute, where she graduated with honors in 1989. In 2016, Lighton received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the National Council for the Education of the Ceramic Arts. She is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics. Recently, Lighton completed two large commissions. The first, a 1% for the Arts program, involved producing a twenty-foot-long mural titled "Ode to the Tallgrass Prairie" for the new Kansas City International Airport. The second was a large chandelier titled "Luminous," installed in the Grand Salon at the Kansas City Museum. Lighton is a fervent arts advocate and activist. She has worked on many boards in her community; helping to instigate the One Percent for Arts Program in Kansas City, and serving on numerous boards over the years: Young Audiences of Kansas City, Friends of Art, Nelson Atkins Museum, Review Magazine, Kansas City Ballet, and National Council for the Education of the Ceramic Arts, Kansas City Jewish Museum Board. She currently serves on the National Committee at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and administers the Lighton International Artists Exchange Program. His creative journey spans painting, piano, music composition, stand up comedy and theatre. As a member of the comedy group “Bartalk” in the 80's and 90's he had to opportunity to work with such people as Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Dana Carvey, Bobcat Goldthwaite, Kevin Pollak, Mark Pitta and many others. Bartalk performed in famous comedy clubs such as The Punchline, The Boarding House, The Holy City Zoo, Cobbs Comedy Pub and Tommy T's. In theatre, Jeff has acted in and directed well over a 100 plays and musicals and in the 90's was artistic director and founder of the New Earth Theatre, the San Leandro Community Theatre (now San Leandro Players) and the San Leandro Shakespeare Festival in the San Francisco Bay Area. These theatre groups were used as a vehicle to raise money for the San Leandro Public Library foundation and through the years raised well off 100K dollars. Jeff's original show “The Angel of the Gutter” was performed off-Broadway in New York in 2000 at the Creative Place Theatre. He recently directed “Bullshot Crummond” at The Roaring 20 Gallery and Event space in Westport. Jeff is also an avid pianist and composer and has written the score to George Bernard Shaw's “Androcles and the Lion”. Now based in Kansas City, painting remains his deepest passion and has been a constant in his life since his youth. He is the Artist in Residence at the newly opened “Elevator” in North Kansas City. He is currently showing at 80 Santa Fe Gallery in Overland Park as part of their “Color” exhibit. “Color” runs through March 15, 2026. He will be featured at Mod Gallery in Kansas City in September and has a solo exhibition at Elevator, currently in the works slated for a May/June showing (dates haven't been finalized as of this writing). Mūžīgs stāsts – kaislības, greizsirdība un neuzticība. Abi iestudējumi ir 19. gadsimta itāļu operas, spilgti verisma piemēri. Mārtiņa Ozoliņa muzikālajā vadībā un Aika Karapetjana režijā „Zemnieka gods” piedzīvos pirmizrādi, savukārt „Pajaci”  ir 2019. gada iestudējuma atjaunojums. Radošajā komandā arī scenogrāfs un gaismu mākslinieks AJ Vaisbārds, kostīmu māksliniece Kristīne Pasternaka, horeogrāfe Liene Grava un videomākslinieks Artis Dzērve.

Viņš sevi jau vairākkārt teātrī pierādījis, nupat kā tapusi monoizrāde „Sākums” par šaubām un pārdomām, kas piepilda viņa prātu, un iespējams, tas ir aktuāli arī citiem jauniem cilvēkiem. Radošājā telpā “Kurtuve”, Valmierā, Kristaps uz skatuves stājas viens. Viņam apkārt nav spilgtu dekorāciju, tikai uz skatuves ar līmlentu novilkta strīpa. Viņš šajā telpā ir viens ar savu stāstījumu skatītājiem, kas kaut kādā ziņā atgādina komiķu šovus, stāvizrādes. Tikai šoreiz joki ir par aktieri un pasauli viņam apkārt. Šī ir Kristapa Kristera pirmā monoizrāde, līdz ar to jāiepazīst skatuve vienam. Un arī kļūdas jāuzņemas pašam. Uz skatuves nav kolēģu, ar kuriem šo sajūtu dalīt. Izrādes pamatā ir Justa Terteļa luga, kas pielāgota mūsdienām un pašam aktierim. Lai palīdzētu aktierim Kristapam Kristeram Ozolam mesties jaunos izaicinājumos, atbalstu sniedzis gan aktiera kādreizējais pedagogs, režisors Elmārs Seņkovs, kuram šis ir jau 60. iestudējums. Režisors uzskata, ka izrāde parāda ne tikai mīlestību pret aktierspēli, bet arī šīs profesijas skaudro dabu. Savukārt Valmieras teātra aktieris Aksels Aizkalns šajā izrādē bija režisora asistents. Zīmīgi, ka viņš ir aŗi Kristapa teātra krusttēvs. -- Kristaps Kristers Ozols līdz šim sevi pierādījis diplomdarbu izrādēs – “Kristāla bērni”, “Sapņotāji”, “Nevienam nezināmā Marija”, “Santakrusa” un citās. Spēlējis iestudējumos Latvijas Nacionālajā teātrī “Nacionālais kanāls” un “Smilšu cilvēks”. Valmieras teātrī spēlējis Skangala kungu un laupītāju Oto izrādē "Mazais cilvēks" un Janku izrādē “Ļaunais gars”.

I patrzcie. Natura pokryła nasz kraj panierką ze śniegu. Przysmażyła mrozem. W telewizyjnych stacjach informacyjnych trwały bezpośrednie transmisje ze śniegu i z mrozu. Reporterzy stojąc po kostki w śniegu donosili radośnie sensacyjnym tonem o Argamedonie. Radośnie bo było o czym mówić, a nie tylko o porwaniach prezydentów czy Ziobrze. Kierowcy co prawda narzekają, ale nikt im nie kazał kupować samochodów. To były indywidualne decyzje. Spora sensacja w sumie, że w styczniu tyle śniegu napadało i chwycił spory mróz. Bardziej czekalibyśmy w styczniu na listki na drzewach i kwiatuszki Co se będziemy żałować z listkami tak malowniczo wyrastających z łodyżek. Starsi z nas mówią: a taka zima, dawniej to były zimy. Śniegi to były śniegi, a mrozy były mrozami. Pamiętam taką zimę, że było tak zimno, że mróz pukał do drzwi i prosił, żeby go wpuścić, bo chce się ogrzać. Jak za szkołą paliliśmy papierosy, to dym zamarzał...

S Slovenijo in z Ljubljano ga vežejo po prvih eksperimentalnih nastopih in po prvem, nekajmesečnem angažmaju v Mariboru, le tri kratka obdobja rednega dela v ljubljanski Drami: mladostna gledališka leta, prva sezona v času okupacije in prvi dve po osvobojditvi, ko je bil leto dni tudi ravnatelj osrednjega slovenskega gledališča, med drugim zapiše Dušan Moravec, že med vojno pa je izdelal tudi načrt za prenovo in dozidavo gledališke stavbe. Po drugi svetovni vojni je sodeloval pri oblikovanju Akademije za igralsko umetnost in na njej predaval osnove dramske igre in režije. Poučeval je tudi na gledaliških akademijah v Beogradu in Zagrebu. O delu Bojana Stupice, ki je bil v celoti gledališki človek, saj je bil v mariborski in ljubljanski Drami pred vojno angažiran kot igralec, režiser in scenograf, v slovenskih gledališčih, kot ga je teatrološko in zgodovinsko popisal Dušan Moravec, se bomo posvetili v dveh zaporednih oddajah. Grāmata "Dzīvais cimds" turpina pētīt un atklāt Jettes Užānes (1924-2007) daiļradi. Cēsu muzejā viņas simtgadei veltītā izstāde "Dzīvais cimds" parādīja gan cimdu adīšanas mākslu, kur tradicionālais un radošais uzbūra 20. gadsimta Latvijas kultūras pulsu. Tagad ar tādu pašu nosaukumu lasītāju rokās nonāk grāmata. Tajā apkopoti līdz šim nepublicēti Jettes Užānes cimdu stāsti, tehniskie zīmējumi un fotogrāfijas. Kultūras rondo sarunājamies ar grāmatas autori Elīnu Apsīti un horeogrāfi Liliju Liporu, kura izveidojusi dokumentālu kustību eseju "Kā man gribas iet", kas balstīta Cimdu Jettiņas dzīvesstāstā un dienasgrāmatas piezīmēs. It's a space where rhythm meets reflection, and Naturalisten rises fully to the occasion. Diese Freiheit, die man im Gefängnis verlernt. Diese Freiheit, die man wieder lernen muss. Wie schwimmen lernen. Irgendwann klappt's. Wer das Hörspiel am Radio hören will: Freitag, 24.10.2025, 20.00 Uhr, Radio SRF 1 Ein fiktives Gefängnis, irgendwo in der Schweiz. Schliessen sich die Türen, gelten neue Regeln. Es gibt neue Ängste. Muss man sich anders organisieren. Das Warten auf den nächsten Besuch, den nächsten Brief, das nächste Telefonat. Kein Zugriff auf Internet und Handy. Das Gefühl zu haben, das Leben zieht draussen an einem vorbei und man sitzt drinnen und bekommt nichts mehr mit. Diese Hilflosigkeit, diese Wut, diese Einsamkeit. Und die Angst vor dem, was nach der Haft kommt. Beginnt die eigentliche Strafe der Gesellschaft erst nach der Entlassung? Bei der Job- oder Wohnungssuche? Autorin Sabina Altermatt hat als Lehrerin für Deutsch in mehreren Schweizer Justizvollzugsanstalten gearbeitet und die Vorlage zu dieser Serie zusammen mit einem Insassen verfasst. Ergänzt wird der Doku-Fiction-Text mit Passagen aus Interviews, welche Sabina Altermatt und Regisseurin Karin Berri mit Insassen führen konnten. Diese Ausschnitte werden als Originaltöne im Hörspiel verwendet. Der Titel «Schwimmen lernen» beruht auf einer Aussage von Andreas Nägeli, dem Direktor der Justizvollzugsanstalt Pöschwies. Auf die Frage, ob es im Gefängnis möglich sei, die Leute auf das Leben danach vorzubereiten, meinte er, das sei wie «schwimmen lernen in einem Becken ohne Wasser». Es bleibt: Die Hoffnung. Hinter den Mauern und ausserhalb der Mauern. Denn schwimmen kann man tatsächlich lernen. Es braucht Übung. Aber irgendwann klappt's. Originally from Michigan, he began creating art in early adolescence as a way to process trauma and make sense of chaos within his home life. After spending years in Nashville's music industry, he shifted his focus to painting in 2014, finding in visual art a more honest and immediate form of emotional expression.His signature works are often painted on red velvet and feature somber color palettes, bold gestures, and layered textures that invite deep introspection. Rado intentionally chooses materials that challenge artistic conventions, using them to confront ideas about value, imperfection, and personal truth. He views the creative process as a dialogue with emotion, allowing his work to emerge from a space of vulnerability rather than control. In addition to his studio practice, Rado is the founder and curator of Rock Wall Gallery, a space dedicated to showcasing raw and emotionally resonant art. He also leads therapeutic workshops that blend creative expression with ontological coaching, guiding others toward self-awareness and healing through the act of making. Living with Tourette's Syndrome, he openly shares how the condition influences his perspective, embracing it as an essential part of his identity and artistic voice.
