The Midwest Pixel Pros crew is off for the extended Thanksgiving weekend, so in its place is a collection of specially curated picks of the gang's favorite discussion segments from over the past year of shows! This covers all kinds of topics from our favorite memories of the Super Nintendo, looking back at gaming with our parents, flashbacks of actual good educational games, our favorite gaming snacks, and both parts of our dramatic reading of the screenplay, “Time Knife”! Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving from Grand Forks Best Source!!! Show is recorded at Grand Forks Best Source Studios. The Pixel The Pixel Pros continue where they left off last episode by picking up their save file from the Super Mario Bros 3 remake on Super Mario All-Stars on the Switch. Save states will once again be exploited! We also have part two of our “dramatic theater reading” of part two of “Bruce Livingston”'s screenplay, “Time Knife” performed as it was originally written tucked inside an email collectible from the Remedy-developed video game, Quantum Break! Show is recorded at Grand Forks Best Source Studios. The Pixel The Pixel Pros felt they gave short shrift to the legendary Super Mario Bros 3 and refire it up the Super Mario All-Stars version on the Switch and exploit its save state feature to make all-new progress! This week's discussion segment is giving proper recognition to one of gaming's best kept secrets with a dramatic reading of the script, “Time Knife,” hidden as a lost email from the Remedy game, Quantum Break! Show is recorded at Grand Forks Best Source Studios. As we continue with Cursed Child we're getting all up in the weeds of double-back time-travel and facing the important questions. Questions like: “is the Scorpius/Snape scene in fact wonderful or terrible?”, “does Kinko's still exist?”, and “didn't this happen in the Lion King?”. Plus, Kevin misunderstands the Cedric dog transfiguration, a lot of Good Place references, and Flaming Hot Cheetos. My son had to make a big decision. It didn't go well. So Aimée and I talk about the challenges of making decisions when you are not neurotypical. It involves everyone's favorite show, The Good Place, and also the aforementioned Time Knife, but also laughter and compassion and hopefully some good advice. Transcript.
The gang gets edgy, medical procedures that went away for good reason, and a firsthand encounter with the Time Knife.

Monica is joined by comedian and author Sam Tallent (JFL, Running the Light) as he shares another tremendous amount of work that was one of the least thought out ideas ever. He wrote 200 pages of a screenplay called Time Knife. Throwing knives through time and killing the dreams of anyone who read it. Don't worry, he lost the laptop in a breakup so at least there is no ending. It's a great episode, read Sam's book, "Running the Light," and follow him @SamTallent

This is such a good episode! We created a Time Knife designed around a morning wake n bake routine. If you've never witnessed the greatness of Chidi and his realization in "The Good Place" you're missing out (pssst its on Netflix). The reddit segment features a wholesome story about a mispronunciation of mashed potatoes which leads me to tell the squad about how my sister called french toast sticks "french hoe sticks" when she was a toddler. The Tarot Card segment for this episode centers around the "8 of wands" which incites everyone to go with the flow of momentum as everything seems to move at a fast pace around you. Brookie Boombox's new business venture gets revealed as we speed closer to Crescent and Key's cutting of the tape. Baby witches and fully grown witches come to us! We analyze Billie Eilish's "Xanny" which is a powerful song with hard hitting lyrics. And we finish this episode with the "Give Less Fucks" segment that reminds us to give real advice to one another. "Much of the advice out there operates at a shallow level of simply trying to make people feel good in the short term, while the long term problems never get solved." Mark Manson knows how to bring the house down with hard truths, and we know how to bring them to the forefront. Enjoy!
