Johnny Mac covers comedy news including Netflix developing Grown Ups 3 with a script by Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihy and expected returns from David Spade, Rob Schneider, Kevin James and Chris Rock, with a Europe trip plot involving spreading a deceased friend's ashes. He mentions the visual-heavy trailer for Will Ferrell's golf comedy series The Hawk, Nick Kroll's new series A Hundred Percent with Sam Richardson, Jason Mantzoukas and Vanessa Bayer, and Wanda Sykes' Netflix special Legacy. Netflix also signed Mike Epps for two more specials after Delusional's strong performance. 1311. On Prophecy Radio episode #148, Karen and Kristen discuss Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, episode 2, “Demon Pigeons Attack.” They skip the news this time (since they just recorded the day before) and recap all the most interesting behind-the-scenes facts from the Official Percy Jackson Podcast. New episodes of Prophecy Radio air every other week. All discussions are PG-13. Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, episode 2 discussion (00:02:59) This is the long-awaited chariot race episode! The Stymphalian birds are super creepy looking. Percy's superpower is water and also breaking the rules. Annabeth is so smart and sneaky! Chiron's musical choices are perfect and we wouldn't change a thing. Clarisse's idea of flirting is…aggressive. How do we feel about the new Chris Rodriguez? Should Annabeth and Percy have kept the coordinates to themselves? Chiron warns Annabeth of the Great Prophecy. How do we feel about the line, “He can't know there's something he can't know”? Boon. Tyson is so sweet to write home to Sally. We love how they're portraying Tyson as an innocent but intelligent person. The mimicry is…unnerving. We love Timothy Simons and Jason Mantzoukas playing opposite each other. Will we see Bondi again down the line? We love everything about the chariot race. Tantalus screaming bloody murder almost took us out. Mariah Carey was the perfect song choice, and Percy holding the stereo was classic. Do you know what's on Mr. D's shirt? Did Tantalus share the wrong coordinates on purpose or is he just an idiot? Was it just us or did Clarisse not seem too excited about her quest? It didn't take much convincing for Clarisse to pick Annabeth. But, oh, the betrayal!! WE FINALLY GET THE WEDDING DRESS. The interplay between these two characters is so natural. Percy is not asking for permission. Is anyone surprised? Quest approved! We're really coming around to Lin as Hermes. He cares about his son so much, even if he's been an absent father this whole time. Percy reasoned out why Annabeth would betray him, and they have a really deep conversation. Did Percy really leave the Camp border? Is the fact that they can never return in the books?? We talk about who Danny Virtue is. Next time on Percy Jackson and the Olympians… Percy Jackson and the Olympians Official Podcast highlights (01:07:20) There was SO MUCH awesome behind-the-scenes information in this episode. Of course, one of the first things they talk about is the dress. Tim's kids are big fans of the series. The dynamic between Tantalus and Mr. D is super interesting. It must be so fun being an adult on a show like this where you just get to be silly. Did you know the whole story behind Mrs. Dodds? Tantalus looks so different from everyone else because he's from the Underworld. They spend a lot of time talking about the chariot race scene, and it is AWESOME. How cool is it that the kids got to work with Danny Virtue? Aryan had to teach someone else how to goat walk this season. We learn more about how Lin came to be Hermes. If given another chance, Tantalus would totally monologue again. Tyson is now Percy's most loyal friend… Thanks for listening, and tune in next time for episode 149, where we'll recap Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, episode 3, as well as the next episode of the Official Percy Jackson Podcast. This episode's hosts are: Karen and Kristen Each episode, Prophecy Radio‘s hosts will discuss any official news coming out of Camp Half-Blood before doing a chapter by chapter reread of Percy Jackson or one of Rick Riordan's other series. RHLSTP #589 - Dopplegängr - It's Richard's last show of the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe, but what is the Edinburgh Fringe? Luckily Liam Gallagher knows. Richard's guest is not in Oasis and is unlikely to support them after this, it's the loquacious (thank goodness for Rich) Nish Kumar. They chat about at what point you have to stop claiming to be working class, how Nish survived his tour of America unscathed and the positives he took from the experience, why both sides-ism is an unhelpful concept, how even Nish's grandma thinks he might be Jason Mantzoukas, why Taskmaster is didn't too badly when it comes to diversity, but how being in a comedy gang can be a big help in maintaining the necessary quality for a career and has Nish been in a canoe? Six segments. Four legendary movie podcasters. Three and a half hours of keeping David Sims away from his family. Welcome to our Ballad of Buster Scruggs episode! How Did This Get Made's Paul Scheer and Jason Mantzoukas join the Two Friends to talk about the Coens' final film together (as of this recording), a grab bag of western vignettes that could have been titled “A Million Ways to Die in the West” if Seth MacFarlane hadn't already claimed it. Actor and comedian Jason Mantzoukas is known for playing characters that are overzealous, exuberant, and more than a little wacky. But these characters are the exact opposite of how Jason felt growing up — like a “boy made of glass.” Jason has a life-threatening allergy to eggs, and that constant threat has forced him to live a life of vigilance. Dan and Jason talk about how that's affected Jason's comedy. They also get into New England roast beef sandwiches, food grievances — and to top it off, Dan comes up with a way for Jason to take a break from the allergy. This episode originally aired on April 25, 2022, and was produced by Dan Pashman, Emma Morgenstern, Andres O'Hara, Johanna Mayer, Tracey Samuelson, and Jared O'Connell, with editing help from Fernanda Aguero. The Sporkful team now includes Dan Pashman, Emma Morgenstern, Andres O'Hara, Kameel Stanley, and Jared O'Connell. This update was produced by Gianna Palmer.
