On this episode of the "House of Hockey" Podcast, Rae and her guest co-host Alma Laura, dive deep into the latest NHL news, PWHL news and share candid opinions on the hottest topics in the hockey world. Alma is a previous guest of the podcast, friend and fan of the LA Kings and Timo Meier. They dive deep into the whirlwind of emotions and surprises that unfolded during the NHL Trade Deadline frenzy as the spotlight is on the Vegas Golden Knights who acquired Tomas Hertl, Noah Hanifin, and Anthony Mantha. The Carolina Hurricanes receive some heavy hitters as Jake Guentzel leaves the Pittsburgh Penguins and Evgeny Kuznetsov of the Washington Capitals joins the ranks. Both Cup champions, their impact is bound to shake things up and their dynasty in Pittsburgh may be coming to an end. And what about the Winnipeg Jets snagging Tyler Toffoli, Colin Miller, and Sean Monahan? The Panthers aren't left out either, with Vladimir Tarasenko and Kyle Okposo making moves. But is a trade deadline deal worth a first-round pick? The ladies weigh the pros and cons. Plus, they ponder over Lou Lamoriello's four-year silence on deadline day deals for the New York Islanders. They also explore some of the weird happenings around the trade deadline. From games scheduled on deadline day to the awkward situation former Avs player Bo Byram faced. Shifting gears, to women's hockey, from the PWHL to Rae's firsthand experience at the NY vs. Boston game where she finally got a puck from a player during warm ups. And in a delightful twist, Kendall Coyne-Schofield lends her voice to a character in Disney & Pixar's *Inside Out 2*, playing a female hockey player. We wrap up with a roundup of social media highlights, including the exciting collaboration between the Anaheim Ducks and Vans Shoes. Finally, it's time for our favorite segment – Hunk of the Week! Garage punk two piece Teen Mortgage climbed out of Washington DC's primordial hardcore soup in 2017. Drenched in the left - over fuzz and sludge of their local scene, the duo quickly bulldozed their way to a regional reputation after assaulting the publics' ears on incessant east coast tours and opening for notable bands such as Ron Gallo, Surf Curse, Big Business, Alex Lahey, The Chats, Bass Drum of Death, JEFF The Brotherhood, Mike Krol, The Coathangers, Meatbodies etc. In June 2019, Teen Mortgage sicced their ruthless EP "Life/Death" on the world through Brooklyn, NY's King Pizza Records. It has since sold out its limited cassette run and album cuts have earned sync deals with Vans Shoes, Evil Bikes, and Showtime series Shameless. The album also gained recognition as recipients of multiple 2020 Wammies (The Washington Area Music Awards) for Best Punk Band and Best Punk Song for "Falling Down." Teen Mortgage, return post pandemic with “Smoked”, their sophomore release through greasy Brooklyn cassette slingers, King Pizza Records. Once again, the duo are back to smack you over the head with seething surf punk riffs setting the scene to explain this cultural wasteland they call America. Live performances by Teen Mortgage, digital beat bumpers provided by Fat Kneel

Tap into eons of knowledge and experiences, condensed into digestible portions. Highly, highly recommend. “Uniquely outstanding. No fluff and all substance. David does an outstanding job summarizing these biographies and hones in on the elements that make his subjects so unique among entrepreneurs. I particularly enjoy that he focuses on both the founder's positive and negative characteristics as a way of highlighting things to mimic and avoid.”“I just paid for my first premium podcast subscription for Founders podcast. Learning from those who came before us is one of the highest value ways to invest time. David does his homework and exponentially improves my efficiency by focusing on the most valuable lessons.”“I haven't found a better return on my time and money than your podcast for inspiration and time-tested wisdom to help me on my journey.“I've now listened to every episode. From this knowledge I've doubled my business to $500k a year. David is a craftsperson, he carefully reads biographies of founders, distills the most important anecdotes and themes from their life, and draws commonalities across lives. David's focus is rightfully not on teaching you a formula to succeed but on constantly pushing you to think different.”“I highly highly recommend this podcast. Holy cow. I've been binge listening to these and you start to see patterns across all these incredible humans.”Listening to your podcast has changed my life and that is not a statement I make often.“After one episode I quickly joined the Misfit feed. Love the insight and thoughts shared along the way. David loves what he does and it shines through on the podcast. Definitely my go-to podcast now.”“It is worth every penny. I cannot put into words how fantastic this podcast is. Just stop reading this and get the full access.”“Personally it's one of my top 3 favorite podcasts. If you're into business and startups and technology, this is for you. David covers good books and I've come to really appreciate his perspective. Can't say enough good things.”“I quickly subscribed and it's honestly been the best money I've spent all year. It has inspired me to read biographies. Highly recommend.”“This is the most inspirational and best business podcast out there. David has inspired me to focus on biographies rather than general business books. I'm addicted.”“Anyone interested in business must find the time to listen to each any every Founders podcast. A high return on investment will be a virtual certainty. On this episode I chat with legend pro skateboarder Tony Hawk. Me and Tony have been friends for a very long time, we have traveled the world together, and I think Tony is one of the raddest dudes ever. Why? Because he is constantly challenging himself and using his success and fame in skateboarding to help other people in need. So on this episode we chat about him currently signing on with Vans Shoes and the plans they have together for the near future, also we talk about his foundation the 'Tony Hawk Foundation' and how they have helped 1000 skateparks get made. Plus how he got started in skateboarding, what it's like to raise kids being a pro skateboarder, and some stories of some shows and tours we both did together in the past. Tony is a perfect example of staying rad and shredding in life, so listen now to how he lives a healthy PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) lifestyle and his approach on continually accomplishing his dreams. Stay Rad. @rickthorne @goodguysinblack @therickthorneshow
It's episode 42! In this episode we revisit the beautiful (apparently) educational game, Oregon Trail. What is actually fun? Could you even survive and win? Why did Canadians all play a game about Oregon? We discuss this classic game as well as how Old Skool Vans are the new white Keds, VSCO girls, Anti-Bullying Day, the origins of horsepower, Bison skull piles, modern technology in ancient civilizations, and what we would choose as our last meal.

Second hour's thoughts on fear ft. Tya Myrick and our sponsor, Vans Shoes.
OMG, I'm back! Is anyone still out there? *crickets* Um, maybe not. Anyway, it's really good to be back, finally. I've had tons of Big Life Stuff pod-blocking me all year, but I think I'm now in a good place to get back aboard the good-ship Terminus. Admittedly I was a bit under the weather recording the episode, but I was just so determined to get a new episode done and dusted, I went forward with it anyway. Let it be known that many coughs were valiantly sacrificed on the cutting floor, though. So, that was definitely a challenge! Well, that and trying not to slip up and say 'Chinballs' instead of Chibnall, because REASONS. Anyway, join me on this episode as I talk about my humble little podcast's plans for the year and then also my thoughts about the new companion (as)Bill, the 2017 Doctor Who television hiatus, Steven Moffat leaving as showrunner, and finally Chris Chibnall coming on board as showrunner in his stead. I hope you all will join me and, as always, glad to have you all aboard. Enjoy the ride!
