In what I can only describe as a fantastic but slightly chaotic podcast episode it was great to be joined by 2x Symetra Tour winner, Former LPGA Tour player, 2016 Olympian for Mexico & current LET Access Series pro Alejandra Llaneza who phoned in from Madrid after competing in Santander Golf Tour event in preparation for getting her LET Access Series season for 2026 up and running this week in Czechia after finishing last season in the top 25 in the order of Merit standings which included a win at Santander Golf Tour Avila. Ale is from the beautiful city of Mexico City and began the game at 6 years old before winning the first of her 7 Mexican Junior Championships at the age of 11. Ale would go to University of Arizona and would win Rookie of the Year for 2007-08 season before winning on Cactus Tour in 2011 as an amateur then turning pro in 2012. There has been many pro highlights from Llaneza as she comes into her 14th season on tour as a pro with milestones such as winning Silver Medal at 2014 Central American & Caribbean Games in Veracruz, finishing 4th at 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, winning twice on Symetra Tour at 2015 Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Charity Classic & 2019 Garden City Charity Classic, competing on LPGA Tour for 4 years between 2013-17. Also playing in 5 Major Championship events at 3x KMPG PGA Championships, 1x US Women's Open & 1x Evian Championship but nothing I'm sure will compare to the sense of pride of being selected in 2016 to represent Mexico at Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro a truly memorable experience for Ale. Come for the great career journey and stay for the Fruity Taco, dancing to the Macarena & Tequila chat. Not laughed so much in an episode in a long long time Ale was an iconic guest and can't thank her enough! Download via Podbean, Apple Podcasts & Spotify, also on YouTube.

When people talk about democracy in America, we often focus on elections… on candidates… on the latest headlines coming out of Washington. But the deeper question—the one that shapes everything—is this: Who actually holds power in our society? Is it the people? Is it our communities? Or is it wealth… concentrated power… and institutions that were never designed to answer to ordinary citizens? Today's episode is all about movement building. Not the kind of movement-building calling for protests or boycotts. Not the kind of movement building that fades when yet another crisis emerges …But the kind of movement building that reshapes the legal and political foundations of our society. The Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund, or CELDF, has been at the forefront of a remarkable experiment in democracy. An experiment that asks a simple but radical question: What if communities had the legal authority to defend their own environment… their own health… and their own future?Ben Price serves as the National Education Director at CELDF, where he has spent more than two decades helping communities organize, learn, and take action. He has mentored local leaders across the country as they developed ordinances asserting community rights and the legal rights of ecosystems. His book, How Wealth Rules the World: Saving Our Communities and Freedoms from the Dictatorship of Property, examines how modern law has evolved to prioritize property and wealth over democracy and community self-government. The book earned the Independent Publishing Award's Silver Medal in Finance, Investment, and Economics, and it has sparked important conversations about the relationship between law, economics, and democratic power. What makes Ben's work especially important for our conversation today is that he doesn't just analyze problems. He works directly with communities trying to solve them. Communities asking: How do we organize? How do we build durable movements? How do ordinary people reclaim authority over decisions that affect their land, water, and future? And perhaps most importantly, how do we build movements that are strong enough to challenge systems that have been in place for generations? These are exactly the kinds of questions we need to explore if we are serious about creating a more democratic constitutional order in America.Constitutions don't change simply because people write some ideas down on a piece of paper. They change when movements emerge that are powerful enough to demand something better for everyone. Ben Price has spent years helping communities wrestle with the practical realities of movement building—what works, what doesn't, and what it really takes to transform political power from the ground up.Today, we're going to talk about organizing… democracy… and the long road toward structural change. Ben, welcome to the Peaceful Political Revolution in America podcast.LINKS:https://celdf.org/https://celdf.org/resources/multimedia/https://celdf.org/resources/blog/https://celdf.substack.com/

All Home Care Matters and our host, Lance A. Slatton were honored to welcome Ann Campanella as guest to the show. Ann Campanella is a former magazine and newspaper editor and is the author of three memoirs and four collections of poetry. Her award-winning writing has appeared in newspapers, magazines, literary journals and online sites across the country and around the world. Her first memoir, Motherhood: Lost and Found, was named "One of the best Alzheimer's books of all time" by BookAuthority two years in a row. Since 2017, Ann has been a manager/director of AlzAuthors.com, a nonprofit organization with the mission of sharing Alzheimer's and dementia resources to light the way for others. In 2018, she was recognized by her hometown newspaper as one of the Most Influential Women in her community for her work promoting Alzheimer's awareness. Ann's second memoir, Celiac Mom, won the 2024 Silver Medal in the Nonfiction/Health category of the Readers' Favorite International Book Award. This book has become a "go-to" resource for the celiac community. A social-media influencer, Ann uses her Instagram account @glutenfreeforgood to spread awareness about this condition. Ann's most recent book, The Shoulder Season: A Memoir of Fracture and Grace, shares her experience of going from a caregiver to someone who needed care after a serious injury. Ann hopes it will provide hope and inspiration to those facing a season of health challenges. Ann and her husband live on Lake Norman in North Carolina and enjoy nightly sunsets. About "The Shoulder Season": After decades of being physically fit, riding and training horses, Ann's life skids to a stop when a seemingly innocuous accident (tripping over the dog) turns into a traumatic injury that shrinks her world. She succumbs to severe pain and faces difficult surgeries that require a two-year recovery. On the brink of an empty nest, a few months before the pandemic, Ann is no longer the busy caregiver who juggles her family's needs along with her writing work and caring for her farm but becomes the person who needs care. Ann must discover a new identity and reimagine her future. The Shoulder Season serves as a guide and an inspiration for those facing a life interrupted.

A fair, humane, and orderly immigration system should think of the US as the top destination for top talent from around the world, as well as a beacon of hope. Today on the SwimSwam Podcast we have Jeff Pease, a name that has been synonymous with San Diego swimming for over 40 years. Jeff is the founder, head coach, and team owner of North Coast Aquatics (NCA), one of the first coach-owned swim clubs in the United States, established back in 1979. What started as a bold idea has grown into the premier program in San Diego, consistently earning Gold and Silver Medal status from USA Swimming.
After being diagnosed with Osteosarcoma when she was 10 years old in 2012 Bailey Moody decided that despite what some were saying, her budding athletic career was not over. Since that time, Bailey has been a member of the Women's Wheelchair Basketball National Team since 2018 as a 16 year old, winning World Championships in 2019 and 2023, a two time Paralympian, winning a Bronze Medal in Tokyo in 2021 and a Silver Medal in Paris in 2024, winning 5 National Collegiate Championships from 2021 to 2015 at the University of Alabama, Winning the Finals MVP award after her 30 point effort in the final game of 2025, and being named an Academic All American from 2021 through 2025.
It's not unreasonable to say that no one could've predicted this podium. That's not to say that Isaac Nader, Jake Wightman, and Reynold Cheruiyot aren't all medal-worthy contenders in their own rights, just that the series of circumstances that had to stack on top of one another to make this particular outcome happen was highly improbable.Without Jakob Ingebrigtsen to assume the role of pacemaker, the field hit 400 meters in a relatively pedestrian 59.45, and each successive second that the tempo lagged injected a little extra variability into the last lap. No one saw Kerr's untimely calf injury coming: the Scotsman is remarkably consistent in global finals, with his lowest finish of the decade being sixth in 2022. And heading into the last lap, one measly second separated the top 12 contenders.Nader and Wightman are both known for their footspeed, and the race was set up perfectly for them to take advantage. In particular, Wightman has looked like a rejuvenated runner throughout these championships after missing the last two British teams with injuries and changing coaches in 2024. Nader won the Oslo Dream Mile earlier this season and has finished near the front of a few other Diamond Leagues, but this was still only the second global final of his career and doesn't have the shiny PBs of some of his competitors. But that didn't matter on the homestretch, when Niels Laros looked vulnerable for the first time in months, eventually fading to fifth, and Nader swung into lane three for the first time after riding the rail to power past both Cheruiyots and nip Wightman at the line by 0.02 seconds. Even though this is an event where fans often feel passionately about their favorite athlete, we can all appreciate the fact that, when the dust settled, the crazy ride was fun for everyone.____________Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on InstagramGuest: Jake Wightman | @jakeswightman on InstagramProduced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr on Instagram____________PRESENTED BY ASICSFor the third consecutive year, CITIUS MAG is proud to partner with ASICS for our global championship coverage.
