News: It is that time of the year to start planning for the Halloween season at Disneyland. Next week, Oogie Boogie Bash tickets go on sale. This is a competetive event to get tickets for, so be sure to get in early and pick your dates. Inspire Magic Key holders can get tickets starting on June 24th no earlier then 9am Disneyland time, with all other Magic Key holders having an opportunity starting June 25th. General public sales start on June 26th. Dates start even before the Halloween season on August 17th, and run through October 31st. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/2025-halloween-at-disneyland-oogie-boogie-bash-dates-and-more/ There are some other updates on the Halloween season at the resort. For 2025, Halloween Time will start on August 22nd and run through October 31st. Mickey and Minnie will get new outfits for the occasion, as usual. This time they will be a twist on the 70th costumes! Haunted Mansion Holiday is returning, along with Halloween Screams. Over in Disney California Adventure, Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween, Mater's Junkyard JamBOOree, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark are returning. Mickey's Trick and Treat is coming to the Disney Theater for the fall, replacing Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! Of course food and merchandise will be along as well. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/2025-halloween-at-disneyland-oogie-boogie-bash-dates-and-more/ With Halloween Time and Disneyland's 70th happening at the same time, you might wonder what is staying from the 70th during the spooky season. Paint the Night, World of Color – Happiness, and Tapestry of Happiness will continue to run throughout the season. Disney says “areas and attractions around the resort will retain special touches, including decorative accents and the colorful castle photo opportunity in the esplanade.” – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/2025-halloween-at-disneyland-oogie-boogie-bash-dates-and-more/ This Saturday, a few authors of Disneyland books will be at Wonderground for a book release and signing. Don Hahn and Christopher Merrit will be on hand to sign The Happiest Place on Earth: The Incredible Story of Walt Disney's Disneyland, Martha Blanding and Tim O'Day for Groundbreaking Magic: A Black Woman's Journey Through the Happiest Place on Earth, Matthew Reinhart for Disneyland Park (a Pop-Up Park Tour), and finally Bob Weis with Dream Chasing: My Four Decades of Success and Failure with Walt Disney Imagineering. The event is from 10am-11:30am. – https://www.micechat.com/417417-disneyland-update-guest-injury-expansion-blues/ A couple of construction items that we have been following at the resort have some updates. Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room has a reopening date of July 3rd! Pixie Hollow has been behind construction walls for a while now, and looks to be returning on June 29th. – https://www.micechat.com/417417-disneyland-update-guest-injury-expansion-blues/ When we were in the parks a few weeks ago, we noticed new lamp posts in front of Main Street Station, by the Mickey floral. Walls are back up in this area to install more of these lamp posts. The new lights look like gas lamps, but use regular bulbs with a mesh over them to give a vintage look. – https://www.micechat.com/417417-disneyland-update-guest-injury-expansion-blues/ We talked about the neat Magic Band touch points around Disneyland in a previous episode, but there was still one location that had not come online yet. The last point in Tomorrowland, themed to Autopia is finally online. This one is a bit of a letdown as this one only makes car noises when activated. – https://www.micechat.com/417417-disneyland-update-guest-injury-expansion-blues/ An update that came to Epcot at Walt Disney World has made its way to DCA! Soarin' Around the World has been updated to fix the skewed Eiffel Tower in the attraction. – https://www.micechat.com/417417-disneyland-update-guest-injury-expansion-blues/ Over on Pixar Pier, the new Rex meet-and-greet is available. Rex is out and looks as adorably scary (if you can say that about Rex). – https://www.micechat.com/417417-disneyland-update-guest-injury-expansion-blues/ SnackChat: Trip Food (Savory Eats Treats) Discussion Topic: Spring 2025 Disneyana Event The Happiest Place on Earth- Chris Merritt and Don Hahn – https://www.laughingplace.com/w/disney-parks/d23-live-stream-happiest-place-on-earth/

What's often missing from traditional divorce approaches is acknowledgment of the emotional landscape, communication challenges, and the complex human dynamics that determine whether a family heals or fractures during separation. The "modern divorce ecosystem" is evolving rapidly as families seek alternatives to adversarial proceedings that often leave lasting damage. Today's divorcing couples want more than just legal settlements; they're looking for guidance on effective communication, co-parenting strategies, and paths toward emotional healing. This shift reflects broader societal changes and recognition that while conflict in divorce is inevitable, destructive conflict is optional.Divorce coaches occupy a unique position in this evolving landscape. Unlike attorneys or therapists, coaches focus specifically on developing practical skills that help clients navigate both the emotional and logistical challenges of divorce. They serve as objective thinking partners who help clients manage overwhelming emotions, prepare for difficult conversations, and build the communication skills necessary for productive conflict resolution. These skills prove especially crucial for parents who must transform their relationship from intimate partners to effective co-parents—a transition that impacts not just minor children but adult children and extended family as well.Professional collaboration represents another significant trend, with family law attorneys, mediators, and mental health professionals increasingly recognizing the value divorce coaches bring to the process. Some law firms now employ in-house coaches, while many professionals are adding coaching skills to their own toolkit, finding that this approach not only better serves clients but also reduces the burnout rates common in family law practice.Ready to learn more about how divorce coaching can transform family transitions or enhance your professional practice? Aaron McIntire reports Israel's unilateral strikes on Iran's nuclear missile sites, military headquarters, and officials, escalating tensions without public U.S. backing, despite President Trump's push for a diplomatic nuclear deal. Secretary of State Marco Rubio clarifies the U.S. is not involved but was informed by Israel, emphasizing protection of American forces. McIntire warns this could dwarf the Israel-Hamas conflict. Trump has dueling messages on immigration, but says he's still vowing the largest mass deportation in history, protecting ICE and Border Patrol. Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) is tackled by Secret Service at a DHS press conference in Los Angeles after lunging at the podium to question Secretary Kristi Noem, later meeting to clarify the incident. The House narrowly passes Trump's $9.4 billion DOGE cuts, slashing foreign aid and public broadcasting funds. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shuts down Rep. Sarah Jacobs' (D-CA) culture war jab, citing mental health concerns with gender dysphoria in military readiness. McIntire fields listener questions on Los Angeles riots as law enforcement, congressional grandstanding, and Truth Social's role as Trump's megaphone. The District is preparing for the military parade celebrating the Army's 250th anniversary and falls on President Trump's 79th birthday. The procession features thousands of soldiers and 70-ton tanks and will require roads to close around the city as well as DCA airport. City officials are worried about what all of this heavy machinery could mean for local streets and infrastructure. At-Large D.C. Councilmember Christina Henderson joined the show to weigh in.Plus, she discussed the Council wanting more time to approve the RFK stadium deal. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser included a billion dollars for a new Washington Commanders football stadium in her proposed budget, which she unveiled late last month. The Mayor has said the Council needs to approve the deal and the budget by July 15, or the city risks the team backing out.But some councilmembers, including Henderson, wants to deal with RFK stadium separately. She said six weeks isn't enough time to review the complex deal."We need the opportunity to do due diligence. And what I would say to the Commanders, if they're listening, is that I would say the vast majority of my colleagues have not said no," Henderson said, "And it is in your best interest that we get this right."Last week, Prince George's County elected Aisha Braveboy in a special election for county executive. The county's former State's Attorney got behind the mic to discuss her top priorities, including the need to unify the county government. She said she's in alignment with the council and has an excellent relationship with the school board. Another focus of her administration will be getting local government agencies on the same page, especially when it comes to telework policies."You know, it's very different from agency to agency, which I think creates a morale issue. It also creates a productivity issue," Braveboy said. "And I want people to be more oriented to come into the office to work collaboratively with their colleagues and also serve the public a little bit more efficiently."Plus, Braveboy discussed the resignation of Prince George's County Schools Superintendent Millard House and her naming Shawn Joseph as the interim as a nationwide search gets under way.Send us questions and comments for guests: kojo@wamu.orgFollow us on Instagram: instagram.com/wamu885Follow us on Bluesky: bsky.app/wamu.org

News: A Disneyland icon is retiring after 55 years with the Walt Disney Company. Kim Irvine will be passing the torch to the next generation of Imagineers to guide Disneyland. Over her time with the company, Kim worked on the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Project Stardust, and more recently, the refurbishment of the Jungle Cruise and the Adventureland Treehouse. – https://www.micechat.com/417008-disneyland-news-kim-irvine-exits-coco-avatar-expand-construction-update/ Last Thursday, Disneyland President Thomas Mazloum gave a State of the Resort presentation and unveiled some major upcoming changes. The first of these was concept art for a new entrance experience for guests on the Harbor side of the resort. This includes a new Transportation Hub, and major esplanade changes. A new guest bridge will take guests from a new parking structure behind the hotels on Harbor Boulevard to the entrance to the parks. There will still be a security checkpoint on Harbor for guests staying at those hotels. The transportation hub will move from between the parks to the new parking area, along with a security checkpoint. Construction on a new 6,000 space parking structure, rideshare and shuttle zones, and everything else is set to begin in fall of 2026. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/future-expansion-plans-for-disneyland-resort/ Two other projects at Disney California Adventure got some more firm details. The “Avatar Experience” will displace Monsters, Inc. Mike and Sully to the Rescue!, which will close in early 2026. No further details on the experience, construction timeline, or anything else for this area was announced. The “Coco”-themed attraction did get some more details! The attraction will be located near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, in a current backstage area. Construction will begin this fall! – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/future-expansion-plans-for-disneyland-resort/ June is Black Music Month, which means the return of an annual celebration. Celebrate Soulfully runs now through the end of June. The event features specialty food, character meet and greets, and performances around the resort. – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events-tours/celebrate-soulfully/ While we were in the parks, we were able to get a sneak peek over the scrim to see the update on the Tiki Room. It appears that Tangaroa has been installed and other Tiki Gods are also being refreshed. The flowers and tikis that fall from Tangaroa look to be higher up than before, but it was hard to say for certain over the scrim. – https://www.micechat.com/417008-disneyland-news-kim-irvine-exits-coco-avatar-expand-construction-update/ The Walt Disney Archives does some amazing work, which you can see in the parks for the 70th! Inside of Carthay Circle Restaurant, there is a new “Celebrating 70 Years of Disneyland Resort with the Walt Disney Archives” exhibit. It features a ticket book, a Sam the Eagle top hat from America Sings, a Disneyland survey marker, and more. Certainly worth checking out if you are in the parks. – https://www.micechat.com/417008-disneyland-news-kim-irvine-exits-coco-avatar-expand-construction-update/ We had talked previously of some of the missing decorations from the 70th concept art for Sleeping Beauty Castle. Well, they were just a little late for the start of the celebration! The toppers to the banners on the drawbridge have been installed. They feature two horns attached to the 70th medallion, and swirling magic leading up to the light on top. – https://www.micechat.com/417008-disneyland-news-kim-irvine-exits-coco-avatar-expand-construction-update/ Disney giveth and Disney taketh away. The fountains in the moat in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle appear to have been removed. The fountains were installed for the Disney100 celebration and were expected to stay after, but they are now gone. – https://www.micechat.com/417008-disneyland-news-kim-irvine-exits-coco-avatar-expand-construction-update/ The “main” location of Earl of Sandwich has a closing date. July 25th marks the end of Earl in the former La Brea Bakery location, leaving the temporary “pop-up” location by the old ESPN Zone building. The final location for Earl of Sandwich, near the D-Lander shop is still under construction. – https://www.micechat.com/417008-disneyland-news-kim-irvine-exits-coco-avatar-expand-construction-update/ SnackChat: Pride Nite Foodie Guide – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/disney-eats-foodie-guide-to-pride-nite-at-disneyland-2025/ Discussion Topic: D23 Disney Archives and Studio Tour

Send Us a Message (include your contact info if you'd like a reply)Divorce has a reputation for bringing out surprising behaviors in otherwise composed, reasonable people. Even the most patient parent might find themselves sending aggressive texts at 2 AM. The kindest spouse might suddenly become fixated on revenge. The most logical professional might make financially devastating decisions based purely on emotion. Why does this happen? In this episode, we explore the psychological underpinnings of why good people often behave badly during divorce. We unpack the popular saying that "criminal courts see bad people on their best day, while divorce courts see good people on their worst day" - a profound truth that helps us understand the perfect storm of emotional, practical, and identity challenges divorce creates. When someone faces the end of their marriage, they're not just untangling a relationship - they're grieving the life they expected to have. This grief, combined with practical pressures like custody arrangements and financial concerns, pushes many into survival mode. And when we're in survival mode, our capacity for rational thinking diminishes dramatically. As divorce coaches, we've developed specific approaches for working with clients caught in reactive emotional states. We share practical techniques for creating judgment-free spaces where clients can explore what's really happening beneath their anger, fear, or revenge fantasies. Through powerful questions that invite self-awareness, we help clients align their behavior with their true values and long-term goals.Whether you're a helping professional working with divorcing clients or someone navigating your own divorce journey, this conversation offers compassionate insights into the emotional complexity of ending a marriage. Remember, reacting emotionally doesn't make someone a bad person - it makes them human. With the right support, these challenging moments can become opportunities for profound growth and self-discovery. Divorce often brings emotional chaos—and as attorneys, mediators, financial advisors, divorce coaches, and dispute resolution professionals, you're tasked with guiding clients through it.Join us for a practical and engaging LinkedIn Learning webinar:“From Chaos to Clarity: Strategies for Work with High Emotional Clients in Divorce" Learn more and RSVP Learn more about DCA® or any of the classes or events mentioned in this episode at the links below:Website: www.divorcecoachesacademy.comInstagram: @divorcecoachesacademyLinkedIn: divorce-coaches-academyEmail: DCA@divorcecoachesacademy.com

Tracy and Debra dive deep into why this hesitation happens and how divorce professionals can effectively guide clients past this common roadblock. At the heart of settlement hesitation lies a fascinating cocktail of psychological factors. Many clients fear anchoring too low, worried that their first offer becomes the ceiling rather than the floor for negotiations. Others simply aren't emotionally ready to take steps that make their divorce feel more real and final. Information gaps create legitimate concerns about making uninformed decisions, while strategic positioning—the belief that making the first move reveals weakness—can transform negotiations into costly standoffs where the refusal to engage becomes more important than resolution itself. What makes this episode particularly valuable is the practical framework Tracy and Debra provide for helping clients reframe their thinking. Rather than viewing the first offer as vulnerability, they demonstrate how it represents an opportunity to control the narrative and set the agenda. Through visualization exercises, core value identification, and distinguishing between sufficient versus perfect information, coaches can transform client paralysis into empowered decision-making.Whether you're working with clients who fear appearing desperate, those waiting for external validation, or individuals paralyzed by potential regret, this episode offers tailored strategies to break the settlement standoff and move the divorce process forward. What approaches have you found effective in helping clients overcome their hesitation to make settlement offers? Join Jim and Greg for Tuesday's 3 Martini Lunch as they examine big developments on President Trump's border enforcement, former cabinet officials dishing on Biden's decline while staying off the record, and an alarming communications failure between the Pentagon and Reagan National Airport that lasted three years - including the night of January's fatal mid-air collision.First, they cheer April's southern border numbers, with just 8,383 apprehensions reported—down 93 percent from April 2024. Jim says the stunning turnaround under President Trump is likely to be ignored by most media outlets now that the crisis is under control.Next, they dig into a report featuring three former Biden cabinet secretaries who described the former president as “disoriented and out of it,” even observing his mouth agape during meetings. But the sources remain anonymous. Jim wants to know why these cabinet officials didn't invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Biden from office. Greg slams these anonymous cabinet officials as cowards for not putting their names on their statements, probably because they still have political ambitions. Finally, they're stunned by revelations this week that "a hotline connecting air traffic controllers at Reagan National Airport and their counterparts at the Pentagon has been inoperable since March 2022." That means it also wasn't working on January 29, when an Army helicopter flew into the path of an American Airlines jet on approach for landing. The hotline was inoperable for nearly three years of the Biden administration and was not discovered until this month. Send Us a Message (include your contact info if you'd like a reply)The divorce coaching industry harbors a dangerous trend that's causing unnecessary harm to families across the country. In this eye-opening episode, Debra and Tracy tackle the phenomenon of "high-conflict divorce coaching" – an approach that frames every challenging divorce as a battle requiring warfare tactics rather than resolution strategies. We pull back the curtain on what legitimate professional divorce coaching actually is and contrast it with the predatory marketing of high-conflict approaches that capitalize on fear. These programs effectively encourage clients to spend more money on their divorce, complicate the process, extend timelines, and create lasting damage – all while promising to help them "win" against their ex.Through real-life examples, we reveal the staggering financial and emotional costs of choosing the high-conflict route. One client spent $80,000 on legal fees and was two years into her divorce without even reaching a temporary agreement – not because of complex assets or genuine safety concerns, but because both parties had adopted a battle mindset. We discuss how this approach operates on flawed assumptions: that you can change your spouse's behavior, that every difficult divorce involves a personality-disordered individual, and that being in constant "defense mode" is necessary. As an alternative, we outline what to look for in a divorce coach or training program: someone focused on resolution rather than winning, who emphasizes communication strategies, emotional regulation, and clear decision-making. The truth is that the outcomes are typically the same whether you take the high-conflict route or a more measured approach – the only difference is you haven't spent years in litigation or hundreds of thousands of dollars unnecessarily.Whether you're navigating divorce yourself, supporting someone who is, or considering becoming a divorce coach, this conversation provides crucial guidance for making choices that truly serve your long-term goals and your well being. Tracy and Debra dismantle this common fear among divorce coaches by showing how you can effectively support clients through financial challenges without overstepping your role.Financial uncertainty triggers our most basic survival fears—that's why money is almost always at the center of divorce conflict. According to government research, men's household income falls about 23% after divorce, while women experience a staggering 41% drop. No wonder financial anxiety runs so high! When clients worry about their ability to pay bills or put food on the table, their capacity to make sound decisions, negotiate fairly, or co-parent effectively becomes severely compromised. The podcast reveals how coaches can guide clients through creating monthly budgets—arguably the most powerful financial tool during divorce. This simple exercise answers the burning question: "Can I support myself?" Through relatable client stories like Martha (who discovered her post-divorce budget was actually half what she feared) and Mary (who reconsidered keeping the family home after seeing the long-term financial impact), Tracy and Debra demonstrate how helping clients gain financial clarity transforms fear into knowledge and powerlessness into control. They explore practical approaches to addressing income concerns, understanding the marital estate, and preparing clients for productive attorney consultations. Most importantly, they emphasize that coaches don't need calculators or financial certifications to make a difference—they just need to ask the right questions, guide clients through basic exercises, and connect them with specialists when needed.Ready to feel confident helping your divorce clients with financial foundations? Listen now to discover how you can support clients in making informed, intentional decisions that align with their values and set them up for post-divorce success. Dr. Victor Vogel, a former oncologist turned flight instructor, founded the nonprofit Susquehanna STEM to the Skies to improve STEM education in rural Pennsylvania. The aviation-based STEM program was launched to address declining science and math scores among students, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. By combining aviation concepts with hands-on learning, the program offers a powerful way to teach science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in real-world contexts. Victor discovered that aviation offers rich, practical applications for STEM—such as flight navigation, time-speed-distance calculations, weight and balance, and engineering challenges. At the heart of the program is a Redbird FMX full-motion flight simulator, which draws students to the airport and anchors immersive educational experiences. Victor quickly learned that involving educators—not just pilots—was critical. Today, the board includes school superintendents, career technical center (CTC) leaders, and drone experts. Students experience aviation careers beyond piloting, including aircraft maintenance, drone operation, medical helicopter crews, and aerospace engineering. Field trips, Girl Scout and Boy Scout aviation badge events, career fairs, and summer STEM camps all expose kids to high-demand aviation-related fields. Programs often include time in the simulator, tours of LifeFlight helicopters, and visits to maintenance hangars and paint shops. Partnering with Sun Technical Institute, the program offers career-track students opportunities to fabricate metal airplanes and build Mars rover kits. A Redbird J desktop simulator expands access for physically challenged students. Another initiative included building a pedal-powered Piper Cub with students, demonstrating how aviation and vocational trades can intersect creatively. Several success stories highlight the program's impact. One former flight attendant is now a multi-rated certified flight instructor after a single inspiring simulator session. Others have moved on to flight schools, the Air Force Academy, or regional airline careers. The program's ripple effect is also reaching educators. One high school band director attended the AOPA High School STEM Symposium, launched an aviation club, and introduced aviation curriculum into his school. The organization was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in late 2020—just as the COVID-19 pandemic was surging. Despite the initial slow progress, Victor journaled his efforts during the pandemic, later publishing them in his book Pains and Planes, which captures both the struggle of cancer patients during COVID and his dream of launching a STEM nonprofit. Looking forward, Victor emphasizes the importance of finding volunteers—especially retired pilots, mechanics, teachers, and educators. He believes many people are simply waiting to be asked to contribute. He encourages others to replicate this aviation nonprofit model in their own communities by starting with educators, partnering with local airports, forming a nonprofit, and reaching out to media for visibility. For those inspired to launch a similar STEM and aviation program, Victor recommends building partnerships with school districts and intermediate units, seeking grants and donations, and always putting student engagement first. His program shows that aviation-based STEM education can uplift rural students and guide them toward rewarding careers. Send Us a Message (include your contact info if you'd like a reply)When children become pawns in their parents' divorce battles, the emotional damage can last a lifetime. Triangulation—the process where children are drawn into parental conflict—affects over 80% of high-conflict divorces and significantly increases children's risk for anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties well into adulthood. In this compelling deep dive, Debra and Tracy unpack the three distinct forms of triangulation that plague divorcing families. They explore how children become direct participants in conflict when used as messengers or interrogated about the other parent's home. They reveal the subtle yet equally harmful pattern where children feel caught in the middle even when parents believe they're shielding them from tension. And they examine the most damaging form—when parents deliberately draw children into coalitions against the other parent through criticism, loyalty tests, and false narratives. What makes this conversation particularly valuable is the practical coaching framework offered for helping parents recognize and break these destructive patterns. Through awareness-building questions, perspective-shifting exercises, and concrete strategies—from establishing direct adult communication to creating emotional safety zones—listeners gain tools to guide families toward healthier dynamics. The powerful question at the heart of this work resonates throughout: "Do you want to give your children a child-centered divorce or a divorce-centered childhood?"Whether you're a divorce professional working with high-conflict families or a parent navigating co-parenting challenges, this episode provides insight into transforming harmful patterns into opportunities for healing. Because when parents take accountability and keep children out of adult conflicts, they're not just breaking a cycle—they're building resilience that will serve their children for years to come. It might be time to unlock the most powerful marketing tool you're probably neglecting—your email list.Trust serves as the cornerstone of the coach-client relationship, particularly when guiding someone through the emotional complexities of divorce. While social platforms broadcast your message widely, they lack the intimacy and privacy that email marketing delivers directly to your ideal client's inbox. As we often remind our coaching community, "If social media is the cocktail party, email marketing is meeting up for coffee."The statistics don't lie—email marketing consistently outperforms social media in conversion rates, especially for service-based businesses like divorce coaching. The CODY bot, a tool used to streamline procurement processes at the General Services Administration, is now ready for use across the federal landscape after three years of buildout. CODY aggregates prerequisite data into a checklist, according to GSA officials familiar with the tool, enabling staffers to see if a vendor has met all representation requirements — ensuring there is no active federal debt against a vendor, and no exclusionary or responsibility cautions to trigger notifications. The agency primarily tracks how many hours the bot saves in a year rather than the costs saved, according to one of the officials. GSA Administrator Stephen Ehikian posted on X that the bot's completion resulted in the cancellation of a $423,000 contract. “President Trump's GSA is at the forefront of leveraging technology for government to produce tools that boost productivity and our employee's potential,” Ehikian said in a statement to FedScoop. A pair of House Democrats are sounding the alarm about the U.S. Secret Service's use of counter-drone technology, which recently triggered air traffic control system alerts at the Washington National Airport. Democratic Reps. Rick Larsen of Washington and Bennie Thompson of Mississippi are demanding more information about the use of the technology and raising concerns about whether the Department of Homeland Security component is following proper procedures. In a Monday letter sent to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, the lawmakers pointed to alerts produced by the Traffic Collision Avoidance System last month. These alerts made erroneous recommendations to several commercial and Coast Guard aircraft, Larsen and Thompson say. And according to analysis conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration, the alerts were produced by Secret Service anti-drone technology at a nearby Defense Department location. The confusion comes after the deadly crash between a commercial airline and an Army helicopter at DCA airport earlier this year, which resulted in dozens of deaths. While DHS has launched an investigation, the Democratic congressmen say the counter-drone technology deployed by the DOD was operating outside existing notifications — and that the Secret Service did not share required notifications with the FAA. Yesterday afternoon, two American Airlines aircraft collided on a taxiway at the airport, with one aircraft clipping the wing of another waiting to takeoff.Florida: A small plane (Registration: N8930N) crashed in Boca Raton this morning, killing all three aboard the aircraft.AC: This small private aircraft was exhibiting erratic flight immediately upon takeoff from Boca Raton Airport, with transponder data indicating the aircraft was experiencing some sort of control failure and only able to make left-hand turns. No official cause of the crash has been released, as the incident investigation will take some time to complete as usual.Colorado: A highly controversial disarmament bill was signed in to law yesterday, which in effect outlaws almost every single firearm that has a detachable magazine within the state.AC: While it is certain that this law will be challenged in court, this is still the most draconian disarmament bill that's been passed recently.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: While it's hard to correlate the issues at Reagan National Airport to one single point of failure, personnel problems have continued throughout the commercial aviation community at large. Two weeks ago, a fistfight broke out in the tower at DCA, with authorities arresting Damon Gaines for punching his fellow air traffic controller in the face during operations, causing brief ground stop to be issued while the scuffle in the tower was handled. Two days ago, the FAA stated that they will be offering reassignment opportunities to personnel who work in the tower at DCA. On the same day as that announcement, the FAA's lead official in charge of all traffic control operations, Tim Arel, announced his retirement after a 40 year career in air traffic management, contributing to the overall personnel concerns of the past few months.Analyst: S2A1Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground//END REPORT//

The Former Disinformation Czar Nina Jankowicz who now writes for Bulwark, claims Conservatives weren't actually being censored. DOGE discovered millions in taxpayer dollars were wasted on unemployment claims for ‘fake people'. A flight carrying lawmakers gets nudged on the runway at DCA. We're trading coasts and heading west for our very first trip to Disneyland! That's right—after years of covering Walt Disney World, we're finally getting the chance to experience the park that started it all. So today, we're counting down the eight things we're most excited to see, do, eat, and feel when we set foot in the Happiest Place on Earth. We kick things off with what might be one of the biggest draws for Walt Disney World veterans—simpler planning. From more day-of dining options to Lightning Lane flexibility and shorter trips that still feel full of magic, Disneyland encourages a spontaneous, go-with-the-flow style that takes the stress out of scheduling. That leads us into the vibe of the parks themselves—Disney California Adventure's uniquely themed lands, like Radiator Springs and Avengers Campus, offer a laid-back SoCal energy that's perfect for park hopping in under a minute. We'll also chat about seasonal events and entertainment we're catching during our trip, like DCA's Food & Wine Festival and Season of the Force. Add in Fantasmic! and fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle, and we've got a lot of nighttime magic to look forward to.Of course, Disneyland's culture and character interactions are a big part of the appeal. The more relaxed pace, roaming characters, and local passholder vibe all offer a very different feel from the Florida parks. And when it comes to food, we're more than ready to dig into some legendary Disneyland snacks—from corn dogs and churros to beignets and high-quality quick service. We'll wrap things up with a look at classic and unique attractions, the charming scale and layout, and finally, the emotional pull of walking in Walt's footsteps at his original park.Join us as we count down the top reasons we're absolutely thrilled to head to Disneyland for the very first time!MEI-Travel – Expertise. Max discusses engine-out scenarios and best glide strategies, prompted by listener feedback on Episode 372, which analyzed the crash of a Bonanza B35B (N2UZ) that suffered engine failure at 7,500 feet near Charlottesville, VA. Although the pilot did many things correctly, he overshot a long field and crashed. Max highlights choices that might have improved the outcome, such as flight following and alternate route planning. Listener emails, read by Aviation News Talk intern Kelly, offer insights and experiences. Karen Larson shares how a conversation about the episode helped her husband safely land a T6 with a failed engine. David Dismore and Nico Ghilardi emphasize the value of practicing power-off landings, especially from high altitudes. Daniel Switkin points out that glide range rings in EFB apps may not always be reliable, referencing an AOPA test. Carter Boswell inquires about glide differences between windmilling and stopped props. Max references Peter Garrison and Tom Turner for technical insight. Bozzie Boswell from Australia introduces the AvPlan EFB app, which offers planning features to keep routes within gliding range of airports. Max underscores the importance of preparation, practice, and situational awareness to improve survival chances during engine-out emergencies.
