Film School - "Superperfection" from the 2021 album We Weren't Here on Sonic Ritual. Long-running west coast shoegaze group Film School return this fall with the full-length We Weren't Here, a nod to pandemic-related conditions in which they recorded the album. Band members — bassist Justin LaBo, guitarist Nyles Lannon, frontman Greg Bertens, and keyboardist Jason Ruck — were divided between the Bay Area and Los Angeles, recording their parts from their respective home studios and then emailing files back and forth.  We Weren't Here will be released September 24th via Sonic Ritual.  Read the full post on KEXP.org Support the show: https://www.kexp.org/donate See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

“Life is a journey.” Journeying through life in the 21st century is complicated. We journey trying to ‘find ourselves', to make sense of purpose and meaning in life. In Genesis 2:4-25, we learn that God has created us with identity, purpose, and needs. And these are meant to guide us on our journey. Pastor Johanan brings us the third sermon in the series: We Weren't Always Travellers!

Alaia and I hang out on the deck and talk about how our parents may have passed their trauma on to us, how we view race, and how Alaia overcame her high school battles with teenage depression and drinking. Alaia gives her unfiltered views on our former High School and why she brought her family back to the area. Also, playing bartender during the episode is Alaia's boyfriend and fellow 2001 graduate, my actual friend Aaron Cooper. Growing up in Ohio and working for different farms and construction companies, Matt Light learned what hard honest work was like.  On the football field, he found a home where strength met aggression and technique.  In the hunting woods, he found an appreciation and passion for the outdoors where focus on technique mattered just as much as it did on the football field.  Matt paid little attention to football outside of his hometown high school team, but college football recruiters were paying attention to him.  He played a full collegiate career at Purdue along side Drew Brees and soon found himself playing along side Tom Brady for the New England Patriots from 2001 to 2012.  Matt says that football taught him many lessons in life, but so has hunting where he says sometimes you just have one of those days where everything goes your way. Today, after spending 11 years in the NFL, he has set his sights on raising money for the Matt Light Foundation (www.MattLight72.com) where he hopes to help the slightly misguided youth towards a life of success and leadership through connections with the outdoors. Oh, and Matt hunts now more than ever. As you might imagine, playing under Coach Bill Belichick for 11 years might have interrupted a deer season or two, so he's making up for lost time.   OUR SPONSORS: Advanced Treestands www.AdvancedTreestands.com Morse's Sporting Goods www.MorseSportingGoods.com   DEER NEWS: Snowmobiler Lays Claim to 180" Buck Pennsylvania Game Commission Releases Deer Harvest Numbers Men Charged with Poaching in Wyoming After Being on TV Show   HERE'S WHAT WE DISCUSS: The Bill Belichick School of Broadcasting Just Ask Bill  Never as Good as It Seems, Never as Bad as It Seems From Ohio to the Northeast, A Contrast The Biggest Field in New England is a Football Field Working for Contractors and Farmers Applied Ability, Aggression Applied Correctly Is Good Pellets and BB Guns, Small Game Training High School Football, We Weren't a Power House Scholarships, Purdue, My Sister was an Over Achiever Beating Ohio State, Drew Brees (At His Finest) Keep Whipping Me, I'll Keep Running Getting Drafted, and Day 1 With the Patriots What We All Have Inside Surgery for the Shoulder, To Shoot the Bow Crohn's Disease, Injuries, Learning Moments Tom Brady, and Great Protection Post NFL Football, The Game Today Rob Gronkowski, The Matt Light Foundation 5000 Kids at Camp, Winter's Meats Ohio Leadership for Knuckleheads Fools Night Out - Boston April 1 Matt Light, The Hunter Hunting Transition, From Ohio to New England A Learning Curve, Lack of Patterns Navigation, Going East on Highway North Treestand Therapy, One Off Day Deer Densities, Stick and String, Old English and Mathews Shooting the #1 Arrow Memorable Deer Hunt and 10 Rapid Fire Questions Our APP: www.BigBuckRegistry.com/app Help Support This Show: www.BigBuckRegistry.com/pledge FEEDBACK HOTLINE: 724-613-2825 REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE on iTUNES and Stitcher: www.BigBuckRegistry.com/itunes www.BigBuckRegistry.com/stitcher Want to Know When the Next Big Buck Podcast is Released?
