Any product that aims to help Mother Nature thrive and help the world function better is a great product. Kyle Ewing, the Founder and President of TerraSlate, talks about the genesis of the idea for TerraSlate paper to product development. The product is environmentally conscious as it minimizes the use of paper. With its efficiency, TerraSlate has become bigger, and the need for manpower also increased. With Kyle’s management efforts, he shares his key learnings from running the business as well as the challenges they had to go through as a team. He highlights his company’s overarching protocol which stands on three pillars of success – quality, speed, and customer service. — Watch the episode: Listen to the podcast: The TerraSlate Advantage with Kyle Ewing We’re with Kyle Ewing. He’s the Founder and President of (https://terraslatepaper.com/) . I had the pleasure of meeting him at a horse event. We’re in the signature flight terminal outside of DIA and Kyle’s about to fly to Houston. We’re headed down to Houston on a jet to see some clients in the oil and gas industry. You will all have to cross your fingers for a good meeting! Kyle, tell us about your business and who you serve. My business is called TerraSlate. We make treeless paper that’s 100% waterproof and rip-proof. People often ask me, “Why do you need paper in a digital age?” What I tell them is there are millions and millions of things that not only get printed, but that get laminated and handled heavily on a daily basis. Something like a restaurant menu is always a good go-to example. Restaurant menus get handled by as many as 100 people a day and they get wiped down, spilled on, and people put hot coffee cups on them. They get wine or salsa spilled all over them and what’s cool is you can wipe them clean. For a restaurant, that’s very advantageous. The other benefits are you can print it through any laser printer and you can write on it with a pen. Instead of printing out a sheet, then taking it over to the laminating machine and feeding the laminating machine one sheet at a time with traditional laminating pouches, you can put a ream of TerraSlate in your printer and click go. When it comes out, it’s done. You can do 500 in two minutes. We do everything from restaurant menus to work with biotech firms for materials in their labs. The paper is non-porous. If they’re working with hazardous chemicals or something like anthrax, the paper can go into the lab. It can get written on or used, usually, it’s a chart or some type that’s being filled out, and then it can go into the chemical bath and go out of the lab. You don’t have to type your notes before leaving the lab anymore. With grocery stores, we do a lot of price tags, as well as behind the scenes manuals and foodservice guides. The next time you go to Whole Foods, touch the price tags, those are all done on TerraSlate. There are a couple of other cool things as well. We do maps and nautical charts for the military. We work with all four branches of the military as well as the Coast Guard. We’ve been having a good time with it. A customer called me and asked how does TerraSlate react to Plutonium 236 or whatever the isotope was. I said, “I have no idea. I don’t have any way to test that, but I’d be happy to put some samples in the mail. That way you can test it and let me know how it works.” I’m very excited to hear how that works if that works at all. People hearing about TerraSlate paper, that you developed, and they’re asking, “How in the world did you think of this?” What drove you down this path? You’re a bit of a serial entrepreneur. This is my third company. The first one I made a successful exit from. I bought myself a sports car and I bought my wife a house. The second one, I failed on. The third one is TerraSlate....

In the first of an occasional series on fandom, we dive into one of the most loyal, long-running followings in pop music: that of the humble legend Ms. Britney Spears. As an official Britney stan, Pop Literacy cohost Jennifer Keishin Armstrong knows it well, and is here to dissect it with the cohosts of her favorite podcast, It’s Britney, Bitch!, T. Kyle and Bradley Stern. With Kyle and Bradley, we walk you through the incredible 20-year tale of Britney, from her astonishing debut at 17, to her public struggles with fame at the heights of tabloid culture, to the otherworldly resilience that has kept her going far longer than any mere mortal could. We also talk about the unique trials required of true Britney fans, like a certain conspiracy-theory-inducing skepticism over just what the hell went on with that Britney Jean album or our total panic over her recent “indefinite career hiatus.” And finally, we offer casual or lapsed Britney fans some recommendations to truly appreciate Britney’s artistry, bravery, cultural significance, and innovation, including the 2008 MTV documentary For the Record, some deep cuts (yes, we made you iTunes and Spotify playlists), and, of course, the It’s Britney, Bitch! podcast.
Top Rope Nation returns to talk about this Sunday's WWE TLC show. Plus, we have a discussion on some of the latest news in wrestling since our last show, including the debate Jimmy Jacobs got going on Twitter regarding the WWE writers room and how hard it is to write RAW, the death of "The Dynamite Kid" Tom Billington, and whether or not The Rock will return to WWE for WrestleMania (and who he should face). To find out how Win walk and about Ekso go to http://www.bridgingbionics.org/, or email Amanda Boxtel atamanda@bridgingbionics.org. On Butterflies of Wisdom today, Best-Selling Author, Win Kelly Charles welcomes Kyle Bryant. Kyle was diagnosed with Friedreich’s ataxia (FA) at age seventeen and found that as the disease progressed he had to give up the sports so interwoven in his life growing up in Northern California; sports such as golf, baseball, basketball and football. When Kyle's FA had progressed to a point where it became unsafe for him to continue riding his bike, he put a stop to the loss of the activity he cherished. He took back control, purchased a recumbent trike, and resumed his riding with passion. Kyle started small with an initial ride of 7 miles. However, fueled with a passion for pushing the limits and do more with his life Kyle built up to a century ride (100 mi in a day) within four months of his first ride. Upon completion of his first time, he decided that the sky was the limit. In 2007 Kyle founded Ride Ataxia with a 2,500-mile 59-day ride from San Diego, CA to Memphis TN. The goal of the ride was to raise awareness and much-needed research funds for FA, a disease that has no treatment, no cure, no hope…until now. Kyle and Ride Ataxia did not stop in Memphis. Kyle’s cycling feats include Sacramento to Las Vegas, NV, Portland, OR to Seattle, WA, and completion of Race Across America in which his four-man team finished the 3,000-mile race in 8 days, 8 hours, and 14 minutes. With his trike as the vehicle of change, Kyle took his hopeless situation of no treatment, no cure, no hope and turned it into an opportunity to do something great for himself and many others. In 2009 Kyle became the Spokesperson for the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) in their mission to cure FA. With Kyle as the program director, Ride Ataxia has become FARA’s Marquee fundraising event with challenging yet family friendly bike rides all over the USA – welcoming 2500 participants and raising $800,000 per year. After many weeks of enduring some of the worst stories in this run of Green Lantern, we finally reach the end of the Ben Raab era with issue #175, a double sized anniversary issue. With Kyle found out as Strawberry Shadowhawk, he has to finally face down Amon Sur, leader of the Black Circle, as well as find a way to destroy the Qwardian Quantum Singularity Generator that is threatening to destroy Oa and bring the Qwardians into the matter universe, Also, there's some amount of resolution between Terry Berg and his parents over his decision to leave for his job in L.A. But this doesn't mean that this issue is free of wonkiness. In fact, I have to wonder how the issue's WTF ending was supposed to lead into the next book. Oh well, at least it's all over, and next time out Ron Marz comes back! HOORAY!!!
