Winter is here and the guys are smoking out Westeros as we talk Game of Thrones all month long! This week the guys discuss season 4, episode 9 The Watchers on the Wall. But first did Jake wear lots of Phat Farm? Did Ecko have dope Marvel designs? What was Cody's nickname in high school? Are Anthony and Cody the No Sellers on the Wall? Was this the biggest episode so far in the series? Does Grenn go out like a G? Is The Night's Watch like the Green Lantern Corps? Is Ser Alliser a badass? Is Tormund in beastmode? Were giants real in our world? Does Samwell get money? Were the Thenns good villains? Do we know the difference between wights and white walkers (no)? Would we survive this battle (yes)? Would Jake fuck a giant to death (hell yes)? Would Alliser be a good Kilowog? How is the Game of Thrones sword choreography? Can we name all the Valerian steel swords? Was Deadwood underrated? Does Westeros use lots of Earth's animals? Did the showrunners make Troy? Does Anthony introduce a brilliant work of writing, The Commie Pledge? Do we Stan Stannis? Capes On the Couch - Where Comics Get Counseling

We kick off Season 10 and Lantern Month with the prickliest Earth Lantern, GUY GARDNER! How does Doc survive a session with someone like this? Tune in to find out! Intro Welcome back for Season 10 January is Lantern Month Patrons will get an exclusive episode, plus a watch party of the Ryan Reynolds movie Background (4:00) Guy Gardner created by John Broome and Gil Kane in Green Lantern #59 (March 1968) Guy is the child of an abusive alcoholic who regularly beat him, giving him an aggressive nature and a defiance to authority In college, however, he shifts and becomes engaged in social work, and later a teacher for disabled children When Abin Sur's ring sought out a successor, Guy Gardner would have been chosen had he been closer, but since Hal Jordan was in the vicinity of the crash, he was selected He later becomes a reserve Lantern, backing up John Stewart Hal's power battery explodes in his face, trapping him in the Phantom Zone - when he is freed, he is comatose and suffering from brain damage for many years The Guardians revive him and give him a new ring & outfit, and charge him with assembling a team to battle the Anti-Monitor - the brain damage during his coma altered his personality, leaving him immature, arrogant, and violent He is a founding member of the Justice League International, although he chafes against Batman's leadership - Batman knocks him out with one punch, and when he awakens, he is empathetic and caring - until he hits his head again, and he reverts to his abrasive self Loses a fight with Hal and surrenders his ring, but later finds a yellow ring of Sinestro's After losing an eye in another fight with Hal/Parallax, he drinks from the Warrior chalice and unlocks dormant powers hidden in his DNA - he then becomes a shapeshifter that can create weapons from his limbs He is returned to full human in GL Rebirth when the Parallax entity is stripped from the main power battery, and he becomes one of the trainers for the new Corps, later becoming a member of the Honor Guard During Blackest Night & War of the Lanterns, he wears a Red ring and then a Sapphire ring, fueling himself with rage over the death of Kyle Rayner and his love of the Corps New 52 - He gets dismissed from the Corps after the Guardians create the Third Army to replace all Green Lanterns, but regains his ring, and along with Simon Baz & other Lanterns, they defeat the Guardians and restore the Corps Then he joins the Red Lanterns, working as an undercover agent on behalf of the Green Lanterns - he takes over from Atrocitus as leader, and uses his rage against what he felt as disrespect from Hal, John, Kyle, the Guardians, and the Corps Issues - Gotta love ‘em, because otherwise you'll hate ‘em (9:03) All right, so...Guy Gardner. The friend in the group no one really likes that much. The really difficult coworker who's indispensable and you have to try and get along with because you know he's not going anywhere. The guy who never really grew out of his high school jock phase. We've all known a few Guy Gardners in our lives. Some of us may have even been a Guy Gardner at one time and not know it. Guy's really not that much of a mystery. His issues are right there out in the open in big blinking neon letters. Cockiness and abrasive personality. If you aren't aware of how great a Green Lantern, superhero, or a man Guy is, just ask him. He'll be happy to tell you all about it. If you have a disagreement about Guy's assessment of himself, he'll also be happy to correct your misconceptions. Loudly, at first. Violently, if loudly doesn't get the job done. Guy's got an incredibly big mouth and certainly doesn't mind telling you exactly what he thinks of you. This tends to make him more than a little difficult to get along with as a person, and much more difficult as a teammate. It's become a running gag over Guy's time in DC that his fellow Corps members and Justice League teammates are not shy about expressing enjoyment when bad things befall him. Even people like Superman, who'd normally be above such things. No sense of self-preservation. You know that phrase, "your mouth's writing checks your ass can't cash"? Guy's ass has not only stopped payment on the many checks his mouth has written over the years, it's sent his mouth several overdraft notices. It's the primary requirement of a Green Lantern's job description to be able to overcome great fear. One of the reasons Guy is such a great Lantern is that he seems too thick-headed to even understand the concept of fear at all. His default mode is, "you want a piece of me?" and he frequently charges head-first into a fight without any plan other than letting his willpower, gumption, and titanium balls carry the day. And he will often get slapped around for his trouble, not only by more powerful opponents like Doomsday, but baseline humans he picks fistfights with like Hal Jordan and Batman. It really seems like a little bit of healthy rational fear would serve him well. (25:48) Identity wrapped up in being a Green Lantern. Of all the Lanterns we meet and get to know well, Guy loves being part of the Corps and being a superhero maybe more than any of them. Beneath his rough exterior, the times he's been on the outs with the rest of the Corps and stripped of his position absolutely kills him inside. During the War of the Lanterns arc, where he had to learn how to power a violet ring off of love, the only thing that got it working was him proclaiming his love for the Corps, and how he had absolutely nothing without them. Guy is a person who loves his job more than anything else in his life, and doesn't really know how to function when it doesn't love him back. (31:16) Break (40:41) Plugs for Ignorance Was Bliss, Play Comics, and Howard Mackie Treatment (41:53) In-universe - Make Guy think Doc is the best of the best, and then deflate that Out of universe - Real-world equivalents? Come on, the world is full of these people. Men, women, rich, poor, they come from all backgrounds, all walks of life. Pig-headed people who think highly of themselves, think they're always right, and have a hard time making anything more than the most superficial connections with others. People who never really matured as they got older, who love to rag on others way past the point where it stops being funny, who carry jokes way too far, and can't let things go. But for whatever reason, it's easier to keep them around than the alternative. (45:28) Skit Hello Guy, I'm Dr. Issues. - What's up Doc? Not much - I bet you hear that ALL THE TIME. Eh, you get used to it. - Must be tough, dealing with all these whackjobs and nasty bastards all day.  It's not easy, but - I mean it's not like patrolling the whole galaxy or nuthin', but it's a good gig I ‘spose. I do like - Must take a lotta willpower to face all the stuff you see every day. Bet you think you could even wield a power ring, eh? To be honest, I hadn't considered - Well lemme disabuse you of that idea right off the bat. THIS ring is only for the strongest of will. There are a lotta wannabe ring-slingers out there, but the Corps only takes the best o' the best. I should know, they picked me.  I can see - An' I'm so good they let me weed out the softies who can't hack it. Me an' Kilowog, we train all the rookies an' turn ‘em into solid, functioning Lanterns. Not just anyone can do that, ya know. I'm sure - ‘Course if I had full control, there'd be a few folks I'd never have let in the first place. I mean Sinestro, c'mon, you can see from a mile away he's one guy who shoulda never got a ring. His name is friggin' Sinestro, I mean, what's next, a lantern called Evil McMurder? The Smurfs make a lotta mistakes, but that's gotta be up there, top 5 at least. Smurfs? - The Guardians, lil' blue dudes, they created the Corps. They say they don't use emotion, but if you ask me, sometimes they throw logic out the window too. Then again, they put me in charge of stuff, so what's that saying? A blind squirrel finds a nut? I have heard that - I mean, I should be the full-time Lantern for Earth, we don't even need anyone else. The other guys are OK, but if you can have filet mignon, why settle for a sloppy joe? Different folks have - John's alright. Bit too stick in the mud for me sometimes, but he's definitely thorough when it comes to dealing with stuff. A Marine cop architect ain't exactly the kinda guy who's gonna miss details. An' a black guy has seen enough hateful stuff to give him perspective on conflict, I mean i'm sure you get crap all the time. I don't quite see how that's - Kyle's a good kid. He's gotta stop beatin' himself up over every lil' thing, though. He needs better coping skills, ya can't just draw your problems away. I mean he's a great partner, but the crying and whining get old after a while. “Oh i'm a sensitive artist, all my girlfriends die, boo hoo.” If he starts pissin' me off I ask him to get me somethin' outta the fridge from Alex. That shuts him up for a while hahahaha Wow, I don't even know where - An' then there's Jordan. The hotshot. The ace pilot. The pretty boy. If I hadda nickel every time someone fawned over him, I'd be able to afford a nice little place in Pago Pago. He's gotten us inta more scrapes and fights than I can count. Seems like just about every problem the Corps has can be traced back to him, somethin' he did, someone he ticked off, it's almost always Hal. An' he knows it too. What I wouldn't give ta wipe that smug smile offa his mug. Sounds like you've got - Oh an' don't get me wrong, I've tried. More than once, actually. Sonuvabitch always ends up getting me with a lucky shot.  If it's happened more than once - But as much as it pains me ta say it, for every time he's put us in danger, he's saved our ass. Mine, yours, the universe's. He and I have gone toe-to-toe so many times, and no matter what, he's always gonna be the first one ta back me up when it hits the fan. So yeah, I don't like him half the time, but that don't mean I don't respect him. Fact is, he needs me to push him.  How do you - He knows I'm right awn his ass, ready to take his spot if he so much as sneezes the wrong way. John, Kyle, the other kids, hell even the other Lanterns, we're all waiting for him to mess up. And the beauty of it is, ya don't even hafta wait that long, because it's Hal.  That kind of pressure - Makes diamonds? Yeah, that's what it's like in the Corps. We don't have the luxury of second-guessing ourselves. Ya can't be afraid of things, that's kinda the whole point. No fear, willpower, all o' that. When ya been through everything I've been through, fear is a waste o' time.  But fear can - An' all those other colors, the Froot Loops Troops, they can suck an egg.  Other emotions are just as - Yeah, I'm sure you're gonna give me some spiel about the power of emotions, and I'll be honest, I've felt the power of all of ‘em at some point, ‘specially when they're punching you in the face. *whispers* I'd like to punch you in the face -*oblivious* Yeah, I'm used to people being too intimidated to say what they really mean. That ain't me. You know what the world needs more of? People like me to take a stand. Are you sure -I knew you'd agree so I figured I'd give you a shot at bouncing some ideas, I dunno. We don't have someone looking at the big picture. Dare I say, I feel like a grunt even when I'm the main event. Ya don't say -The nerve, right? Some alien overlords treat me like I'm liability when I'm the biggest asset they got *Whispers again* just biggest ass* -Oh man, I must be going deaf, you say somethin? You know doc, you're alright. You know how to listen. You're not like all the others that want to talk down to me or beat me to a pulp. I heard about people like you. You got…whadja call it… Common sense? -No…you actually think about people. Nobody is really brave or stupid enough to do that unless they have a ginormous heart or they're a genius or they're trying to get their head ripped off or something. You just take it all in, waiting for the right time, then BAM you say just the right thing. You told me everything I'll ever need to know in one session. It's awesome. I could do this all day! But I didn't -Oh don't go with the false modesty. This is worth ten times what you charge. I'm tellin all the guys about you. I'll have you on speed dial. All day e'ery day! I don't -Just wait till the guardians learn I really am as badass as I said all along, and I got a doctor to back me up. I wouldn't -Right, need to play that card close to the vest. Damn, you're smart. Well, that's about all I can stand of this. Gonna go catch the O's game, gotta case of Natty Bo's waitin' for me. See ya ‘round Doc! *leaves* *sigh* Why do I even care about jerks like him so much? It's like I'm a magnet for these hard luck cases.. Jace and Rocky from Comic Boom are here to chat about the DC Comics releases for the week of September 1st 2021. It's a big week with the end of Infinite Frontier and multiple Batman, Green Lantern and Suicide Squad books. Join us for all the in depth breakdowns.   Swamp Thing #7 -  In Rocky's favorite DC title this week, we see the beginning of how Levi Kamei was chosen as the latest avatar of the green and how that ties in so closely to his relationship with his family. Plus writer Ram V explores the age old question of progress versus tradition. How moving forward with innovation is often times in conflict with respecting the past. All this, plus the Suicide Squad is still hot on the heels of Swamp Thing. Writer - Ram V, Artist - Mike Perkins, Color Artist - Mike Spicer, Letterer - Aditya Bidikar   Suicide Squad 2021 Annual #1 -  If you had your doubts that Superboy would ever work with Amanda Waller, you aren't alone. This annual puts it all on the table as we see just how far Waller has gone and will go to get what she wants. Rick Flagg has known this for quite some time himself and it seems he is finally going to do something about it. Could this be the beginning of the end for "The Wall"? One can only hope. Writer - Robbie Thompson, Artists - Eduardo Pansica, Julio Ferreira & Dexter Soy, Color Artist - Chris Sotomayor, Letterer - Wes Abbott   Suicide Squad #7 -  Hot on the heels of the team discovering just how Amanda Waller got her own Superboy for the team, Waller is now sending the team to hell. Their mission is to recover the Rock of Eternity, but their new teammate and teleporter, Ambush Bug, seems more intent on warning the team about what their future might hold if the keep following Waller's Orders. Meanwhile is seems clear to everyone, support staff, subordinates & the squad themselves that Amanda Waller has gone out on her own and is attempting to operate with impunity. Writer - Robbie Thompson, Penciller - Eduardo Pansica, Inker - Julio Ferreira, Color Artist - Marcelo Maiolo, Letterer - Wes Abbott   Blue & Gold #2 - Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse for our two favorite heroes, Ted Kord has been fired & removed from Kord Industries just as he was about to get the corporation to sponsor Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. To make matters worse, before Ted can even let Booster know, the constantly self=promoting super hero is already making the announcement that he and Blue Beetle are available to Joe Q Public for help with any and all needs. Writer - Dan Jurgens, Artist - Ryan Sook, Letterer - Rob Leigh   Green Lantern #6 - We see the attack on New Korugar from a different perspective as Jo Mullein arrives to smooth things over with Sinestro as Simon Baz attempts to get Teen Lantern under control. Meanwhile we learn about the threat of the Gold Centurions in the Dark Sector, but just as John Stewart us about to launch a rescue mission to save Kilowog and the other de-powered lanterns, he discovers a spy in their midst. Just who is Lonar of the New Gods and what does he want? Writer - Geoffrey Thorne, Artists - Marco Santucci & Tom Raney, Color Artist - Michael Atiyeh, Letterer - Simon Bowland   Green Lantern 2021 Annual #1 - Last we saw Jessica Cruz she was taking out three Yellow Lanterns and being offered a yellow power ring herself. Well, it seems she took the ring up on its offer, even if it was just so she could use it to return home. However, along the way, when she stops on New Korugar to return both the rings and the three defeated members of the Sinestro Corp, she is faced with a tough decision, give up the ring and be powerless to help her fellow de-powered Green Lanterns or keep it and become part of a corps that terrorizes the galaxy in an attempt to control it. What Jessica doesn't count on is getting a chance to use the ring and realize that fear can be a useful tool and not in the way you might expect. If anyone knows fear it's Jessica and she may be leading the Yellow Lantern Corps before you know it. Writer - Ryan Cady, Artist - Sami Basri & Tom Derenick, Color Artist - Hi-Fi, Letterer - Rob Leigh   Infinite Frontier #6 - We learn that upon the recreation of the multiverse all the versions of Darkseid have been combined into one, powering up this last remaining mad god to unprecedented levels. So while the Flash manages to escape and the Justice Incarnate team is seemingly victorious for now, they all know that Darkseid has only just started to plot how he will take over the multiverse. It may fall on the shoulders of Justice Incarnate to save the day once again, but Barry Allen may have found an unexpected ally as, Pariah, from the original Crisis on Infinite Earths returns. Writer - Joshua Williamson, Artist - Xermanico, Color Artist - Romulo Fajardo Jr, Letterer - Tom Napolitano   Batman Catwoman #7 -  This issue brings the incredibly talented Liam Sharp on for art duties while the pacing of the story begins to speed up. All the separate storylines are starting to come together just as Selina & Bruce's daughter is asking some difficult questions about the relationship between her mother and father. Questions we as readers may have been thinking ourselves.  Writer - Tom King, Artist - Liam Sharp, Letterer - Clayton Cowles   Suicide Squad: Get Joker #1 - It's a bit hard to saw just what the narrative is here. We saw Amanda Waller meet her demise last issue and the detonator for the neck bombs fall into the hands of the Joker. Rather than have that force the squad into action, they choose to stay back and wait for the Joker to come to them, but when he does, it's now entirely clear what he wants. Writer - Brian Azzarello, Artist - Alex Maleev, Color Artist - Matt Hollingsworth, Letterer - Jared K. Fletcher   Batman #112 - Fear State gets underway properly as Batman is able to escape from Scarecrow, but it's too late to stop the plans that have started to unfold. As Oracle informs Batman that all her systems have been compromised, he attempts to purge his system from the new fear chemicals the Scarecrow affected him with. Can Batman gather his Bat-Family in time to stop Scarecrow? And will it matter since Simon Saint and the Magistrate have started their maneuvering to take over Gotham City as well. Writer - James Tynion IV, Artist - Jorge Jimenez, Color Artist - Tomeu Morey, Letterer - Clayton Cowles   Crush & Lobo #4 - Maybe all it took for Crush to stop sulking and bemoaning her life was to end up in prison in place of her father. It certainly seems to have sharpened her concentration as she quickly devises not only a plan on how to be identified as her true self, but how to convince the warden to let her go and capture her father. There is a BIG showdown brewing and we can't wait to see father and daughter throw down!   Black Manta #1 - As Black Manta works to recover items stolen from him, we begin to see that powerful forces are at work. Does Manta have what it takes to harness these forces on his own? We've never seen him in the magical corner of the DCU before, but the power he craves may lead him in that direction. Writer - Chuck Brown, Artist - Valentine de Landro, Color Artist - Marissa Louise, Letterer - Clayton Cowles   Nice House On The Lake #4 - The inhabitants of the house have learned that anything they desire just about they desire can be theirs. In a way the fact that they have survived the end of the world, can have their hearts desire and live in a paradise could mean they are in heaven. However, this heaven can also be seen as a prison, they are certainly not free, they have lost loved ones and the final piece of the puzzle could also be seen as a blessing or a curse. Just check out the final page of the issue and then decide for yourself. Writer - James Tynion IV, Artist - Alvaro Martinez-Bueno, Color Artist - Jordie Bellaire, Letterer - Andworld Design

Jace welcomes comic creators Sina Grace and V Ken Marion to the show. The guys chat about their favorite Flash artists of all -time and why they are choosing them. There are many legendary names on everyone's lists and some surprises as well. What is really interesting is those surprises may have drawn very little Flash, but we certainly hope we see more Flash work from them in the future based on what pieces we have seen. Also the recent DC Round Robin online poll gave readers a chance to vote for what upcoming series they would like to see. The project Sina and V Ken pitched, an action-packed Kyle Raynor and Kilowog story mad it to the final four before losing out to a Robin project. The creators take a bit about the process of being involved with the poll and their hopes that the story eventually sees the light of day. It's a really fun episode filled with the joy of comics so we hope you all enjoy it.

Boys how the heck are you? Streaming News Twitch staff accused of tricking streamer into promoting brands  Twitch streamers are speaking out against the broadcasting platform for attempting to promote brands within individual chats. Content creators are slamming the practice, especially since they have no control of removing the adverts from their channel.  “Creators beware! Twitch staff is now going around donating spare change in an attempt to trick you into shouting out brands without proper compensation. Don't fall for it,” The Black Hokage said. Twitch partner and viral streamer ‘negaoryx' responded: “Which is great, because we can't moderate anything said by Twitch staff in chat, so we can't even purge it… great…” There is a function that lets people ‘/Clear' their channels messaging log, which lets “broadcasters and chat moderators to completely wipe the previous chat history.” This feature doesn't apply to messages from Twitch staff accounts. Ghost - Do you think this is a twitch strategy or a rogue employee? Twitch seems to have picked up most of Mixer's streamers  Streamers seem to have flocked to Twitch from Mixer after the Microsoft-owned live-streaming service announced plans to shut down in June. A new report shows that Twitch's share of hours broadcast on major live-streaming platforms jumped up by over 14 percentage points this quarter, taking away the nearly identical just over 14 percent market share that Mixer previously held. That Twitch won out is particularly notable because Facebook made a serious effort to pick up Mixer's streamers. It partnered with Mixer to help streamers get set up on the new platform, and Mixer started advertising Facebook Gaming during its final month online. Mixer's website still forwards to Facebook Gaming today. Evidently, that wasn't enough to convince Mixer streamers to pick yet another underdog in the streaming space. “Hours streamed” is a useful metric for determining where streamers are spending their time, but it's not necessarily the metric that matters. These platforms are primarily competing for viewership, and in that area, Twitch actually lost some ground. The report now puts Twitch at 63.6 percent market share, down from 67.6 percent. That should be particularly concerning because both YouTube and Facebook Gaming grew this quarter; Mixer made up only 1.4 percent of hours streamed, so these services are growing at a faster pace than Twitch. Tighe - Why do you think the closing of mixer is benefitting twitch more than the promoted facebook gaming? Twitch streamer Erobb mortified after being sent poop from viewer Streaming is one of the most interactive forms of entertainment, as viewers can influence their favorite content creator's experience live during a broadcast. However, this format is also extremely attractive to devious viewers looking to troll streamers in front of their audience. That is what happened to ‘erobb221' when he was sent a bag of poop. The Twitch personality sank into his chair and put his hand over his face after holding the disgusting fanmail. His partner told him, “I'm going to the post office and closing the PO box tomorrow!” before scolding the troll who sent it. “We have a baby who could get sick from your dirty poop in a bag!” Erobb's viewers continued to tell him to open the item up to see what it smelled like. “I'm not opening this bag, Brittany! I'm not.” Later on, he told his audience that he refused to open the bag because he does not “condone” the prank. Dainty - Could we market poop in a bag?Gaming News Amazon has canceled Crucible, its free-to-play multiplayer shooter that had already been returned to closed betaAmazon has officially canceled Crucible, its free-to-play multiplayer shooter. It's the end of a rocky journey for the game, which was first launched in May after years in development before being put back into closed beta in July. “We very much appreciate the way that our fans have rallied around our efforts, and we've loved seeing your responses to the changes we've made over the last few months, but ultimately we didn't see a healthy, sustainable future ahead [for] Crucible,” the Crucible team said in a blog post. If you're in the closed beta, you'll still be able to play the game in some form for a short while. The developers will be hosting a “a final playtest and community celebration” in the next few weeks, according to the blog. Once that's done, matchmaking will be disabled, but you'll be able to play custom games (which are expected to be available in the coming days) until 3PM ET on November 9th. Ghost - What do you think this says about the state of the Amazon titles if they are shutting this game down almost immediately? Epic judge permanently restrains Apple from blocking Unreal Engine, but won't force Fortnite Fortnite won't be coming back to the App Store any time soon. On Friday, Judge Yvonne Gonzales Rogers refused to grant Epic Games a preliminary injunction against Apple that would force the game developer to reinstate Fortnite on the App Store, while simultaneously granting an injunction that keeps Apple from retaliating against the Unreal Engine, which Epic also owns (PDF). In other words, we now have a permanent version of the temporary restraining order ruling from last month. Today's decision still prevents Apple from revoking Epic's developer tools in a way that could have harmed its broader business. “Epic Games and Apple are at liberty to litigate this action for the future of the digital frontier, but their dispute should not create havoc to bystanders. Thus, the public interest weighs overwhelmingly in favor of Unreal Engine and the Epic Affiliates,” said the judge, keeping Epic's Unreal Engine business from being harmed. Tighe - In this latest development we are seeing a balanced approach by the judge. How do you feel this plays out? Sony Confirms PS4 to PS5 Save Transfers, Reveals Incompatible PS4 Games  In a new PlayStation blog post, Sony has elaborated on the upcoming PS4/PS5 compatibility features. As revealed in the Support Page, save data can be transferred from PS4 to PS5, but it will be a developer decision. Cloud saves are also available for PS Plus members, and PS5 customers will find that their digital library will transfer once accounts are synched. Streaming PS4 games to PS5 or PS Now will also be available, but will not benefit from a performance boost some PS4 titles will get when played natively on the PS5. On another note Sony is also discontinuing store support for older systems. Dainty - How do you feel about this backwards compatibility issue?Entertainment News ‘Green Lantern' Series Gets Greenlight at HBO Max, Seth Grahame-Smith and Marc Guggenheim to Write  HBO Max has given out a series order to “Green Lantern,” Variety has learned. Based on the DC Comics property, the show was first announced as being in development last year. Plot details are now available for the first time, however. The show will depict the adventures of a multitude of Lanterns, including Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz and Alan Scott — Earth's first Green Lantern,  and many more. The series will also include fan favorites such as Sinestro and Kilowog, and will also introduce new heroes to the ranks of the Green Lantern Corps. HBO Max has ordered 10 one-hour episodes. The series will be co-written and executive produced by Seth Grahame-Smith and Marc Guggenheim, with Grahame-Smith serving as showrunner. Berlanti Productions will produce in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Berlanti is under a rich overall deal. Guggenheim has taken part in many dc properties including show runner on ARROW. Ghost - Were you a fan of the arrowverse on CW? I am excited to see dc take another run at GL since the Ryan reynolds  Netflix is testing a feature that lets you switch off its annoying "still watching?" pop-up Netflix is testing a feature that I am referring to as a “sick day function” — an option to turn off that pesky pop-up that appears after watching three episodes in a row of something to ask if you're still watching. The new feature looks like it's been in testing for a while in certain regions, and a Netflix spokesperson confirmed to The Verge today that the feature is still in testing mode. Over the recent weeks, however, excitement over the feature has hit Twitter and TikTok. It is exciting! A box appears that asks if you're still watching or if you want to “play without asking again.” Hypothetically, if you're in the middle of rewatching Supernatural and don't want Netflix to interrupt you every three episodes, hitting “play without asking again” will allow you to binge to your heart's content. Tighe - I often feel personally attacked by Netflix for this feature. How do you feel about it going away? Kingdom Come: Deliverance Being Developed as Live-Action Series or Film   Variety reports that the project will be a collaboration between Warhorse Studios and Wild Sheep Content, with Barmack and Warhorse CEO Martin Frývaldský producing the adaptation, which will take the form of either a live-action series or film. Barmack and Frývaldský are said to be in the process of reaching out to potential writers and directors to expand the creative team. Barmack spoke about the adaptable nature of video game properties and the ways in which they can deliver "amazing, non-U.S. worlds that are locally relevant, but with a regional and global popularity that streamers are looking for as they become more and more global." "It's especially interesting that video games with heavy narrative, like The Witcher and Kingdom Come: Deliverance, are uniquely adaptable, and local but global all at once," Barmack said, referencing Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which was developed by Warhorse Studios and published by Deep Silver for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Kingdom Come: Deliverance adaptation joins a growing slate of video game movies and TV series' that have been announced, planned, or are currently in production right now, including Amazon's Fallout TV series, Netflix's Cyberpunk 2077 anime, and Sega's live-action Yakuza movie, which is being produced by Erik Barmack, Roberto Grande and Joshua Long. Dainty - I really enjoyed the beginning of this game that I got to play. They went to painstaking lengths to make it historically accurate. How do you think this will transfer to the small screen?BOLD PREDICTIONS 1. Party Animals will be the next Fall Guys on full Release2. In this alternate universe tale Hal Jordan is a space miner who find finds a Green Lantern ring that's running out of power.Affiliate link included.Transcript below:It's a new spin on the classic story of the Green Lantern. Find out about it as we review Green Lantern: Earth One Volume One straight ahead. Welcome to the Classy Comics Podcast where we search for the best comics in the universe. From Boise, Idaho here is your host, Adam Graham. The Earth One novels were launched several years back by DC with Superman: Earth One, and they did actually three different volumes in that series written by J.M.S., the creator of Babylon Five. These stories take superhero origin stories of classic heroes including Batman, Wonder Woman, Teen Titans – and they try and tell their story in a fresh way. It's nice because as a reader you don't have to know a lot about the continuity of the character. If you've got a general idea of the character you can pick up these novels and get an idea of what they're about without having to know all the backstory. I will disclose that I did receive a free digital copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. So that said, this book takes the story of Hal Jordan. Instead of, as in the comic book, him being a test pilot he is actually a space miner who comes across the body of Abin Sur as well as his lantern, and he takes Abin Sur's ring and puts it on and he's able to wield the power ring, which is good because he's attacked by a manhunter robot. He fights the robot successfully but he ends up being propelled into space, he's rescued by Kilowog. In the Green Lantern world Kilowog is a pretty important character, he's a sage guide. However, in this story, he actually wants Hal Jordan to train him because he assumed that since Jordan had the ring and the ability to wield it he must know what's going on and be experienced at this, because what has happened is that the guardians of the universe have given up on the Green Lanterns and decided to use the manhunter robots instead, and used them to track down any who have the power ring. And apparently the power battery has been destroyed so their rings have limited power, and so they set off to find any other wielders of the ring to get them to team up to perhaps find some way to stop the manhunters.Overall this is a good story, it has a couple of things going for it. I think, first of all is the protagonist – the protagonist isn't quite as arrogant as how Jordan can be, because I like Hal Jordan but sometimes his self-confidence can be almost too far. Here I think it's a bit more balanced, but what he does have going for him is a great deal of determination to follow this quest, and I think that helps quite a bit. The art is good: it is a bit dark but it reflects some pretty dark places. It's not grim dark or overly gritty but you're dealing with backwater planets that are dirty and places in space that are a bit dirty, so yeah, it's going to have that look and it manages to capture it well. I do hope in subsequent volumes that we'll see a bit more of the beauty and variety that a Green Lantern story really can feature. The Manhunters are nice fodder[?] but not really fully developed villains, although there is some sense of some sort of treachery or division going on within the Guardians – which has been a pretty common feature of a lot of Green Lantern stories going back to the 1970s. While I think this story ends satisfactorily enough I did have some questions and some concerns that bothered me: one is pretty much anybody being able to wear the ring and the ring not recruiting anyone, where in the main DC Universe the ring is set forth and goes and chooses a successor. Here it seems to be whoever picks it up,

We got... two tickets to Oa(dice), pack your rings we leave tonight! Substitute Lanterns Reggie (@reggiereggie) and Chris (@acecomics) take you on a tour of one man's perceived failure when they (briefly) share the tragic tale of Emerald Twilight.  In the wake of Coast City's destruction, Hal Jordan ain't quite feeling himself... after an abuse of power gets the attention of the Guardians of the Universe, they decide it might be time to have a chat with the protector of Sector 2814... a decision that they will likely regret... should they live so long. In addition to covering the issues, our historians discuss the controversy both before... and after the story went to print.  What was Gerard Jones' original plan for the leadup to Green Lantern (vol.3) #50?  What does the A in H.E.A.T. stand for?  Are there any potential back-doors out of crossing Jordan...'s rubicon?  What the heck is a Malvolio?  Did the fellas use a lot of this information in their Green Lantern (vol.3) #51 episode???  Listen and find out! (Note: At around five minutes in, Chris posits that the Guardians may have been influenced by "The Signalmen"... which isn't even a thing!  He meant to say "Lensman"... and we aren't sure what that is either!) -- ***Originally aired in segment form during Weird Science DC Comics Podcast, Episode #82 (July 31, 2016) -- You can get a hold of us at weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com -- For our weekly writings check out www.weirdsciencedccomics.com For Chris' daily writings check out www.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com For our half-hearted blog/image depository check out www.weirdcomicshistory.blogspot.com - Currently featuring pictoral evidence of EVERY (to our knowledge) pre-Crisis appearance of the enigmatic Monitor! -- Visit us on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/CosmicTMillHistory and on Twitter @CosmicTMill -- Subscribe to the show on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play... wherever's most convenient! In Green Lantern Corps no. 206, 14-year-old space cop Arisia uses her godlike power ring to instantaneously mature herself into an adult so she can get some action from legendary space dawg Hal Jordan. It sets off a load of touchy questions about love, but luckily two guys in their 30s with the emotional maturity necessary to host a comic book podcast are here to draw moral lines for you. Meanwhile on Earth, Jenny Lynn Hayden is dealing with Kyle being away by giving out her phone number to some attractive Wall Street douch nozzle in hopes that she might be able to score while Kyle is out saving the universe. Yeah, I might be able to see what people were saying about these books getting under their skin. So, unless you want to get the song about Jenny's phone number stuck in your head for the rest of the day (Thank you, Tommy Tutone), I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and start to listening!Feedback for this show can be sent to: justoneoftheguyspodcast@gmail.comJust One Of The Guys is a proud member of the Two True Freaks! Everything has changed again...except that it really hasn't...all that much. Yes, I know that is a trite cliché, and I'm sorry I have to use it again, but things keep changing in the Green Lantern books, and so it also must on JUST ONE OF THE GUYS. This time out, in Green Lantern #165, the change is a new creative team in writer Ben Raab and artist Rick Burchett and a new story with Kyle attempting to recruit a new Green Lantern Corps in order to hunt down Amon Sur and the Black Circle. There's an introduction of a character that'll make his way into the current run of Green Lantern seeded in the book...and there's also some truly punny tales in there as well. Is the Ben Raab run going to lead to the downfall of the series like so many have told me? We'll just have to find out together. So unless you want Agraria-7...a farm planet (SIGH!!!)...to be invaded by giant space bugs, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and start to listening.Feedback for this show can be sent to: justoneoftheguyspodcast@gmail.comJust One Of The Guys is a proud member of the Two True Freaks! War, what is it good for?! Absolutely nothing! Actually for you DC Nationers war was good for something as it set up great installments of our favorite DC  related TV Shows and Comic Books for us to review here on Week 43 of the DC Nation Podcast. First off, the Green Lantern: The Animated Series episode "Babel", Dark Aya's war against the Universe began as she sent the Interceptor crash landing on an strange Alien planet where Hal, Razor and Kilowog had to make do without their power rings. Then in the Young Justice Invasion episode "War", the team goes to War literally as they battle to stop Mongul from destroying Earth with his Death Star, I mean WarWorld. Finally, the week was rounded out with Clark and Bart's war against the Dark Flash directing them to the home of a surprisingly gruff and grumpy Jay Garrick in Smallville Season 11 #33: Haunted Chapter 7. Along with some great discussions on our favorite heroes going to war, we have a special edition of Michael's DC Headlines News Section where we talk about a big announcement made by Geoff Johns regarding writing the current Green Lantern Comic Books and reveal the title as well as artwork for the next Smallville Season 11 story arc entitled "Argo" where Clark is going to be sent to the future! So get excited or Argo flip yourself.

It all changes here! And by that, I mean Green Lantern #50. Hal has finally turned a corner in his dealings with the loss of Coast City, and nothing is going to stop him. Not his friend Kilowog, not his enemy Sinestro, not even the Guardians of the Universe (although they are so ineffectual they couldn't stop a H.E.A.T. member from complaining about this issue). And over with Guy Gardner we get...THE NINETIES!!! Yes, in all it's over the top, big shoulderpadded, ridiculously armored, skimpy costumed glory. Plus, the thrilling reveal of just who the heck that Militia guy is! Prepare to be astounded, in a way that you probably won't be at all! In order to deal with the awesomeness/trauma of these issues, I've recruited not one, but two guest hosts to help me out with the show. First is Michael Bailey, host of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast as well as a metric ton of other shows, and second is Thomas Deja, host of Better in the Dark. On this week's ATA DC Nation section our discussion is all about the heroes of the DC Universe facing the consequences of what they've done under the influence of mind control or super villainy as this week's Green Lantern The Animated Series “Fear Itself” episode dealt with Kilowog turning on Hal and this week's Young Justice entitled  “Auld Acquaintance” had a Starro controlled Justice League turn on Aqualad and his team.  Even the heroes in this week's shorts had to face the results of their actions as Plastic Man turned on the TV itself and Robin in the course of defeating Mad Mod took The New Teen Titans to the future. Meanwhile in the Smallville Season 11 department,  things were good between Clark and Oliver as they performed a solid superhero team up but Chloe realized she might be making a mistake on the decision to move away from the Watchtower in Metropolis as a mysterious spacecraft, which Michael and I share a few crackpot theories about in this episode heads towards Earth.

Witnessing his city’s dark evolution, the Dark Knight completes his transformation into the city’s greatest defender. He faces multiple threats, including the seeming return of a serial killer called Holiday.
