Today, the host of the Conservative Connection, Andreas Cromack joined me to talk about dating as a Christian in our modern-day hookup culture, online dating, and some of the things that we have learned through trial and error. Because who would be more unqualified to talk about dating than two single people in their 20s? -------------------------------------------------------- Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire

Hey, Friends! Things have been pretty concerning over in Afghanistan, and while it's a good thing we are finally talking about this, these things aren't exactly new. Instead of focusing on any kind of commentary regarding the Taliban or political involvement in Afghanistan, I wanted to focus on what we as Christians should be doing in response to what has been happening. First, we should absolutely be praying for Christians who are suffering through persecution, praying that those who are the persecutors will come to know Jesus and follow Him, and we should be praying for those who are affected by all of this violence in the area that aren't yet Saved. Secondly, you can volunteer with refugees to welcome them into the United States or you can donate to organizations that are doing incredible work. Lastly, we should be memorizing Scripture (and this one hit me hard.) We have such a luxury to have the freedom to open our Bibles whenever we want, but it also needs to be written on our hearts. Many of our brothers and sisters who are suffering through persecution would give anything to have the freedom to read their Bibles in the open or have a conversation about Jesus, so we should not take these freedoms for granted or become complacent. Just because it doesn't feel urgent doesn't mean that it's not important. I also wanted to go over a few Scripture references that personally brought be hope through what has been happening, because our God is still powerful and knows how this all will end. -------------------------------------------------------- Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Hey, Friends! We finally have my best friend from college, Autumn, back again to talk about some of our experiences serving in college ministry. Even though this video is mostly critique, I personally made lifelong friends as a part of this ministry, and I honestly wouldn't change these experiences for the world. God used this group to grow my relationship with Jesus, make my faith my own, and learn how to serve others as an independent adult. That being said, looking back, there were a lot of things that did feel "off." Autumn and I talk about the downfall of college ministries who are falsely idolizing race and teaching Critical Race Theory along with the Gospel. Instead of just the pigment of our skin, we believe that cultural divides are the gap that needs to be bridged and approached with patience. Jesus' ministry united people of many different cultures and backgrounds, and we are called to do the same. Instead of idolizing "being diverse" in ministry, we need to best focus on our ministry targets and meet our yet-to-believe friends where they are. -------------------------------------------------------- TED Talk- How language shapes the way we think | Lera Boroditsky -------------------------------------------------------- Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Hey, Friends! Today, I'm sharing some of my *mild* experiences with controversy from my university as a Conservative Christian. I've been told by other Conservatives to expect difficulty and attacks of my character and intellect from people who are Left-leaning, however, I have also witnessed young Conservatives who use these same nasty tactics against others on the opposite end of the political spectrum. This means that this unfair way of fighting is more a result of human brokenness rather than belonging to a political side. I'm going to be sharing my experiences with my professors, peers, and responses that humbled and surprised me for the better. I almost lost my job and believe I was marked down unfairly for my beliefs in class, but I was also supported by the most unlikely of friends and professors. My experiences in this last year of college were mild compared to other Conservatives. Why? I'm not perfect at all, but I believe there were a few things that I tried that had a positive impact on my professors and classmates and made them more open to hearing diversity of thought. Minds are not changed through shaming or division, but they are instead changed by kindness and gentleness. The way we share what we have to say either reinforces or destroys the message that we are trying to convey. Conversation is not accomplished by just one person, but I believe that if we first take the humble place of kindness and love when talking about difficult topics, others will be more likely to listen.

My friend Andrew Mount is joining us again as a guest today! Andrew is currently a PragerFORCE influencer who has found a way through creating original Reels on Instagram to spread truth and tolerance. With his experience at NYU Tish and other Conservatives and Libertarians, Andrew has built friendships with many friends in both the Christian and LGBT communities. When Lil Nas X release his newest provocative music video followed by a Nike shoe line to worship Satan, Lil Nas X claimed that Christians had made him ashamed of his sexuality during childhood, and this music video and Nike shoe line were ways to finally get back at them. Andrew was quick to recognize and advocate that though Christians do't approve of homosexual relationships, not all Christians are quick to condemn and hate people who are involved in homosexual relationships, and Lil Nas X is not an accurate representation of the majority of the gay and lesbian community. Lil Nas X wanted to incite hate and revenge rather than sparking a conversation, but that doesn't mean that we've lost the opportunity to speak peacefully with each other. When I first saw what Lil Nas X had released, my heart broke for the way that he had been made to feel by the Christian community, but I was also shocked with his reaction. One of my friends had pointed out that we shouldn't be surprised when those who don't have a relationship with Jesus worship what is evil...because didn't that used to be us too? We should be reacting with patience and prayer and love. Andrew and I don't agree on some of the same things spiritually, but we do agree that listening to both sides and spending the time to grow in empathy is the best way from preventing more division. Not everyone is going to be happy to hear truth, but the way we share truth is just as important as the message. -------------------------------------------------------- Check out more of Andrew's content here: @andrewmount_ak -------------------------------------------------------- Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Hey, Friends! Jerel is back as a guest today to talk about the current movements to stop Anti-Asian Hate. Jerel honestly has one of the kindness hearts and genuinely optimistic souls to bring people joy and to lead people to Jesus, and I was blessed enough to meet him in middle school, and we have been pretty close throughout high school and college. Jerel was born in the Philippines and has spent most of his life in the United States, specifically in California. We both grew up in a liberally dominated state, but we both ended up doing our own research and were led to more Conservative ideals. Even though Jerel and I have been close for years, we have never really talked about race or even how his personal ethnic identity impacts his experience. I asked Jerel this week if he would be comfortable sharing his thoughts on the Anti-Asian Hate movements in the United States, and he was kind and vulnerable enough to share how he really feels. Jerel believes that these movements were founded on the good intentions of hate of violence based on race, but these specific movements and tactics are not the way that this problem should be solved. He believes that instead, we should be trying to unify over our hate for violence rather than our defense of specific race. Why? Because this hyper-focus in the media over advocacy for one race will eventually pass, and then that group of people will be forgotten. All people who are hurting should be advocated for. So shop at Asian owned businesses and donate to activist projects if you really want to, but what are some other ways that we can grow in our relationships with our community? Jerel believes that the best support is being available to listen and growing in genuine friendship to build bridges between communities. If people are really passionate about their culture, they will definitely want to share it with those who haven't yet experienced the joy from these traditions and experiences.

There's so many of us recovering from burnout during the season of life while working from home and feeling the pressure to stay busy. I definitely felt hypocritical recording and finishing this episode with everything else I had going on. I wanted to share some of the things that I found really helpful while recovering from burnout my sophomore year of college. Please remember that it is okay to have emotions, and please remember that we are saved by grace through Jesus, not our works. Please also remember that if these suggestions, don't work for you, you're not broken! We all process emotion and heal differently, and these suggestions are some things that personally helped me! 1. Please Rest- this is incredibly helpful to make sure that you have a time to physically and mentally take a break. This may feel uncomfortable at first, especially if you are used to constantly working, but resting is being a good steward of your time and energy. 2. Set Boundaries with People and Work and Communicate to Those Around You Realistic Things They Can Do to Help You- If you can, set strict work hours to help you find time to rest, and one of the things that really helped me was signing out of all of my work apps while I was resting. You also may have to set time boundaries with people in your life that are not essential. If this makes you feel guilty, I promise you're not alone. It's okay to set aside time when you just don't reply to people. They will hear back from you eventually. The people around you are also not mind readers, so you may have to communicate to them what they can realistically do to help support you. 3. In Worst Case Scenarios, Cut Back to Basics Until You Can Just Breathe- If you're feeling really overwhelmed, there may be a temporary season where you have to cut back to as few roles in your life as possible. If you're working and in school, you may have to just pick one to get under control for a while. This is only meant to be temporary, but your health comes first. You can't serve people as an empty shell of a human being. ------------------------------------------------------- Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Hey, Friends! I really didn't want to do a cliche Valentine's Day episode, but I feel like we either see two extremes. One extreme is to feel unhappy unless in a relationship, and the other is to focus on self-love in singleness. Yes, it can be difficult to celebrate singleness in our culture, but it's so important. Relationships aren't for our own benefit or to cure loneliness. Especially for Christian singles, we can forget that God uses every season. During our seasons of singleness, we have more time than in any other season. This time can be used to independently feed our relationship with Jesus, serve, and prepare ourselves for our future relationship (if that's God's will!) -------------------------------------------------------- Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Hey, Friends! It's been a crazy couple weeks. I wanted to get a little more political than usual, because we saw some pretty wild things happen. Black Lives Matter was nominated for the Nobel "Peace" Prize for actions that brought everything but peace and unity. AOC refused to work with Ted Cruz by falsely claiming that his party tried to have her killed. Vice President Kamala Harris is being idolized as the face of women empowerment as the first female vice president. Can women only be elected by cheating? What if we can be empowered in moral ways? Can women only be empowered and find worth by being elected into Executive office? How are Christians supposed to react to all of this? We just have to keep loving each other, spreading truth and hope, trusting Jesus, and we have to remember to be in the world while we are still here.
Our culture has been telling us to prioritize mental health, but we have also been encouraged to glorify exhaustion. Why does our culture do this? The comparison of social media and the increase of those who have plans after college creates the comparison between us to tempt us to over perform. Unless we're sleepless and exhausted, we can't possibly be doing our best, right? This actually is very selfish, because we place our own success, plans, and wants above serving and ministering to others, and in extreme cases, even before our relationship with Jesus. Want to hear from a recovering workaholic? Even though I'm unqualified, I have a few suggestions to share if you too are recovering from idolizing busyness.

Today, we have Birjan Crispin as a guest sharing his personal journey through faith and politics. Birjan was born in Bulgaria before being adopted by a family in Chicago, where he was raised with strong Conservative and Christian values. He is a graduate of Hope College and a member of the Heritage Foundation in their Leadership Academy where he is finishing his thesis on Behavioral Poverty in America. He will be releasing his first written book about his upbringing and biography and giving a TedTalk in Holland, Michigan in April. Birjan also touches on the intersection between environmentalism and the Biblical view of human relationship with Creation by comparing the current environmentalist approach, mostly supported by the political Left and the more Conservative approach to environmentalism supported by the political Right. Conservatives do care about preserving the environment in which we live, and Christians are concerned with being good stewards of God's creation. Facts and numbers have been twisted into putting our environmental agenda first and leaving our humanitarian issues to take a back seat, and Birjan helps bring clarity to this reality. Instead of worshipping Creation, we should be worshipping the Creator.
Hey, Friends. It's just me today, and I just wanted to share what I feel like may be obvious to some. The increasing censorship towards Conservatives will quickly spread to true, Jesus-loving Christians. Even with this rise in Cancel Culture, we have lived in a privileged community where we have not really faced violent persecution for loving Jesus and spreading His truth, but that may change in the United States during our lifetime. Now, more than ever, we have to stand firm by trusting that his is exactly what we have been told.

Today, we have a very special guest, Grayson Kembel, host of the College Kid Conversations podcast joining us today to share about the importance of surrendering our lives to Jesus and the rise of Leftism as a religion. Grayson is a PragerFORCE influencer and Conservative Christian content creator earning his degree at a university in Texas. Religions require conversation between a group that shares similar beliefs regarding life and morals. With the rise of many "morally led" conversations regarding politics, religion is required for these conversations. Even though Leftism has not been identified as a religion in the past, the encouraged and instructed courses of action inspired by Leftism have brought this set of beliefs to the light of religious scholars. The teachings of Leftism have been inspired by texts, such as "White Fragility," and this book alone has had a major impact on the teachings of Leftism, as in a very similar way to how devotional books are held in high regard by other monotheistic communities. The urgency of political policy to require more effort for Environmentalism by prompting a sense of urgency through fear that the entire world will eventually collapse. The importance placed on abortion seems to reflect eerie similarities to human sacrifice, as women are told they can only be successful if they abort pregnancies. -------------------------------------------------------- Go follow Grayson on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/graysonkembel/ Be sure to check out Grayson's podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/36eZXtUFH2m1WPNuWujZuR?si=ozuZ4ysmRH-Sv3T7GF3TYg -------------------------------------------------------- Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Hey, Friends! This episode has been one of my absolute favorites, because I learned so much that I'm excited to share with you! Sam shares what it's like to be a man in today's culture in context with his faith, redefines what it really means to be an Alpha male, and shares the importance of raising boys to become strong young men. Why are music videos of nearly naked women labeled as "empowerment," but being an accomplished conservative woman labeled as "oppressive?" How can we as women of all ages finally help bring change and true empowerment to the young ladies that have been placed in our lives? Hey, Friends! Are social justice and justice the same? If there's a difference, which one should we fight for? But wasn't Jesus a social justice advocate? Justice is the only way to eliminate oppression and brokenness. But how? When justice has a preceding adjective, it advocates for people to be treated on a favorable basis. If you are favored more by society, excuses and exceptions can be applied. We can all agree that stealing is wrong, but when take into consideration the motive for stealing, the conviction can become twisted. Twisted convictions rely on unstatic morals. In this context, the underlying moral is that racial-based violence is wrong, but the Black Lives Matter organization is currently being given a stage in our society and culture, so their race-based violence has been justified, and they have hardly suffered the consequences if the tables were turned (such as the KKK, which should never be excused or justified.) Christians believe that truth and morals are unchangeable, because God is unchanging. God is a God of justice. That means He sees all of His people as equals. Jesus paid the same price for us all, because all people are just as valuable and equal. The Pharisees were very involved in Social Justice by twisting the laws to fit what they wanted to be socially acceptable, but Jesus spoke for true justice. Social justice was the same force that allowed slavery to be justified. If it is socially acceptable, people can be treated differently. Justice condemns the unequal treatment of people, because all people live under the same authority and laws. Justice leads to equality. Social justice has its roots in inequality. So what do we do? We can have patient and kind conversations with those who want to advocate for social justice. Most social justice advocates are frustrated with violence, pain, and oppression, and we are too, but social justice is not the answer. Fighting back, yelling, or refusing to work together isn't the answer too. We all need to recognize that we want to fight injustice, so we can realize that we have similar motives to work together. ---------------------------------- PragerU's "Social Justice Isn't Justice"- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBX-9eUtwzU ---------------------------------- Pre-Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Hey, Friends! Today, we're talking about faith, politics, the order for churches to close, and the Black Lives Matter organization in context with what the Bible instructs us to do. Hey, Friends! Why defend pro-life? It seems like the majority of people that support pro-life have some kind of spiritual foundation, so does that mean that there are no scientific arguments to defend the unborn? It's actually the opposite! So what are some of the scientific and philosophical arguments to defend life? When debating or even having a conversation, we have to remember that this is a topic that can become very emotional. We should not shame or guilt those who have already had abortions done, because this does not lead to productive conversations. Instead, we should be empathetic, compassionate, and patient when we explain that we are just advocating for the right for life of all people rather than trying to condemn those who cannot undo past mistakes. In most abortion debates, the argument is framed around women's rights, but this isn't the true focus, which is the main problem. The focus is on the human rights of the fetus. This unborn child has been scientifically proven to have life begin at conception, and he or she is much more than just a “clump of cells.” It's impossible for two humans to make something that starts out as “non-human” and then suddenly turns into a human. It logically just doesn't make sense. Fetuses also have their own unique DNA set that differs from both his or her father and mother. From teacher Scott Klusendorf, most of the arguments for abortion revolve around four main subjects: Size, Level of Development, Environment, and Dependency. Arguments such as: “Because the fetus is small, not fully developed, lives in the uterus, and is not self-sufficient, it is not its own being.” Humans have value regardless of size, and we can use the example of a smaller child and a teenager. Level of development can also be proven to not determine the value of life again, by comparing a younger child to a fully developed adult. Environment also can be argued against. No person's value is determined based on where they live. For arguments of dependency, all children are dependent until adulthood, but they still have the right to life. Listen to this episode for more in depth reasoning to represent the right to life of unborn children! -------------------------------------------------------- Link to Scott Klusendorf's “Pro-Life Presentation”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E00DWvhlGE4 -------------------------------------------------------- Pre-Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Hey, Friends! It's just me again this week with some really wild news! Did you know that Cardi B has been one of the only people able to schedule Joe Biden for an interview? Hey, Friends! Have you never heard of intersectionality? A lot of people haven't, but if you have, you're probably a college student. Intersectionality teaches us to weigh the importance of each view each person has by how many oppressed groups one is placed in. But is this really fair? Why should we be silenced for being considered to be "the majority?" Does this really stop oppression, or does it keep it alive instead. Should we identify with the ways we have been mistreated, or is there maybe a better way? -------------------------------------------------------- Pre-Order Create Worship Inspire Merch! https://createworshipinspire.com/shop/ -------------------------------------------------------- Go check out our website for all podcast and video episodes and more! https://createworshipinspire.com/ -------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.patreon.com/createworshipinspire --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Hey, Friends! How are we supposed to share our faith with other people, especially with such a big difference such as age? Are you wondering how you can have an engaging conversation with a Gen Z'er about faith? Can this group of people only be reached over social media? If you're a Millennial or Gen Z'er, have you wondered how you can better connect and share your faith with younger people that are seeking Jesus? In the gospels, we can see Jesus taking the time to get to know people personally and meeting them where they are. This episode explains the differences between each generation of people and how to best approach having a conversation about faith when it comes to understanding each individual's culture and generational patterns. This is how we can truly meet people where they are.
Today, we have a very special guest, and one of the sweetest souls joining us for today's episode. Autumn was my roommate my freshmen year in college, and I am so grateful for all of her wisdom, bravery, and loyalty that she uses to continue to lead and inspire others. We discuss the dangers of Cancel Culture and the importance of free speech in light of the Constitution, but mostly how it relates to our faith. Cancel Culture is terrifying, because it fights our core belief that after one mistake, there is no ability to explain or correct it. This does not align with what Jesus teaches. We even talk about the super cool lettuce club on our university campus, and if you're a college student, and your school doesn't have a lettuce club, you should totally start one.

I'm super excited about this episode of Casual Friday! I was lucky enough to have Jerel, one of my close friends from high school, share his thoughts on frozen lizards, the grim reaper, and major league baseball. Hey, Friends! To say that this last week was crazy would be an understatement. How on earth are we supposed to be happy when it looks like everything is falling apart? Hey, Friends! So there has been a recent movement that has been inspired by Black Lives Matter on my university campus for more ethnic diversity in our staff, faculty, and student body. I can imagine with current events that this movement is not unique to just my campus, but I saw some pretty serious issues in their arguments and their call to action. Why does our campus have such a low percentage of black students if there is a higher percentage of black individuals and families in the surrounding city? Has the university systemically failed black students, or could there be another reason why our representation is so low? Have students been robbed of attending this university just because of race? Actually, if this campus movement gets their way, it may just be a result of significant racism: the thing that they are actually trying to fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please be sure to visit CreateWorshipInspire.com to find more podcast and video episodes, the link to our Patreon page, and the pre-order form to order CWI merch! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
