On today's Angela Box Show, Angela asks the question a lot of us are thinking: “Candace Owens, are you OK?”As we approach the first anniversary of Charlie Kirk's assassination (September 10, 2026), Angela talks about the grief so many felt when Charlie was murdered in front of the whole world and how this became a spiritual battle for the conservative movement.She then walks through how Candace Owens handled herself from day one:Floating theory after theory about who “really” killed Charlie – Israel, Erica Kirk, Turning Point, the security team, Zionists, deep state plots – with zero solid evidence and constantly shifting narratives.Fixating on Erica Kirk, Charlie's widow, and fueling an online pile‑on that painted Erica as everything from a plant to a Mossad asset, instead of a grieving wife and mother.Ignoring obvious facts about Tyler Robinson's politics and trans/leftist ties while insisting the texts, bullets, and evidence were “too pat” and must have been scripted by feds.Angela plays and reacts to:Jeremy Boreing's story about how he quietly helped Candace early on, paying her out of his own nonprofit because he believed she was gifted – only to receive one of the most vicious “lose my number” texts he'd ever seen, out of nowhere. A major red flag about her character and pattern of burning every bridge.Benny Johnson's courthouse recap, describing the preliminary hearing in Utah:The 4K rooftop video showing Tyler Robinson assembling the weapon, going prone, timing his shot, and running back.Charlie's widow Erica sobbing in the arms of Charlie's mother as the footage plays.Robinson sitting pale and twitching, staring at the floor, refusing to look at the family or the screen.The judge, prosecution, and even the courtroom reacting to what Angela calls overwhelming, devastating evidence of Robinson's guilt.Jack Posobiec's description of the same video and how precise and unmistakable the footage is – directly contradicting Candace's attempts to cast doubt on whether Robinson even did it.Angela also notes:Robinson's carved bullets (“hey fascist, catch”) and reported involvement with far‑left, trans‑aligned groups – the kind of evidence Candace continually downplays or ignores while accusing “Zionists” and others.The preliminary nature of the hearing – prosecutors have only “shown some ankle” and still produced powerful, detailed evidence tying Robinson to the assassination.Benny's appeal to Christians to defend and support the widow Erica and her family, instead of tormenting them with conspiracies.From there, Angela turns straight at Candace:Raises the pattern: Turning Point, PragerU, Daily Wire – every major organization Candace has been part of eventually gets blasted and accused once she exits. At some point the common denominator is you.Points out that Candace is now facing multiple defamation suits: Brigitte Macron in France, and Charlie's former security head in the U.S., after she repeatedly implied they were part of a murder plot.Argues that Candace's refusal to ever admit fault, apologize, or show remorse – even after seeing the preliminary evidence – is classic malignant narcissism, with a streak of sociopathy when it comes to wrecking lives for clicks.Angela also shares her own experience with regret and reconciliation, and asks if Candace, as a professing Christian, has:Any willingness to look in the mirror and admit she got this catastrophically wrong.Enough humility to publicly apologize to Erica Kirk, the Kirk family, Turning Point, Charlie's security team, Israel, and anyone else she casually accused.Enough spiritual honesty to confess the lies of omission and commission – the evidence she hid, the accusations she broadcast, the damage she did.Finally, Angela warns that Candace now faces a choice:Double down on the crazy train and burn down her own career, legacy, and family reputation.Or back up, repent, and ask forgiveness before the full trial evidence and court‑tested facts make her look even worse than she already does.

Presented by Amy Swearer Does the Constitution grant citizenship to anyone born in the United States? Even the children of people who've entered the country illegally? Or the children of foreign tourists who owe our country no allegiance? That's the question underlying the controversial issue of birthright citizenship. Many people today take it for granted that the answer is yes: if you're born on American soil, you're an American citizen. Period. End of issue. But is that what the Constitution says? Let's first look at the text of that document, specifically the Fourteenth Amendment. It reads, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States...” Case closed, right? Not so fast. The key phrase here is, “subject to the jurisdiction thereof…” — it creates a second condition for birthright citizenship beyond merely being born on American soil. But it also raises another question: who is born subject to U.S. jurisdiction? To answer that question, we need some historical context. The Fourteenth Amendment was ratified in 1868, just three years after the end of the Civil War. Its purpose was to rectify the infamous 1857 Supreme Court decision Dred Scott v. Sandford, in which the Court declared that black Americans were not and could never be citizens. Even after slavery was abolished in 1865, Dred Scott technically remained the law of the land. Black Americans were left in limbo—they were no longer slaves, but they still were not citizens. The Fourteenth Amendment resolved the issue, once and for all. These newly freed slaves and their descendants were certainly born “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States. This had been their home for generations. If they were not American citizens, to which other nation did they still belong? So while the Fourteenth Amendment resolved the issue as it related to race, its authors would have been shocked to learn that we now interpret these words to make citizens of virtually anyone born on U.S. soil, under all circumstances. As Yale Law Professor William C. Robinson explained in his 1875 legal treatise, the Fourteenth Amendment grants citizenship only to those “born within the jurisdiction and allegiance of the United States”—a condition that requires, at minimum, lawful permanent residence in this country. This was also the original understanding of the federal government. In 1885, for example, the State Department rejected the citizenship claim of a man named Richard Greisser. Yes, Greisser had been born in Ohio eighteen years earlier, but his German parents never intended to stay in the United States. They returned with their son to Germany shortly after his birth. Because Greisser's parents did not owe the United States political allegiance, their son wasn't born subject to its jurisdiction, at least not within the meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment's citizenship clause. Similarly, in 1890, the Justice Department considered the citizenship claim of a child born to one Mary Devereaux, a pregnant Irish woman being held on a ship in New York Harbor. While awaiting immigration approval, Devereaux left the ship for medical treatment and subsequently gave birth in a New York hospital. Authorities later denied her immigration application. Because Devereaux wasn't eligible for lawful admission to the U.S., her U.S.-born daughter was not recognized as a U.S. citizen. Both mother and child were sent back to Ireland. The Supreme Court addressed the question of birthright citizenship in the 1898 case of United States v. Wong Kim Ark. Wong was born and raised in San Francisco, the son of Chinese immigrants. In 1895, after a short trip to China, Wong returned to the U.S., only to be detained by authorities and threatened with deportation. Wong sued, arguing that he was an American citizen by birth. For Students: http://l.prageru.com/29SgPaX JOIN our Educators Network! http://l.prageru.com/2c8vsff Script: Years ago, I interviewed Kweisi Mfume, then the president of the NAACP. “As between the presence of white racism and the absence of black fathers,” I asked, “Which poses the bigger threat to the black community?” Without missing a beat, he said, “The absence of black fathers.” It was President Barack Obama who said, "We all know the statistics. That children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of school and 20 times more likely to end up in prison.” The Journal of Research on Adolescence confirms that even after controlling for varying levels of household income, kids in father-absent homes are more likely to end up in jail. And kids who never had a father in the house are the most likely to wind up behind bars. In 1960, 5 percent of America's children entered the world without a mother and father married to each other. By 1980 it was 18 percent, by 2000 it had risen to 33 percent, and fifteen years later, the number reached 41 percent. For blacks, even during slavery when marriage for slaves was illegal, black children were more likely than today to be raised by both their mother and father. Economist Walter Williams has written that, according to census data, from 1890 to 1940, a black child was more likely to grow up with married parents than a white child. For blacks, out-of-wedlock births have gone from 25 percent in 1965 to 73 percent in 2015. For whites, from less than 5 percent to over 25 percent. And for Hispanics, out-of-wedlock births have risen to 53 percent. What happened to fathers? The answer is found in a basic law of economics: If you subsidize undesirable behavior you will get more undesirable behavior. In 1949, the nation's poverty rate was 34 percent. By 1965, it was cut in half, to 17 percent -- all before President Lyndon Johnson's so-called War on Poverty. But after that war began in 1965, poverty began to flat line. From 1965 until now, the government has spent over $20 trillion to fight poverty. The poverty rate has remained unchanged, but the relationship between poor men and women has changed – dramatically. That's because our generous welfare system allows women, in effect, to marry the government. And this makes it all too easy for men to abandon their traditional moral and financial responsibilities. Psychologists call such dependency "learned helplessness." How do we know that the welfare state creates disincentives that hurt the very people we are trying to help? They tell us. In 1985, the Los Angeles Times asked both the poor and the non-poor whether poor women "often" have children to get additional benefits. Most of the non-poor respondents said no. However, 64 percent of poor respondents said yes. Now, who do you think is in a better position to know? Tupac Shakur, the late rapper, once said: "I know for a fact that had I had a father, I'd have some discipline. I'd have more confidence."
