How the buzz of a four-day work week nationally promotes productivity and Queen Naomi Osaka's brave stand for boundaries closed out May. Maybe Mental health in Corporate America needs to be more than an internal communication newsletter.
On this week's Floor, I vent about leadership not talking to their folks on the ground and being cautious of support that doesn't yield change. Its too easy to tell your people you see them and hear them and not rock the boat above you to make changes. Just another day in the world of Product Management.
A year into Corporate Courtney and I get a real-life scenario to remind me of why I started a podcast for Black Women in Corporate America. The Microaggressions I have the "opportunity" to deal with in a simple interview. LaBria, Lakeisha I feel for you!

Share your stories with me:TheCorporateCourtneyPodcast@gmail.comTwitter/Instagram: @_CorporateCourt

This week on Floor 21, I discuss my career journey. How I little black girl who struggles with math found success in the IT world. When we have these closed views of what careers are we struggle to fit in boxes that aren't built for us we struggle to see the possibilities.
This week on Corporate Courtney, I discuss work from home work-life balance and how easy it has been to get into an unhealthy cycle of odd hour work. From early morning, lunch, or after-hour meetings how do we create guard rails to protect ourselves from burnout.
Welcome to Floor 19! This week I cover my feelings on the lack of indictments for Breonna Taylor's murders and Charles Scharf, CEO of Wells Fargo, and his ineptitude. If Wells Fargo believes there's a lack of black talent I think Dreamville may have been on to something. Song Credit: DreamvilleWells Fargo ft. JID, EarthGang, Buddy &Guapdad 4000
"Don't Save Her She Don't Wanna Be Saved" applies to wayyy more than sponsoring women. On Floor 18, I'm talking about the frustrating fact that you can provide great ideas or callout potential problems and they get ignored.
What's next? What are you doing next? You've done great here but that isn't enough...or is it? I talk about the perception of the next best thing. When does our need to look like were achieving begin to stump our ability to relish in the greatness we are doing now or impeding starting something you genuinely want to try.
Yes, we could all die by melted ice caps but do you really want to bank on that before retirement. This week I'm talking 401ks and Employee Stock Purchase Plans. I also have my very first guest, money aficionado, Robert Johnson. *Disclaimer between student loans, global warming, and lifestyles this advice may not be for you. Always consult a financial planner or investment banker before making money moves*
Feel like you aren't seen as providing value in the workplace? Not feeling good enough for the next rung on the corporate ladder? Fear everyone around is going to figure out you're a fraud? Have a Twix, you're not yourself when you suffer from Imposter Syndrome. I walk through you what Imposter Syndrome really is and how it affects men, women but (especially), Black Women.
I wanted to take a moment to address the unarmed shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha Wisconsin by the police. Black Men I love you and support you. Working while Black isn't easy during incidents like this are rough but, your feelings are valid. Take mental days as you need.
Can Normani come and be my motivation at work because I am sorely out of it? This week on Floor 14 I'm talking about the lack of motivation at work and running on the never-ending hamster wheel. When there is just no progress being made but, you've still been giving it your all.
This week is not floor 13. I repeat NOT Floor 13. We're just having a little skip-level and talking about work personas and the sharing of social media accounts with others. I even breakdown a time where CJ slipped into the office as opposed to Corporate Courtney.
This week I'm talking disrespect in the workplace and managing up. As any decent Bomanizer stan (Bojito) knows you can be so disrespected you decide to pass away. I, however, can't just die at work. So handling unfortunate situations in a professional manner is not easy but possible. I'll walk you through managing superiors in a tactful way and handling disrespect from authority figures. I also feel myself a little too hard but forgive me I'm stressed.
To the Left to the left everything you own and the company stapler to the left. Do you know when to give that two-week notice? This week I'm talking about that fine line between difficult tasks and environments that need you to chuck up the deuces.
Tenth Floor Y'all!!!! I can't believe we made it and thank you to everyone who has hopped on the elevator with me. From onboarding to floor 10. Were doing the damn thing! This week I'm talking about elevation and separation. When progressing differently in a corporate setting. What it looks like to begin flourishing and what it feels like to be outpaced. Let me know your thoughts at the TheCorporateCourtneyPodcast@gmail.com or on social media at _CorporateCourt
Floor 9 and we're oh so fine! Cheesy, I know! This week I'm talking about my experience in negotiating and talking money in the workplace. How can we break that glass ceiling if we don't even bring an icepick? You can't be young, black, and getting "It", if you don't at least ask for "it".
To be young, Black, and gettin it. That’s the dream isn’t it? So why is it so odd when your the first in your crew to make some real change? Why do we play coy about gettin this paper? On the 8th floor I get into money and down playing success.
To be twentysomething in Corporate America. What a time. You're there to provide fresh new perspectives and ridiculed for your lack of Sally Jessy Raphael trivia. I guess its just a coming of age process but it can "grind your gears"
"You catch more flies with sugar than with vinegar". Well, I don't know about you but I'm not in the business of catching flies. I'm here to make money. Massaging egos and placating people at work is not my strong suit and I don't love having to deal. This week I discuss the veiled approach to the angry black woman trope and the tiring part of wanting to get shit done as a black woman with authority in corporate America.
Do you have co-workers who like to connect with you on a personal level by coming to you as a self-proclaimed "ally"? This floor is all about "allies" who play the victim when the time suits them and can't see the stereotypes that they influence in the workplace. As the good sis Amanda Seales puts it "There are White people and people who happen to be white".
Welcome to The Fourth Floor. This week we're still managing with the burden of being black during a crisis. As the Protest, riots, and looting occur in this nation black women in the workplace are burdened with two extremes: Pretending nothing is happening and mouth-piece for the black plight.
Tired is an understatement. Carrying the weight of your race into the office place and being the representative on all things black is tiring. And after this past week, I'm beyond tired. And on the third floor, I'm just venting about it.
In the almighty words of Solange, "Don't Touch My Hair." And by golly you sure as hell shouldn't touch mine. I'm talking hair in the workplace this week and the anxiety black women have with a new do.
Welcome to the first floor! A black girl, her fro, and post-grad depression walk into a salon... and out comes a podcast. We'll get into how this Corporate Black Girl podcast came to be.
