If we want to increase the intimacy and connection in our relationships, it is imperative that we show up as a safe person who creates a safe space. Often, the patterns we have established in our relationships are the opposite of safe, they cause our primitive brains to go into hyper protective mode and want to run away emotionally and physically. But when we can learn to show up safe, time and time again, we can create a space where our spouse may be willing to start engaging in vulnerability, in the openness and honesty necessary to deepen our engagement. This week we are discussing ‘What If I Need to Rock the Boat?' We all know what instability feels like, and many of us don't want to rock the boat even more if we don't have to. But, sometimes we get stuck in what feels comfortable and we recognize things aren't as they should be; they're not healthy and not moving us forward. How do we lean into rocking the boat in a sustainable, positive, and purposeful way? Today, we cover three main points: 1) Normalizing and demystifying instability. 2) Why instability can lead to stability. 3) How to purposefully disrupt your life. The Living End are one of the few bands ever to successfully negotiate the chasm between punk rock sensibilities and mainstream success without losing their integrity.Their 1997 EP Prisoner Of Society/Second Solution quickly became the barometer for musical uprising amongst the youth of the world, catapulting the band into the spotlight, from which they have never strayed far.Last year saw The Living End celebrate the 25th anniversary of that breakthrough EP, with the band having all but separated themselves from that chaotic side to their nature without ever losing the trust and respect of their fans.2024 has seen the band perform at a selection of different festivals, all with vastly different demographics yet united by one cause.Music.After wowing crowds at the Mundi Mundi Bash recently, The Living End next set their sights on the open sea as part of Rock The Boat 2024 and now find themselves closing out the year as part of Good Things 2024. It is a fitting reward for effort for the hard rocking trio, with frontman Chris Cheney understandably content when HEAVY caught up with him ahead of the first show.Good Things Festival hits Sydney on December 7 before moving to Brisbane for the final show on December 8.Tickets and more details: https://goodthingsfestival.com.au/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

Welcome to a candid convo from March 2024 exploring the complexities of being independent. Lars Peter Nissen hosts Meg Sattler, Ed Schenkenberg, and Adelina Kamal in the studio. When can you truly claim to be independent and what does it really mean when you're submerged into a world full of political shenanigans and blurred ethical lines?Listen in as the guests struggle to find the right balance between standing firm in their resolve for change and getting entangled in the day to day business of humanitarian action. When does collaboration become complicity, and how do you avoid barking yourself out of the conversation altogether? This episode is more than a call to listen – it's a call to ACTION, to expose the nonsense, to challenge the norms, and dare to envision a humanitarian practice where independence isn't just a strategic ideal; it's a vital, lived experience.

Many of us were raised to believe that not rocking the boat was the best bet for happy relationships, and yet, from my experience, not rocking the boat created an unequal relationship that caused feelings of either resentment or contempt in my relationship, both of which were very destructive. Rocking the boat is not only necessary, but also an important part in any healthy relationship, and yet we also want to make sure we are sending gentle waves and not a huge tsunami. So how do we do that? Listen in and see!

Our head of corporate credit research dives into the question of correlation and market volatility, and explains why stock indices can remain stable despite a certain level of turmoil, as we have seen recently in Europe.----- Transcript -----Welcome to Thoughts on the Market. I'm Andrew Sheets, head of Corporate Credit Research at Morgan Stanley. Along with my colleagues bringing you a variety of perspectives, today I'll be talking about correlations, and why they are currently so important to markets being calmer than they would otherwise be. It's Thursday, June 20th at 2pm in London.Imagine you're on a boat, maybe looking for sea life. People are milling around the deck, watching the vessel ripple through the waves. Suddenly someone spotsa whale, and everybody runs to port. The whale swims under the boat, and everybody now runs to starboard. The boat rocks significantly. But imagine the same scenario where marine life is popping up on both sides of the vessel. You and your fellow passengers are all now running past each other in both directions. The movements balance out. The boat is pretty stable. Believe it or not, this is how the volatility in the stock indices work. The individual passengers can be thought of as individual stocks, and how much they're each moving around can be thought of as each stock's volatility. The boat is the overall index – say, the S&P 500, the EuroStoxx 50, or an index of corporate bonds. When everybody on the boat moves together, what we'd call a high correlation environment, you'd get a lot of rocking, or volatility, at the index level. But when people are moving in opposite directions, moving past each other; you can still have a lot of running, or individual vol – but the market, or the boat, will appear much more calm. That is exactly what's been happening, especially last week. Stocks within the S&P 500 are moving with unusual independence from each other, running to opposite sides of the boat, with the lowest such correlation in almost 20 years. That is a big reason why, despite all the volatile headlines out of Europe, and more stocks falling than rising in the US, the overall market has been surprisingly calm – and going up. Even in Europe, this phenomenon of low correlation has really helped. That volatility I mentioned relates to upcoming elections in France, which led the difference between French and German bond yields to jump to their highest level in more than a decade. But because this spread of France to Germany moved in the opposite direction as overall French yields, the overall result for French government bonds was not much. Last week, despite all the apparent ruckus, the yield on French government bonds was basically unchanged. Markets have been calmer than you would usually expect them to be. These correlations are a big reason why. We think they suggest a still healthy dynamic where markets are differentiating between different types of risks. To go back to our original analogy, there is still plenty of sea life out there for the market to look at. But these correlations are also worth watching, were they to rise significantly. If one thing were to dominate the focus and lead everybody to run to the same side of the boat, overall market volatility could rise surprisingly fast. It's something, you could say, that we're on the lookout for. Thanks for listening. If you enjoy the podcast, please leave us a review, wherever you listen, and share Thoughts on the Market with a friend or colleague today.
All In Entertainment Group ,Well Known , Song SpeakReady for an AWESOME NEW Timeless Eclectic Music DuoThey were on separate paths and things just weren't coming together. The music wasn't hittin' like they both believed it could. B3E (aka Evan Bendel) was about to walk out the door on music and leave it behind, getting on a new path and preparing for a new career in law enforcement. But the opportunity to continue to do what he loves and clearly was born to do happened when they teamed up. While Evan has always been called “Bee” because of his last name, he flipped this 3rd time's a charm destiny moment, put it in his name and invested his supreme vocals into this new iteration of his skills. The story for JOANZ (aka Kenzell Jones), who was just stepping into the game–finding his voice and trying to find his focus and his fire–is that he's a wordsmith who grabbed his moniker from the motion picture “Love Jones” as a play on his musicality. That also includes his ability to play several instruments (bass, guitar, drums and saxophone). JOANZ had lyrics and needed something else, a voice that could punch up and push back on his verses with lyrics that helped the music catch fire. As fate would have it, a mutual friend introduced the duo, thinking it was for one song, one time only. But their convergence brought magic, just the magic that they both needed to forge ahead, so 2 solo artists put ego and pride aside and let the music ride. “We got into the studio and it was on and poppin' since then.” The song that brought the duo together hasn't even been released, but it did its job in bringing together these 2 talents to make music and set their sights on stardomInspired by everyone from Al Green, Michael Jackson, Commodores, Bee Gees, Earth, Wind & Fire and Sam Cooke to Roger Troutman, OutKast, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne, with both artists heavily influenced by Michael Jackson, these young music makers know what a great duo can do when they put their minds and their melodies to work! With a sound and solid respect for music that covers genres and generations, B3E sings for his soul while Joanz spits lyrics that include a Luther Vandross reference on “IN MY EAR,” while “NO BREAKS” pays homage to Bobby Brown's “Every Little Step,” but with a spin on it that talks about needing to take a step back and away.JOANZ + B3E is a new era in music! The familiar meets the ferocious! The melodic “SONG SPEAK” is sinewy and sensual, but from a man's perspective, it is unexpectedly vulnerable while playfully paying tribute to Aaliyah's “Rock The Boat,” showcasing the vocal skills of B3E and the floetry of JOANZ. The opposite is true of “WELL KNOWN,” with the hook “I ain't really with the handouts and I don't wanna fit in I'd rather stand out!” It's a declaration that tells you that they didn't come into the game to just have material success. They use vocals and verses to talk about hard work, commitment to their art and their audacity in believing that it's their time! “N***s ain't been where I be, seen what I seen. (Now they) all on me (like they) all know me.” Audacity goes to another level with “NOTICE ME,” their newest joint, telling the story of working hard as a young father (B3E) and a young cat with something to prove to the streets and to him. “It's just me, I ain't have a Plan B!” © 2024 All Rights Reserved© 2024 Building Abundant Success!!Join Me on ~ iHeart Media @ https://tinyurl.com/iHeartBASSpot Me on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/yxuy23baAmazon ~ https://tinyurl.com/AmzBASAudacy: https://tinyurl.com/BASAud

There will be seasons when God will call you to move to a new level. When you make that move, you are "rocking the boat." There will always be people at your present level who will try to hinder you from moving to the next level. You have played a specific role in their lives, but now that it is time to move to the next level, they cannot understand why you could dare "Rock the Boat." Often, these people may take action to discourage you. Dr. Ray discusses this principle, how to deal with it, how to move forward, and what God has called you to do. What a tumultuous year 1990 had been for the Hit Factory — and the final four singles produced by Stock Aitken Waterman that year certainly highlight that. What should have been Lonnie Gordon's second SAW-produced single, "If I Have To Stand Alone", came out as her third, but despite being in the same vein as top 5 hit "Happenin' All Over Again", it under-performed on the UK chart and the If I Have To Stand Alone album wasn't even released there at the time. Lonnie joins us for one final time to discuss the disappointment she faced as a result and the US dance hits she recorded with Black Box in the following years. New girl group Delage was launched in December 1990 with a remake of disco classic "Rock The Boat" — and Karina and Emma from the group reveal how the project came about. Meanwhile, one final single was belatedly released from Donna Summer's Another Place And Time album. Mike Stock tells us about the lyrical change Donna requested for "Breakaway" and the late singer's husband and manager, Bruce Sudano, talks about the song's success in South America and why Donna ultimately decided not to return to PWL. And we take a look at "Send A Prayer (To Heaven)" by Errol Brown — an often-forgotten Christmas song by the late former singer of Hot Chocolate.Subscribe for bonus material at chartbeats.com.au/sawTwitter: @ChartBeatsAU, @MrMattDenbyInstagram: @chartbeatsauFacebook: Chart Beats: A Journey Through PopEmail: chartbeats.au@gmail.com
