Let Us Know What You Think of the Show!Date: July 23, 2025Name of podcast: Backstage Pass RadioS9: E2 - Mary Kutter - From Bootlegging to NashvilleSHOW SUMMARY:What does it take to stand out in the crowded Nashville music scene? For Mary Kutter, it's about being the splash of red paint on a wall of white—creating music that cuts through the noise with authenticity and purpose. Born and raised just outside the Bourbon Capital of the World in Springfield, Kentucky, Mary's journey to Nashville began with an unexpected opportunity hosting a radio variety show. This serendipitous break led to a life-changing connection with legendary songwriter Kim Williams, who recognized something special in the young artist and opened doors that would transform her career. As Mary shares, "That job offer changed my life." When the pandemic shut down the music industry in 2020, Mary faced a pivotal moment. Rather than stepping back, she doubled down on her craft, writing seven days a week, two to three sessions daily, for nearly two years straight. This relentless work ethic yielded her first gold record and substantial placements in movies and commercials—all created through Zoom sessions with collaborators she couldn't meet in person. What truly distinguishes Mary's artistry is her willingness to explore complex, personal narratives. Her viral hit "Devil Wore a Lab Coat" confronts the pharmaceutical industry's role in the opioid epidemic that devastated her Kentucky hometown. "Devil's Money" tells the remarkable true story of her bootlegger great-grandfather who used his illicit earnings to build a church. These songs resonate deeply because they speak truth, regardless of commercial appeal. From unexpected collaborations with rapper Project Pat to her disciplined creative routine beginning at 5 AM daily, Mary embodies the modern artist who forges her own path. Her approach to songwriting combines raw authenticity with strategic savvy, sharing snippets on social media that connect so deeply with fans they're singing unreleased verses at her shows. As Mary prepares for headline performances, festival appearances, and new music releases, her advice to aspiring artists remains straightforward: "Put your blinders on and keep the pedal down." Through every challenge and triumph, she's remained true to herself—creating music that matters and leaving an indelible mark on the Nashville landscape, one honest song at a time. This week, we're joined by the one and only JonnyMac - Jon McCallon. We begin with getting him caught up on the last 2 years of the podcast, and come off the rails quickly with talk off Bill Cosby, Pete Rose, and professional wrestling. But hang in there folks, the 2nd half is a great discussion of the Holy Spirit's role in the New Testament and in our lives today. Exploring the Divine Intersection of Faith and Modernity In this episode of the 'Divinely Uninspired' podcast, special guest JonnyMac joins Penny, Paul, and Jeremy for an in-depth conversation. They kick off with lighthearted banter about Project Pat's unexpected pivot to Christian rap and his Oscar win before jumping into a rich discussion about the complexities of K-12 education, the significance of the Holy Spirit, and the fascinating process of biblical canonization. As they explore the critical role of the apostles' writings and the ongoing influence of the Holy Spirit, the conversation provides listeners with both theological insights and practical applications. Whether you're a seasoned believer or new to faith, this episode offers a compelling look at the foundational elements that shape Christian doctrine and practice. 00:00 Introduction and Welcome 00:23 Project Pat and Oscar Wins 00:51 Podcast Guests and Technical Issues 01:18 Library Setting and Walkup Songs 02:46 Music Discussions: Dark Lyrics and Pumped Up Kicks 03:34 Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Music Preferences 05:15 Jelly Roll and Post Malone 07:12 Comedy and Controversial Figures 12:40 Wrestling Stories and OVW 22:27 Coffee Preferences and Recommendations 26:19 Netflix's 'Wilted' and Rebooting Blossom 27:01 Calculator Sales Pitch Disappointment 27:54 AI in Homework and Education 29:47 Gas Station Adventures and Preferences 31:50 Group Chat Naming Confusion 36:00 What Does Jeremy...and Jon think? 56:05 The Importance of the Holy Spirit 01:01:00 Concluding Thoughts and Future Questions

In a perfect world for me, the all natural gluten free Slowed & Throwed episode would solely consist of Paul Wall, Mike Jones, DJ Screw, Project Pat and Z-Ro. Maybe a cameo of Lil Wayne's 'Me and My Drank'. BUT this Slowed & Throwed, in particular, revolves around the drowned out melancholy R&B sound of my young adulthood. In the car alone I'd look up slowed reverb versions of my favorite songs and have the best playlists. So, some of these that I just blasted, I've been listening to alone for over 10 years now. Beautiful and nostalgic every time. Some not featured in this episode are actually my favorites.. The Birds Part 2 slowed is one of the best critical thinking masterpieces I've ever encountered. If you need to make a hard decision, or find yourself at a fork in the road, put on The Birds Part 2 and the answer to your dilemma might just broadside your earhole and knock your socks off. Hope someone out there in this ever-expansive universe enjoyed the episode. Until next time, I remain your loyal local internet disc jockeyThe Polka King of the Midwest,DJ Witwickatron

The boys bring the football party to the early morning once again as they review a crazy Week 10 in the NFL. Then they have all your picks for investments today and tomorrow. The league's most competitive yet one-sided rivalry continues as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs battle Project Josh Allen and the Bills. Another one-sided struggle takes place as Dr. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens go against a team that has contained him, the Steelers. On Monday, C.J. Stroud and the Texans try to take advantage of a wounded state rival as they visit Cooper Rush and the Cowboys. Music: "Power Shot" by Eugenemeyers

In this TruVuePodcast review, we delve into the gripping short film APT 17—a story that unfolds within the walls of a small apartment in the heart of the city. Directed by Diego Vicentini, this 2019 short film explores the lives of urban dwellers as they navigate the complexities of modern life. APT 17 isn't about jump scares or haunted spaces; it's a real-life drama that taps into the struggles of everyday people, dealing with themes of isolation, urban decay, and the challenges of city living. We couldn't help but draw a parallel to Project Pat's "Don't Save Her," where the film's characters find themselves in situations that are hard to break free from—reminding us that sometimes, trying to save someone (or something) isn't always the best course of action. We break down the narrative, the performances, and the powerful message behind this short, all while keeping things lively with our signature barbershop banter. APT 17 serves up a slice of life that many can relate to, making it a must-watch for fans of urban dramas that hit close to home. Whether you're here for the deep discussions or just the laughs, we've got you covered. Welcome Back to Season 3!! We wanted to kick off 2024 with a bang. Especially this marking our 50th EPISODE! To say we were exciting to drop this episode is an understatement. We have been listening to this individuals music for a long time now. The influence him and his group have 20+ years in music is astounding. From 75+ guest appearances, multiple platinum and gold records, to even having a few songs go TikTok viral... We got to sit down with the North Memphis, Tennessee legend, Project Pat. When someone first makes it big, you might they want to purchase some jewelry, a nice car or even some new drip.@projectpat was in the market for a machine gun at the time since Memphis was on high alert. He shares “back in those days, people were kidnapping drug dealers mothers”. There was no way were going to pass up asking about the Oscar moment when Three Six Mafia took home the award for Best Original Song with It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp which was showcased in the film Hustle and Flow. It sounds like the boys “couldn't believe it” and did not think it was going to happen for them. They didn't even know that the song was going to be considered or that they would get asked to perform. If you're a fan of Project Pat and current hip-hop, you can easily here hear the influence from Pat and Three Six Mafia. From samples to old verses being reused and new features, Pat has had the opportunity to work with some of hip-hops biggest names. Knife Talk with Drake and 21Savage is a collaboration that we all would not know we needed. We were unaware of how tight his bond is with Metro Boomin. Maybe an upcoming project with Metro in the works?? He also shared with us that him and Pimp C were going to be working on a collaboration project before he had passed away. That would have been something for the ages!
