About two months ago, I got a text about my dive into the world of vinyl records. It was DJ Piehowski (@djpiehowski), and the ripple effects of that text exchange are still being felt today. Because vinyls have become such a part of my Sundays lately, it only made sense to find out how DJ spends his ideal Sundays. From big breakfasts to Mac Miller to an early evening 18, this is how it's done. We all seek external happiness. But there comes a point where we have to realize when enough is enough. I am NOT saying we will be perfect (I struggle often with this myself and have a group of good friends to remind me when I am doing it) - but I AM saying we have to try to do better. Try to recognize it earlier.
Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of being invited to host our first live show from Nordstrom's New York City flagship at 57th & Broadway with special guest and Nordstrom Men's Fashion Director, Jian DeLeon. With about 130 guests joining us, we sat down to discuss Jian's career path that lead him to Nordstrom, where he sees the world of men's fashion heading, trend forecasting, and so much more. For the latter half of the episode, we took attendee-submitted In/Out Lists and broke them down in real-time. We hope you enjoy, and we hope this can be the first of many live episodes in the future! In this episode of The Habit Coach podcast's Hot Seat series, we explore the phenomenon of Sunday blues - the feeling of sadness or anxiety that many people experience on Sunday evenings with the thought of starting a new week. Our host Ashdin Doctor examines why people often feel this way, attributing it to the upcoming Monday and the prospect of returning to a job they dislike. To combat these negative feelings, he suggests asking ourselves some key questions to reflect on why we are not enjoying our week and what changes we can make to improve our situation. Further, he encourages viewers to incorporate one fun activity into their Monday routine, creating something to look forward to each week. He also discusses the benefits of journaling to identify and process any negative thoughts or feelings that may be contributing to our Sunday blues. Finally, offers the pro tip of planning self-care or enjoyable activities for the upcoming weekend and even incorporating some of those fun weekend activities into our weekdays to make life more enjoyable.Send your questions to Ashdin Doctor for The Habit Coach Hot Seat/ Know Your Coach on this link: (Habit Coach Hot Seat ) You can watch the full video episodes of The Habit Coach Podcast with Ashdin Doctor on the YouTube channel. Hope we can alleviate the Sunday Scaries for you with our discussion on One Tree Hill S3E20: Everyday Is a Sunday Evening, a very strange episode that wants us to think that Lucas (Chad Michael Murray, who did not appear in this episode) is either super important or not important at all for the show (at least those are Jeremy's thoughts). It's the playoffs and Nathan (James Lafferty) tries to lead the Ravens to success against the undefeated Oak Lake, despite pressure from the team's lead player Damien West (Joshua Snyder). Plus Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Mouth (Lee Norris) plot revenge against Rachel (Danneel Ackles) for breaking Mouth's heart after learning she lied about her age to get with Cooper (Michael Trucco). Plus Peyton (Hilarie Burton Morgan) reunites with Jake (Bryan Greenberg) and Jenny, effectively reigniting the Jeyton fireworks! Plus, Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods) and Nathan issue a restraining order against Dan (Paul Johannson). In this episode, we discuss: The title's namesake, an album by the Blackouts Fun facts about Chad Michael Murray's absence, including how he was filming the movie Home of the Brave The misleading promos that lead you to believe Lucas was going to be hooking up with Rachel and that Dan was going to burn his old house down Damien West actor Joshua Snyder's baking brand with his wife, Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin from The Office), and the rabbit hole Jeremy went down to learn about this Damien's strange parallel to Dan and how he harasses Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz), in a storyline where she has absolutely no agency The weird objectification of Rachel The high camp levels between Brooke and Rachel Oh remember that fight Brooke and Mouth had a few episodes ago? Don't worry. This episode forgot about it too! Whether Rachel actually knew that Cooper was the uncle of one of her classmates Jake's reasoning for wanting to go to Savannah at the end of season one despite this new information that Nicki's parents were also there Dan actually showing real emotions now that he no longer has power over his family The epic CODA of "Look After You" by The Fray Be sure to leave us a review on Apple Podcasts! When your brain feels like a browser with too many tabs open, what's your response? For most people, it leads to overwhelm and procrastination, which then starts this vicious cycle that prevents them from achieving their goals. In this episode, we're sharing what we do to put boundaries in place and improve focus throughout the day. Between scheduling in breaks and using sensory signals to get into the zone, it all starts with doing the thought work on why you're distracted in the first place and then setting up safeguards to limit those default patterns. That mountain of tasks we have in the back of our heads and know we "need to get to" isn't doing us any favors. We tend to sit around and procrastonate on it all. It is easier to add things to the pile and let it intimidate us rather than to just get it all taken care of, right? Learning to get things done as they come may seem like common sense to many, but to us who suffer from anxiety, or maybe even ADHD, it is not so easy. This episode explores these ideas on how to get it done. Self Love Tip: Don't save it for tomorrow

This week, check into a haunted hotel for Spring Break! First, Carter remembers the Alamo and pays a visit to San Antonio's Menger Hotel. A successful brewery leads to a booming hotel business, and entertains a host of notables who never check out. Bump into Teddy Roosevelt in the bar, a mysterious maid in the hall, or a former guest in your bedroom! Then, Marissa introduces us to Norman G. Baker, a radio host who dabbles in medicine. His questionable treatments lead to suffering, death, and a charming neo-gothic resort hotel. Guests take in the mountaintop views while a charlatan fills them full of watermelon seeds and carbolic acid.
Why they call them the Sunday Scaries. Why life patterns are repeating on you and the question you need to ask yourself to stop them. How to keep from becoming selfish. Plus Kelsey's bachelorette party weekend and how friends from second grade.....are exactly the same. Bye Betches.
How does Flight mode show up for you? For some, it is a restlessness that they can't quite explain, pre-call anxiety, or Sunday Scaries. For others, it is drinking alcohol or eating to escape. Many of us experience what's commonly referred to as the Sunday scaries, a feeling of stress or anxiety that sets in as the weekend winds down. Fortunately, there are ways to reduce the Sunday scaries and promote a more positive outlook on the week ahead. One of the most effective strategies is to prioritize time for oneself. By taking care of your own needs and engaging in activities that promote relaxation, self-care, and well-being, you can reduce stress, increase motivation, and achieve a better balance between work and life. Here are some tips for prioritizing time for oneself and reducing the Sunday scaries: Schedule time for self-care: Just as you would schedule time for work or other obligations, make sure to schedule time for self-care activities such as exercise, meditation, or reading. By prioritizing these activities, you can reduce stress and promote relaxation. Get enough sleep: Adequate sleep is essential for reducing stress and promoting overall well-being. Make sure to prioritize getting enough sleep each night, and avoid staying up too late on Sunday evenings. Engage in activities you enjoy: Whether it's spending time with loved ones, pursuing a hobby, or simply taking a walk outside, make sure to engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment. Doing so can increase motivation and promote a more positive outlook on the week ahead. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, and progressive muscle relaxation can help reduce stress and promote relaxation. Incorporate these techniques into your daily routine to help manage the Sunday scaries and other sources of stress. In this week's podcast episode, we're diving deeper into the topic of reducing the Sunday scaries by prioritizing time for oneself. Tune in to learn more about the benefits of self-care, how to achieve a better work-life balance, and strategies for reducing stress and anxiety.
