Welcome to Design Speaks. This lovely podcast is brought to you by a graphic design geek and a regular human being (aka non-designer). We’ll be finding and discussing graphic design subjects in all forms using words like branding, color theory, hierarchy, fonts, and other terms you may or may not us…

Listeners of Design Speaks that love the show mention: brandi's,The Design Speaks podcast is a gem that I stumbled upon at a crucial time in my design career. As a recent college graduate, I decided to take a year of service with Americorps, which took me out of the design world. However, I still felt the need to keep my design knowledge fresh, and that's when I discovered Brandi's podcast. Coincidentally based in New Mexico, where I was serving, it felt like a sign that I needed to listen.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the genuine and organic conversation between Brandi and her guests. Before diving into design-related topics, they engage in chatter that feels like you're sitting with friends talking about life and design. It creates a comfortable and relatable atmosphere that sets this podcast apart from others.
Another great aspect is the valuable insight and knowledge shared by Brandi. Her words have stayed with me long after listening to an episode, and I have even adopted her word mapping technique in my own design process. The quirky and nerdy aspects of design are also celebrated on this podcast, which aligns perfectly with my own interests.
However, one small drawback of this podcast is that it may not be as technical or deep-diving as some listeners may prefer. While it covers important design topics, it skims the surface in a conversational manner rather than going into extreme detail. But for those who appreciate an approachable and engaging exploration of design concepts, this is not necessarily a negative aspect.
In conclusion, The Design Speaks podcast is an invaluable resource for designers looking for inspiration and insight into the creative process. Brandi's passion for design shines through every episode, and her conversations with guests are both educational and enjoyable. Whether you're a seasoned designer or just starting out in your creative journey, this podcast offers something for everyone seeking to grow as a designer or simply gain a deeper understanding of the world of design.

Hey there, fellow designers and creatives! It's BrandiSea, and I'm here to challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone when it comes to finding inspiration. We all know that Pinterest is a great resource, but let's be real - everyone else is using it too. That's why I'm encouraging you to seek out "uncommon inspiration" in the world around you.Take a walk in nature, explore your city, or even just look at everyday objects in a new way. You never know what unique textures, colors, and shapes you might come across that could inspire your next project.I recently used a photo I took while on a walk with my son as inspiration for an album cover design, and it turned out amazing! So trust me when I say that inspiration is everywhere - you just have to be open to it.Let's break free from our reliance on online platforms and create work that truly stands out and reflects our individuality. Are you up for the challenge? Let's go!Support the showVisit BrandiSea.com for more content and resources!
What if I told you that you could find usable design inspiration without getting on places like Behance, Pinterest, dribble, Google; whatever your go-to might be online. Would you believe me?Support the showVisit BrandiSea.com for more content and resources!
