The first half of Shannon Messengers epic novel has been adapted as a graphic novel with beautiful artwork! This stunning retelling of the first half of the thrilling first novel comes to life with all the adventure and epic worldbuilding the Keeper of the Lost Cities series is known for. Twelve-year-old Sophie Foster has never quite fit into her life. She's skipped multiple grades and doesn't really connect with the older kids at school, but she's not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie's a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret—at least, that's what she thinks… But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she's not alone. He's a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well…she isn't. Fitz opens Sophie's eyes to a shocking truth, and she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.

In this stunning ninth book in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series,Sophie and her friends discover the true meaning of power—and evil. Sophie Foster changed the game. Now she's facing impossible choices:when to act, when to trust, and when to let go. Her friends are divided and scattered, and the Black Swan wants Sophie to focus on their projects. But her instincts are leading her somewhere else. Stellarlune—and the mysterious Elysian—might be the key to everything. But finding truth in the Lost Cities always requires sacrifice. And as the Neverseen's plans sharpen into terrifying focus, it appears that everyone has miscalculated. The Lost Cities' greatest lie could destroy everything. And in the battle that follows, only one thing is certain: nothing will ever be the same. The world and characters that Shannon creates immediately suck you in--but everything is still grounded in a relatable story. The stories feature a strong female protagonist as well as several great male characters/friends, and they're full of action, humor, and fantastical elements, which will appeal to all readers. Millions of readers have made Keeper of the Lost Cities a worldwide phenomenon, and the series continues to grow with each new book.

She's studied art, screenwriting, and film production, but she realized her real passion was writing stories for children. She's the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the award-winning middle grade series, Keeper of the Lost Cities, as well as the Sky Fall series for young adults. Her books have been featured on multiple state reading lists, published in numerous countries, and translated into many different languages. Sheir has also brought thousands of stories to life as a news reporter on public-radio shows like Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Here & Now, The Splendid Table, and Marketplace. She lives in western Massachusetts with her husband and son. Shannon Messenger is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the award-winning middle grade series, Keeper of the Lost Cities, as well as the Sky Fall series for young adults. Although the Keeper of the Lost Cities books are longer than most for the targeted audience, Messenger says “I think they just have to look past the thickness of the book and trust that the chapters are short and it reads really fun.” When asked about inspiration, Messenger replied “I find inspiration everywhere. I feel like the best thing an author can do is learn to be observant and always keep a notebook handy because you never know when a tiny detail will inspire you.” During the live webcast, students can call in and talk to the author about character development, her writing process, whatever is on their minds. Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast and Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver spoons Podcas

Hey Punky Peeps, Welcome to a New Year and a new Season of the Punky Brewster. I’m Angela Bowen the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. Today I’ll be covering S3E1: Reading, Writing and Rock and Roll which aired on October 30, 1987. In this episode Punky wants to see the rock group DeBarge in concert, but Henry is more concerned with her education. In this episode I talk about the importance of reading and even suggest a couple of books I've read. Young Adult Contemporary Love, Life and the List by Kasie West and Middle Grade Series Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger. I also recommend Jimmy Dean Pancake and Sausage Bites and Cinnamon Candy Oreos. I mention the passing of one of the cohosts of the 3 Day Rental Podcast. I talk about my time meeting the band Hanson in 2011 when I'd first listened to them back in 1997 when I was 14 and their pictures graced my walls. Speaking of reading I talk about the time I got Jeremy who by the way doesn't like to read I got him to read at least 10 books and this was before we started dating. Brandon Tail Wag Episode Rating: I gave this episode 3 out of 5 Brandon Tail Wags 1. Brandon's DeBarge Outfit 2. Henry going to DeBarge and asking them to convince Punky of the importance of reading. 3. DeBarge giving Punky and her friends a special at home concert and explaining the virtues of Tom Sawyer. I knocked Brandon Tail Wags. 1. For Spud, I'm not a fan of him (feels like a replacement for Allen). 2. Betty fainting at the sight of DeBarge 4 (yes, I'm serious, 4 times, once was enough, but four was overkill and a cause for concern for Betty's mental state). PUNKY'S PRINCIPLES: I personally feel if you don't like reading, you just haven't met the right book yet. Also if DeBarge takes the time to perform a personal in home concert, you dang well better pick up a book after! You HEAR me PUNKY!! I want to give a sincere thank to all you listeners out there whether you listen to this podcast on Itunes or Soundcloud or any other listening platforms that you may use to hear this podcast. I love giving you the episode recaps of Punky Brewster every week joining me as I go into full detail describing her many adventures and shenanigans with Henry, Brandon and her friends as well as my occasional running commentary and childhood stories.
