In this episode of the Vanderbloemen Leadership Podcast, Jared sits down with William Vanderbloemen to unpack why vision isn't just a top-level conversation—it's the fuel that drives every part of a healthy organization. From pop quizzes on vision statements to the concept of "uber vision," they explore why vision clarity at all layers of leadership is critical for building, running, and keeping great teams. Key discussion points include: Vision at Every Level: Why it's not enough for just the leadership team to know the vision—and how to make sure everyone from the receptionist to the CEO is aligned. Uber Vision vs. Vision: How setting a high enough North Star can create momentum that carries the whole team farther than ever imagined. Turning Vision into Action: Why casting big vision must be paired with clear, practical steps so teams don't feel overwhelmed but empowered. Navigating Changes: How the age and size of an organization affect how quickly (or slowly) vision shifts can happen—and why urgency matters. (For a deeper dive into leading through change, check out our episode Leading Through Change). The Power of Repetition: How Aristotle's principle of “reminding people of what they already know” helps leaders reinforce vision without sounding redundant. Vision and Organizational Growth: Why understanding the founding heartbeat of an organization can help you contextualize vision for the future. Whether you're leading a startup, a growing team, or a historic organization, this episode will help you sharpen your vision-casting skills, energize your team, and swing the pendulum farther toward meaningful impact. In this week's conversation between Dr. James Emery White and co-host Alexis Drye, they discuss a recent USA Today article exploring the current divorce rates in the United States. The stats seem to vary based on state, religious affiliation, race, sexual orientation, occupation… even the number of times that someone has been married. They also noted that divorce rates tend to peak around the 5th year of marriage, and then again around the 15th to 20th year of marriage. Dr. White weighs in on why people get divorced. Episode Links Dr. White noted that a big shift happens in people's mindset when the romance fades and reality sets in. This was actually an installment of a series that he gave at Mecklenburg Community Church called “Marriage Mentoring.” You can find that entire series HERE. Another factor that can play a big role surrounds marking the dawn of the 30s. Another series that you may be interested in looking at is called “Seasons of Life,” and in particular the installment called “30s - The Age of Second Thoughts.” A final series that Dr. White delivered at Meck and which he mentioned in today's episode is called “The Lies We Believe About Marriage.” You can find that series HERE. Finally, Dr. White wrote a blog about how couples cohabiting before marriage can actually increase the rate of divorce, and why this is something that the church needs to teach on more often. Be sure to read “The Importance of Knowing Why and Casting Vision.” For those of you who are new to Church & Culture, we'd love to invite you to subscribe (for free of course) to the twice-weekly Church & Culture blog and check out the Daily Headline News - a collection of headlines from around the globe each weekday. our Mistakes Companies Make in Defining and Casting Vision Have you ever read a book on management or vision which did not include a section on the importance of vision? It's hard to think of one. Vision-casting is a standard topic anytime management and leadership skills are discussed. As a C-Suite leadership coach and a business consultant, I've coached scores of clients through the process of articulating their vision and mission. I've worked alongside hundreds of others as they put a corporate vision into effect. From that experience, I've noted a pattern of recurring mistakes which people tend to make in vision-casting. In this podcast, I look at four of the most common ones: Failing to have clarity on the distinction between vision and mission Choosing a vision statement which is not particularly "envisionable" Reducing vision to little more than a slogan, motto, or tagline Not being rigorous in communicating their vision repeatedly Because corporate vision is so vital to success, putting it together well and communicating it properly is essential in any mission-driven organization. In episode 271, you'll hear why casting vision is a powerful tool that is underutilised by many preachers, and Todd Peebles is going to give you some very practical steps to start. Before that you will hear about Praying Over Your PassageTodd shares his approach to preparing for a sermon, which involves praying over the passage he'll be teaching on. He explains how this practice helps him to connect with God and gain a deeper understanding of the text, enabling him to communicate its message more effectively. Planning a Preaching ScheduleTodd shares his process for planning out a preaching schedule months in advance, including how he selects topics and Scripture passages to teach on. He emphasizes the importance of seeking God's guidance and being open to change as the schedule unfolds.Casting Vision for the Church Casting a vision" for a church is the process of defining and communicating a clear and compelling picture of what the church could and should be in the future. It involves sharing a vision of what the church can achieve, what it stands for, and where it is heading. It is a critical process for churches because it helps to provide direction, focus, and motivation for the congregation. One of the most significant benefits of casting a vision for a church is that it provides a clear sense of direction and purpose. It helps the members of the church understand where they are heading and why they are doing what they do. This clarity can be motivating and inspiring, helping to unite the congregation around a shared vision and a common goal. Todd helps us think through this process together. Todd was born in Stuttgart Arkansas in January 1970. His parents are Phyllis & Allen Peebles. As a child, he was privileged to be an Army Brat. This meant he got to live in some different places. His family lived in Heidelberg Germany, Clarksville Tennessee, Gauiter Mississippi and Crowville Louisiana. Todd Graduated from High School in Crowville Louisiana in May of 1988. In 1990, he began to pursue his childhood dream of working in Law Enforcement. He Served the Stuttgart Arkansas Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff's Department in Greenville Mississippi. In 1995 Todd answered the call to vocational ministry on his life. He began serving in Youth Ministry. In 1996, Fellowship Baptist Church in Texarkana Arkansas Licensed him to the ministry. In 1998, Todd answered the call to serve His first church as Senior Pastor. In May of 1999, Shady Grove Baptist Church of Sparkman Arkansas ordained him to the Gospel Ministry. In October of 2004, Todd and Shelly (Pease) Peebles were married. They now have four wonderful children, one boy and three girls. Todd has served as Pastor at churches in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and now serving as pastor in Kansas. Todd graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a concentration in Expository Preaching in December 2011. Todd is currently working on a Doctor of Ministry also from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Todd is passionate about expository preaching, serving in the local church, and helping others with their calling in ministry as opportunities present themselves.Recommended episodes: Leadership Collective : https://www.expositorscollective.com/podcast/2021/6/3/introducing-the-leadership-collective Ted Leavenworth interview: https://www.expositorscollective.com/podcast/2020/11/19/mistakes-new-preachers-often-make-ted-leavenworth Rob Salvato interview: https://www.expositorscollective.com/podcast/2020/5/12/episode-106-preaching-with-brevity-and-clarityFor information about our upcoming training events in Texas and Indiana visit ExpositorsCollective.com The Expositors Collective podcast is part of the CGNMedia, Working together to proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and plant churches. Echoes Through Eternity with Dr. Jeffery Skinner

Rev. Mark Hoffman specializes in rural church ministries with a focus on micro churches.Micro churches are small communities of Christ-followers (minimum of 3, maximum of 20) who have connected their lives together for the purpose of loving God, loving one another, and reaching others with the gospel. https://micro-churches.com/micro-churches. Micro churches are also part of a larger congregation or network that provides accountability and encouragement. Some possible benefits of micro churches are:- They provide a healing community that prays for the sick, counsels the confused, carries out inner healing, sets people free from curses and demonic bondage, and creates such an atmosphere of acceptance and love that rejection and insecurities are displaced over timehttps://micro-churches.com/micro-churcheshttps://micro-churches.com/micro-churches.- They offer a more intimate and authentic way of worshiping God, discipling one another, and living out their mission in their neighborhoodshttps://www.thebanner.org/columns/2021/12/what-is-a-microchurch-and-is-it-a-good-or-bad-development.- They allow more pastors to use their gifts and more believers to practice leadership, management, preaching, teaching, creative ministry, spiritual gifts, and all forms of servanthoodhttps://churchleaders.com/outreach-missions/outreach-missions-articles/315855-11-advantages-50-churches-100-instead-1-church-5000-karl-vaters.html.- They foster a lifestyle of deep, intentional, meaningful relationships that connect any time and place with an ultimate goal to reach lost people and transform communities through Christ and the kingdom of Godhttps://micro-churches.com/micro-churches.- https://dcfi.org/resources/articles/theres-a-new-church-emerging/https://dcfi.org/resources/articles/theres-a-new-church-emerging/.These are some benefits of micro churches according to some web sources. You may find other benefits from different perspectives or traditions.Mark may be contacted vi his Facebook profile which is linked below.Reverend Mark Hoffman, a lead pastor at Ewing Full Gospel Church in Nebraska, specializes in rural ministry and microchurch planting. He believes that rural areas are often overlooked but have great potential for growth. His vision is to create a microchurch network for rural Nebraska using a multiplication model where groups of up to 20 people meet regularly and then multiply into new groups. The leaders of these microchurches are typically seasoned believers who may not necessarily be professional clergy but can still provide strong leadership within their communities. Reverend Hoffman is also working on starting a Sand Hills School of Ministry to equip future leaders with the necessary training and knowledge. The speaker discusses the concept of microchurches and their benefits, particularly for rural communities. Microchurches are small groups that focus on community, worship, and mission. They aim to create a network of churches rather than one large church. The speaker emphasizes the importance of personal accountability in these smaller settings and how they can lead to life change. He also mentions the need for communication about the goal of multiplying microchurches from the beginning and celebrates when this happens. The speaker encourages listeners to break away from traditional views of what a church should look like and instead focus on creating meaningful connections within their communities through microchurches. The text suggests that people can help spread the message of God by liking, subscribing, and leaving positive reviews for the Echoes Through Eternity podcast. Sharing these reviews with friends and family on social media can also lead to more listeners who will continue to echo the message of God through eternity. The goal is to keep echoing those voices that God is already spreading. The author asks readers to like, subscribe, and review the podcast if they are able.Outline:Chapter 1: Introduction to Echoes Through Eternity with Dr. Jeffrey D. Are you having a rocky start to your year? Does it seem like you are starting out on a crazy train? How about we start this season with a positive attitude? Having a word to reflect on throughout the year has always been pivotal in my life and I hope it is helpful to you as well. We all have good intentions when we set resolutions. But let's be honest friends, even though we started out strong, less than half of us made it to the 6-month mark. Focusing on ONE word during the entire year can be very powerful. Not only will you be able to stay focused, but you will also have direction on who you want to be and what you want to step into. Pause, think, and create a list to hone into your word. And remember, don't just be interested in it, be committed to it. Set some time by yourself, with a friend, or your date to go through these steps. Do you feel like you can't ever remember anything? I used to complain about this myself. With all the ideas, the vision, even small thoughts of creativity, what are we to do when they seem to pass us by sometimes. I think it's super important to write everything down. Today, I want to share some practical ways that you can get these ideas from your head onto paper. Although I truly do have good memory. I was choosing to make it harder on myself by not creating organization around my way of life. I was opening the door to forgetting things and prolonging the implementation of these new ideas. I was doing what many of us unknowingly do when it comes to productivity and life rhythm. I was chasing the adrenaline of hustle culture and taking pride in the way I was running my life in business. To steward plans and thoughts is to value ourselves and all the beautiful things God has placed in us. This will not feel natural at first, but the more you do it, you will quickly see the fruit. I'm not asking you to change your personality or how you work. I'm simply telling you, what's working for me and how to create practices and rhythms around who you are and how you operate. There are those moments where you're feeling very creative. You've got that adrenaline rush and you need to get some of these thoughts out of your mind and put them on paper. You don't have to use all those ideas. You don't have to implement every thing that you write down on paper, but by doing it, it gets a lot of those thoughts out of the clutter onto paper where you can see them and allows you to go into the rest of your day into the rest of your week with a clear and open mind.Subscribe the Flow Youtube Channel: https://bit.ly/3NKR0dW5 Ways To Improve Your Morning Routine: (Free Challenge) https://bit.ly/397PZOBWatch Write Everything Down Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DTFlmEfpuw

Leadership and influence are two words that are often tossed around in church culture. At times, it can be difficult to connect with these terms, particularly if you can't identify where you can lead or influence others in your life. But what if I told you that you were a leader and that you had your own sphere of influence? Today I'm chatting with pastor, author, and world-class leader Pastor Craig Groeschel about those very things. In this episode, Pastor Craig shares his wisdom and helps us define the "IT" factor and what “IT” looks like, practically speaking. He talks about what healthy church leadership looks like from his own perspective as well as ways we can apply these insights to our own lives. Leadership looks different for everyone, and we all have opportunities to influence others in our day-to-day living. Pastor Craig also talks about casting vision and why we should create a vision for every area of life. You can find out more in his new book “Lead Like It Matters”. As you listen, I hope you can begin to identify your leadership capabilities and ways that you can be empowered to lead life well. I believe that YOU are an influencer!
