This was a crazy episode. We recorded a whole intro that was terrible (worse than ever before) but luckily we changed it with the one you will listen to. I actually mixed up Andy Warhol and Andy Kauffman and we spent like 5 minutes trying to figure out how that was wrong and it literally went on and on and on...but then we scrapped the whole thing. It was a real life deus ex machina... This episode actually has 2 guests!!! Our first guest was DeWayne who runs Wake Comics and makes characters like Liar and Blood Sable that will make you say "cooool". DeWayne tells us how he got into comics, his writing process, his drawing process and a little bit about what the book Liar means to him. Don't call it a BONUS EPISODE...but it is sort of that. This episode was recorded right before we took a break...in fact, there's a moment in this episode that Michael warns Keegan that he will be a zombie for 6 months, and that is exactly what happened and why we took a break. So...we never had time to upload this FANTASTIC interview with comic book creator Michael Penick (@penickart) but the time is now! Michael Penick has just completed a successful Kickstarter for his comic "Recovery Incorporated" and is currently working on issue 2. We really enjoyed talking to Michael about his process and comics and we know you'll enjoy this episode. Also sorry for the weird references to humor and things that were happening in February. This week we all worked on a full page of a comic script. We're back in January with new comic book creator guests. Make sure to subscribe!
Welcome to the 3rd episode of our 4-Part Series called "The December Draw Down"! The DDD was created as a way to focus more on comic book "art" because we have spent so much time talking about writing, editing, marketing...etc. We also wanted to attempt comic book art, because comic artists (sarcastically I'm sure) are often suggesting comic book writers who can't pay learn how to draw! "What an interesting suggestion..." we said, and then this competition was born. This week we tried drawing One-Point Perspective using the guide by Joe Catapano on How To Draw Comics.Net http://howtodrawcomics.net/one-point-perspective.We followed the step-by-step guide to try and recreate the city street. We have started streaming episodes live on Twitch (Fridays at 9EST PM) and you can see our work on our Instagram page, YouTube or Twitch page. But the audio totally works too if you feel like picturing some weird art in your head! Also, if you're interested in drawing comics, we suggest you check out howtodrawcomics.net - - the guide is actually really great and had information you can't really find in books easily! Thanks for listening! Thanks to our special guests Chloe M (Eric's niece) and AndyBooWandy (@BirdsofSadness on Instagram). Be sure to subscribe for more episodes!
This week we interview the CEO and Founder of Global Comix (https://globalcomix.com) Chris Carter.
