A social commentary on the divide between black voters based on gender roles and specific interest-based on party lines. Do Black men hate black women? This has come up on several platforms on social media and the mainstream media. That statement is silly, lazy, and lack cognitive reasoning. This messaging is being delivered by some black women in media as fact. What’s the “why” coming from a black man perceptive; simply what’s in it for the US and our community(black woman included). Black leaders have asked black men to step up. Unfortunately, the measure did not inline with Liberal ideology completely. Black men want to play let’s make a deal for our vote. Tupac throughout this album provided social commentary on racism, police brutality, teen pregnancy and urban crime. In the aftermath of Rodney King a victim of police brutality by the Los Angeles Police Department. On this day of March 3, 1991 a few months before 2 Pac debut album was set for release. Rodney King was beaten by LAPD officers after incident of a high-speed chase during the encounter for his arrest while amateur cameraman George Holliday caught it all on videotape. Moreover the four Officer were indicted on charges of excessive use of force by a officer in addition to assault with a deadly weapon. After a three month trail by a majority white jury acquitted the four officers of all charges. This ignited the residents of Los Angeles, California areas inflaming racial tensions which lead to the violent 1992 riots. Fast forward to 2020 with the emergence of Donald Trump Presidency mixed xenophobia, bigotry and unorthodox style of governor fair or unfair. The narrative “Make America Great”again evokes fear to minority populous of Jim Crow times. Furthermore with recent deaths of Nipsey Hussle, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Rayshard Brooks. Tupac first single off 2PACALYPSE Now embodies police brutality and black on black crime narrative. The titled song Trapped dissects urban allegory discribing the anxiety of a young black male in America. Thus obstacles paved by systemic racism accompanied with government oppression, along with self mental oppression brought forth by environment of urban decay. In conclusion this podcast narrates the anxiety, fear, pain and PTSD of the lyricisms of Tupac Shakur & Ray Luv world. Whether an athlete, artist or college minded person, we all have the same potholes and temptations to avoid. Streets always seem to be calling parallels everyone’s end game for leaving the hood. Will you answer that call is the only question. Whether your Ricky, Doe Boy, Tre or Brandi in “Boyz in the Hood”. The potholes are prevalent for black youth in urban environment. Some bigger than others, but the path is the same. As Tupac famously wrote “I see death around the corner”. 2 Chainz narrates his anxieties and misfortunes in the street as a Atlanta area drug dealer; trying to legitimize and leave the street game. But not necessarily the game of hustling. We examine 2 Chainz bars through his lens. Comparing and contrasting the everyday personal struggles against 2 Chainz story.
