On today's show, the WIP midday show react to a mostly positive weekend except for one thing. The bullpen struggled again! The midday show thinks they may have come up with a new solution to this issues that has plagued the Phillies throughout this first month of the season. Plus, Rhea Hughes joins the show to give her take on that topic as well as Eagles draft and AJ Brown updates. In hour 1, the WIP midday show continue floating ideas to fix the bullpen pitching for the Phillies. One of the top ideas is moving Andrew Painter to the bullpen as he continues to impress in his rehab starts in Clearwater. Is this a good or bad idea? Meanwhile, Rob Thomson seems to think the bullpen may not even be a problem!
In hour 2, Joe and Hugh review some updates to first AJ Brown trade rumors that surfaced last Friday. But, also the update of AJ Brown's car being stolen this morning and has it potentially been found?
In hour 3, the WIP midday show reacts to a report put out by Adam Schefter of ESPN who says he expects the Eagles to be active in draft day trades with 20 picks to play with in the next two drafts combined. Plus, the Mets and Phillies meet for the first time since the NLDS in October. The midday show previews this big early season revenge series.
In hour 4, Joe and Hugh discuss the new drama coming out of the Braves clubhouse, adding emphasis to capitalize on the Mets series this week to put the Phillies as the clear front runners of the division. Loveland is considered one of the elite offensive weapons coming out this draft with some saying the gap between him and top rated tight end prospect Tyler Warren is not nearly as big as some have speculated.
The Phillies began their week with a series against the New York Mets who when they last place were knocking them out of the playoffs in the NLDS back in October. Could this series establish Phillies NL East dominance?
